These ice lollies were incredible and Anum was really helpful with nothing being too much trouble. A great touch to the event and the lollies went down incredibly well with my guests :)

Our guests loved the food. It was delicious with plenty to go round. We appreciated having 3 options of paella for our guests, this meant we were able to cater to everyone’s dietary needs. Steve arrived promptly and was communicative in the lead up to the event. Someone from our partying is already inquiring about him for her party.

Chris and his colleague were absolutely fantastic, churning out amazing tasty pizzas at my party. Really friendly and great communication from the moment I booked. They handled all the set up and cleared everything away with no fuss, even taking the rubbish away. I'd highly recommend them and would definitely use them again for future events.

Had the most wonderful pizzas which made my 50th birthday party so easy. They were all delicious and every single slice was eaten! Piero was so accommodating, friendly and efficient. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Communication from the offset was excellent- Nafi's responses were always polite and prompt. We arranged a tasting session before our event to decide our exact menu choices. They were incredibly accommodating, and willing and able to adapt to our requirements. On the day of the event itself, the team got on with everything efficiently and we barely noticed they were there. The food was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. Our guests are still commenting, a month later, on how much they enjoyed the buffet. We would wholeheartedly recommended Indimax Caterers and hope to hire them again, should we have another event in the future.

We delivered next level parties for exceptional companies

We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.

Street Food Catering in the UK: Your Complete Buyer’s Guide

Street Food Catering in the UK is about flavour, theatre and ease. It suits village fetes, barn weddings and milestone birthdays just as well as corporate away days and school summer fairs. Mobile kitchens set up quickly, serve at pace and bring menus that feel joyful rather than formal. In this guide we explain how to brief suppliers, what it typically costs across the country, which dishes travel well, and how to plan service in fields, farms, marquees and village greens without stress. If you are searching for Street Food Catering in the UK, you are in the right place.

We work with trusted caterers nationwide. We know how to feed 50 guests on a village green with limited power, how to run a two hour window at a marquee wedding, and how to keep queues moving at a birthday in a farmyard. Our aim is simple. Help you choose fast, shape a personal menu, and enjoy a smooth service from first sizzle to last crêpe.

When Street Food Is the Smart Choice

  • Village fetes that need friendly service Fetes reward clear pricing, quick portions and a menu that suits mixed ages. Wood-fired pizza by the slice, BBQ boxes and crêpes with simple toppings are perfect. Place stands so queues run along pathways rather than across footfall, keep sauces on a separate station, and you will serve hundreds without clogging the green.

  • Barn weddings with relaxed rhythm Couples who choose barns and rural venues usually want celebration without stiff formality. Street food keeps guests flowing between speeches, photos and music. Pizza ovens work beautifully in courtyards, paella pans add theatre during the reception, BBQ smells set the scene, and crêpes give you a sweet finish that does not slow the dance floor. A savoury serve after the ceremony, coffee during room turn, then late-night bites is a winning arc.

  • Milestone birthdays that feel effortless Big birthdays want pace and fun. A focused two-item menu moves the line quickly and keeps budgets friendly. If you expect a one hour surge, run two service lines and pre-print a short menu for the patio or marquee entrance. Guests decide before they reach the front, which halves decision time and keeps the party talking.

Spaces Across the UK That Suit Street Food

  • Fields and farms Open ground gives you space and character. It also needs planning. Confirm vehicle routes, turning circles and whether the ground is firm. Ask for ground protection if rain is likely. Silent generators sized to the menu are ideal where power is distant. If you are on livestock land, agree waste and water handling in advance and return the site spotless.

Frequently asked questions

How much does street food catering cost?
When hiring a street food caterer in the UK, you should budget between £5 and £25 per person. An event costs between £350 and £745, depending on the vendor you choose on the Poptop website. You will be able to hire a street food caterer once you enter your party's information on the website - you will get to view real-time prices and the availability of street food suppliers. All you have to do is send a reservation request and pay a deposit to secure a date. The vendor will then confirm your reservation.
What is your street food menu?
Each street food caterer has a unique menu for you to choose from, but the menu can be adapted to your preferences. These are pizzas, burgers, hot dogs, crepes, waffles, etc. Some available meals on the menu are Asian BBQ pork, Chilli & garlic chicken, Freshly made 11" sourdough pizzas, Margherita, Ham and mushroom, Crispy bacon, a Spicy meat feast, and Pepperoni. The menu can be tailored to suit vegan, gluten-free eaters, and non-dairy eaters. However, this needs to be discussed with the street food caterer before the event. Rest assured, the vendors on Poptop will consider your requests.

