A fabulous 7 course tasting menu for family and friends to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. All the courses were very tasty and looked so attractive too. I was a bit nervous about hiring a private chef as it wasn't something I had done before. I chose someone who was local to the area & it transpired that I had dined at restaurants where he had worked & I had been happy with the food & service. Meeting James & his wife Natasha made me feel comfortable - James was very knowledgeable about his food & suppliers & we sorted out a menu. The occasion was a surprise birthday lunch for my husband & there were 8 of us. James & assistant arrived when expected to set up & were very professional but friendly & engaging. The event exceeded expectations. The food was beautifully presented & the flavours were delicious. The kitchen was cleared down after service & James left us with a fabulous cheeseboard to finish. I would not hesitate to recommend James and the company and I will be sure to use his services again in the future.

Matthew provided our wedding night private dining at the Millbrook Estate in Devon. He had worked with us to develop the three courses and we weren't disappointed. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We have no hesitation in recommending Matthew for your own event and know that you will be delighted. It didn't occur to us to take any photos but rest assured it all looked the part.

"Absolutely fantastic experience, we cannot recommend Hungry Chefs highly enough! Very professional team of chef & host who were extremely flexible in creating a bespoke menu for my husband's 40th birthday party. The food was of a fantastic standard using all locally sourced produce and I had every confidence in their delivery prior to the event due to the great level of communication. The lunch exceeded everyone's expectations. Claire & Umberto were extremely pleasant throughout the day and were always on hand to ensure the whole event went smoothly, pus cleaning up fully afterwards!"

We hold an annual friends Christmas party. This was the first time we have used a private chef, and will definitely be doing so again. The choice of menu that was available was amazing, almost too difficult to choose, and the company was great to deal with in the lead up to the event. On the night James arrived promptly and after being shown where everything was, just gone on with the preparation of the meal. The food was delicious, the service great and at the end of the meal the kitchen was left spotless. I would definitely recommend Chef at Home by James Howe to others.