  • Marquees and tipis Cooking is usually outdoors with food carried into the structure. Many venues prefer enclosed electric kit near canvas and require floor protection. Position stands to keep smoke away from entrances, and plan a clear route from cook line to service point. If your marquee is on a lawn, a short trackway from vehicle to kitchen can save time and muddy shoes.

  • Village greens and community spaces Greens are made for street food. Secure permission early, keep cable runs tidy, and use weighted shelters in case of wind. Give your neighbours a finish time that keeps everyone happy. Visible bins for packaging and food waste are essential. A tidy site wins friends and repeat invites.

  • Menus That Travel Well and Please a Crowd

    • Wood-fired pizza that keeps the line moving Sourdough bases, short lists of toppings and a vegan option keep decisions quick. Slices are great for fetes. Whole pies suit weddings and slower receptions. A light salad or slaw on the side adds colour without slowing service. For late evenings, a simple margherita or hot honey twist keeps smiles high.

    • BBQ with a local twist Grills are fast and flexible. Think pulled pork or brisket, grilled chicken, veggie skewers, charred corn and simple sides. Ask for halal sourcing where needed. Keep base flavours gentle, then let guests add heat at the sauce station. Separate tongs for gluten-free is a small detail that builds confidence.

    • Paella that brings theatre A wide pan draws a crowd and feeds at scale. Paella holds well, portions fast, and looks fantastic in photos. Choose one seafood or chicken option and one vegan version. Pair with a crisp salad and lemon wedges for pace. Paella works particularly well at barn weddings and village events where guests like to watch the cooking.

    • Crêpes for the sweet finish Crêpes are compact, smell incredible and serve quickly. Offer three classics and one special that nods to your event. For savoury, buckwheat galettes sit neatly alongside and handle dietary variety. At birthdays and fetes, crêpes act as dessert and a hand warmer in the evening.

    • Veg-forward that feels like the headline Plant-led menus deserve top billing. Falafel with pickles and tahini, charred cauliflower with grains and herbs, or roasted squash with citrus dressings keep everyone happy. Label allergens clearly and keep plant-based lines separate from grills where possible.

Street Food Catering in the UK: Typical Prices

Across the UK most street food services sit between £9 and £17 per person, plus travel where applicable. Minimum spends usually fall between £900 and £1,400. Quotes normally include food, standard staffing, disposables and sensible set-up. Extras can include generators, extended service windows, premium compostables and bespoke dietary adjustments.

Ways to keep budgets tidy without losing quality:

    • Aim for a two hour serve, it is the value sweet spot for most gatherings.
    • Keep menus focused. Two mains and one side balance choice and speed.
    • Small guest lists hit the minimum spend fastest. If you are close, add coffee or crêpes rather than over-ordering savoury.
    • Share access details early. Long pushes or soft ground add crew time. Good info keeps the number friendly.

Examples that mirror the UK market:

    • Village fete with rolling service over four hours, average ticket £9 to £12 per head, minimum covered by steady footfall.
    • Barn wedding for 100 guests, pizza with salads and a late crêpe cart, usually £13 to £17 per head with the longer window.
    • Milestone birthday for 60, BBQ duo with veg headline and a quick dessert, often £10 to £15 per head, travel depending on location.
    • Farm party for 45, likely to trigger a £900 to £1,100 minimum. Add coffee to lift guest experience within the same spend.

How to Brief a Street Food Caterer

Give simple, specific information up front and you will get better proposals and smoother service.

    • Date, guest count and postcode. The basics that unlock instant, all-inclusive pricing.
    • Service window. A sharp 60 minutes or a relaxed two hours will shape staffing and price.
    • Venue and access. Gate widths, vehicle route, ground conditions, lift sizes and the push distance to the set-up.
    • Power. Confirm sockets on site or request a generator. One dedicated 13 amp socket per unit is a good baseline.
    • Menu direction. Choose your headline theme, for example pizza and salad, BBQ boxes or paella plus crêpes.
    • Dietaries and allergens. Share early so prep, layout and labelling are correct.
    • Noise and neighbours. Set a friendly finish time, agree generator placement and keep music pointing inward.

Running order ideas that keep the day flowing:

    • Arrival snacks. A short savoury bite gives guests something to hold while the crowd builds.
    • Main serve. Two mains and one side over 90 to 120 minutes will feed 80 to 150 with no stress.
    • Coffee hour. An artisan cart during room turn lifts energy and pairs neatly with speeches.
    • Late-night top up. Pizza slices, loaded fries or mini crêpes keep dancing feet happy.

Booking With Us Is Refreshingly Simple

    • Shortlist favourites. We will check access, power and site rules so there are no surprises.
    • Confirm with secure payment. Your supplier locks the date and starts prep.
    • Receive straightforward updates as the day approaches. You always know what is happening and when.
    • Enjoy on-time arrival, quick set-up, service at pace and a tidy site at the end.

    • Clear updates, calm planning You will always know the next step and the timing. When you are informed, anxiety drops and enjoyment rises.

    • Easy discovery Enter a date, headcount and postcode. The right services appear straight away. No trawling, no second guessing.

    • Everything in one place Food, coffee, mobile bars and entertainment all live in one marketplace. Build the day you want without juggling suppliers.

    • Memorable by design We specialise in creative services that stand out for the right reasons. Your guests leave with a story and a smile.

    • Confidence built in Suppliers are carefully vetted. If plans change, we arrange suitable alternatives. Your booking is backed by a money-back guarantee, so your investment is protected.

Practical Checklist for Fields, Farms and Marquees

    • Access and parking. Confirm vehicle sizes, turning circles and drop points. Trackway helps on soft ground.
    • Power. One 13 amp socket per unit is a practical baseline. Pizza ovens and fryers may need more. If power is limited, request a right-sized silent generator.
    • Weather plan. Weighted shelters, side walls and a wet-weather option are wise, even in July.
    • Water and waste. Agree fill points, grey water disposal and bin locations. Keep recycling simple and visible.
    • Fire and safety. Enclosed electric kit near canvas, extinguishers on hand, clear routes for guests and crew.
    • Timings. Lock load-in, service window and load-out. Add buffers for speeches and photos.
    • Signage. A big menu board at eye level halves decision time.
    • Allergen display. Clear boards at the front of the stand build confidence and keep the line moving.

    Example Packages You Can Tailor

Use these as starting points, then tweak to suit your headcount, venue and budget.

    • Pizza and salad social Two toppings plus a vegan option, seasonal salad, two hour serve. Ideal for weddings and birthdays. Typically £10 to £15 per head, plus travel where applicable, minimum spend £900 to £1,200.

    • BBQ duo with veg headline One grilled meat, one plant-based main, slaw and pickles. Designed to serve 150 in 60 to 90 minutes with dual lines. Often £10 to £16 per head depending on access and power.

    • Paella and greens Seafood or chicken paella alongside a vibrant vegan pan, lemon, herbs and a crisp salad. Works for fields and barns. Usually £11 to £16 per head, with longer windows for weddings.

    • Crêpes and coffee finish Sweet crêpes with three classics and one special, artisan coffee cart for two hours. Pairs neatly with any savoury package. Pricing scales by headcount with small-event minimums.

    • Village green express Pizza by the slice or BBQ boxes for rolling service. Clear pricing, visible allergen boards, kid portions on request. Average ticket £9 to £12 per head, minimum covered by footfall.

    Sustainability That Feels Natural

Guests appreciate good choices. Ask suppliers for:

    • Compostable or recyclable packaging as standard.
    • Used oil recycling for fried menus.

Do street food caterers clean up after themselves?
Of course, they do! The caterer will clean the space before leaving the event area as part of the service. You can rely on the vendor to clean the serving area just as they met it. Note that the supplier will provide the necessary cutlery and crockery too. They will also provide tools and equipment such as meat carvers, spoons, tongs, stainless steel trays, and cooking ingredients.
How much time does it take to install a street food catering area?
It takes around one to two hours to install and cook fresh meals. Following the setup, you can anticipate enjoying the great dishes on the menu. The minimum space required is 3 meters by 3 meters, and access to electrical outlets is not mandatory. One of the additional necessities is a parking spot close by that is big enough for delivery vans so that the street food caterers can load and unload their supplies there.
