Marc was simply 1st-class for what we were seeking. Extremely talented & fun ukulele, piano, vocals, immense song list to choose from to fit your audience/guests. Eve of wedding night at Ellingham Hall, Northumberland. 3x45 min sets, the final one we wanted to do a surprise singalong around the piano/ukulele with song-sheets (we printed). 65 guests had a wonderful joyous evening that they’ve not stopped talking about. Created unforgettable family & friends memories, photos & videos, broke the ice for folks who didn’t know each other setting up a fabulous wedding weekend. Very very good value for money compared to what other bands & wedding entertainers are charging now for shorter time periods. Absolutely recommend Marc, lovely guy, just book him. Thank you Marc 👏👏👏

Scott was the absolutel perfect fit on Friday for our wedding. Even the build up to it he was always on hand to accomodate our last minute track list changes. On the day he made us feel so relaxed, he set up in plenty of time and was even kind enough to don some fancy dress to replicate Elton John's RocketMan! If you're looking for a lovely man to play some top piano tunes, sing his heart out and be a colourful addition to your party then please contact Scott. You will not be disappointed (photos to follow)

Emma sang at our wedding on the 12th November and was amazing, we knew she had an amazing voice from seeing clips of her singing but she gave us both goosebumps on the day when she sang me down the aisle. All of our guests raved about her well into the evening reception and we've had many requests to try and book Emma again for our belated wedding reception at home in April so 🤞🤞 Worth every penny x

"Sorry it’s not clear whether 1 is the best or 5 so I guessed 1st place! Kimm was absolutely sensational. She went above and beyond throughout the run up to the wedding answering all questions very quickly and nothing was too much trouble, including learning 3 brand new songs. She blew all my guests away, in fact many were interested in her singing at future events. Thank you so much for your assistance."

We delivered next level parties for exceptional companies

We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.

Hire a Singing Pianist in the UK: A Buyer’s Guide

If you’re after live music that feels stylish, flexible, and genuinely personal, a singing pianist is a brilliant shout. One performer can set the tone for a ceremony, warm up a drinks reception, and lift the energy for an evening do, all while keeping the footprint neat and the vibe effortless. In this guide we’ll walk through when to book a singing pianist in the UK, what to expect on the day, how to plan a set list that fits your crowd, and how pricing typically works. We’ll also show how we make booking simple, secure, and quick, so you spend more time enjoying your party and less time chasing quotes.

Why choose a singing pianist

A singing pianist blends two roles in one. You get the intimacy of a vocalist who can read the room, alongside the warm, classy sound of keys that never feel intrusive. That combination works beautifully for everything from bridal entrances to background dining sets to upbeat singalongs later on. Because it’s one act, we can switch gears quickly. Quiet and romantic for the vows. Jazzy during canapés. Pop anthems to nudge the dance floor into action.

With many venues in the UK offering a house piano or sufficient space for a keyboard, a singing pianist makes practical sense too. Load-in is light, set-up is fast, and sound levels are easy to manage. If your venue has neighbours or a sound limiter, this is a safe and stylish option.

Perfect occasions for a singing pianist

We often recommend a singing pianist for:

  • Rustic weddings where the ceremony needs something heartfelt and the barn reception suits warm, acoustic-friendly music
  • Private dinners where conversation comes first and the music needs to be chic without overpowering the room
  • Corporate away-days where a tasteful soundtrack helps networking feel natural and the atmosphere stays relaxed
  • Country-house weekends where guests drift between rooms and the performer becomes the musical host

If you’re planning a mixed-age crowd, this format shines. A good performer moves from classic soul to current chart tunes without losing anyone.

Venues and spaces that suit the setup

A singing pianist fits into more places than you might expect:

  • Barns and country houses that already have a piano or can accommodate a compact keyboard rig
  • Marquees where space is at a premium and low noise is a must during dining
  • Golf clubs that prefer a refined look for drinks receptions and awards dinners
  • Boutique inns where ceilings are lower, rooms are intimate, and the audience sits close

If your venue has a playable piano, we’ll check it in advance. If not, most performers bring a professional keyboard that sounds authentic and looks smart. Either way, we’ll keep the footprint tidy and the load-in discreet.

The travelling piano lounge idea

Think of your event as a roaming piano lounge. The music moves with the moment. Ceremony ballads with just voice and keys. Cocktail hour with mellow jazz and blues. Dinner service with timeless favourites that keep toes tapping. Later in the evening, the same performer can lead a cheerful singalong. This approach works whether the instrument is the venue’s grand or a compact stage piano. The repertoire flexes to match the space, the crowd, and the mood.

Building a set list that feels like you

We’ll help shape a set list that reflects your taste and suits the flow of the day.

  • Ceremony highlights. Pick two to three meaningful songs for entrance, signing, and exit. Ballads work well, but a stripped-back pop classic can be just as moving.
  • Drinks reception. Light, feel-good tunes with a touch of jazz or soul keep energy up without competing with conversation.
  • Dinner sets. Add well-known melodies across decades. If guests hum along between courses, we’re on the right track.
  • After-dinner lift. A run of crowd-pleasers brings the room together. Think singalong choruses that span generations.

We recommend sharing a few must-plays and a short do-not-play list. After that, trust the performer to read the room. That balance keeps sets natural and responsive.

Requests and special moments

A singing pianist handles requests better than most formats. Because it’s one musician with a flexible instrument, changes happen on the fly. Want to shift from Motown to modern? No problem. Want a short toast underscored by a gentle piano theme? Done. For first dances or anything that needs extra care, we’ll confirm the key and arrangement early, then the performer will rehearse it to your spec.

Sound, space, and small technical bits

Here’s what we typically plan for:

  • Footprint. A keyboard and mic need roughly two by two metres. Add a small speaker and you’re set.
  • Power. One standard socket is usually enough. We’ll run neat cable covers for safety.
  • Volume. We’ll set levels for conversation. If your venue has a limiter, we’ll work within it.
  • Pianos. Using a house piano? We’ll ask about tuning and location. If it’s not ideal, the performer brings a stage piano.
  • Outdoors. In a marquee or garden, we’ll look at weather cover and stable flooring. Damp grass and electrics don’t mix.
  • Changeovers. If you’re moving between spaces, we’ll map a simple plan so the music flows without awkward gaps.

Typical pricing in the UK

Most singing pianists in the UK sit between £300 and £800. Where you land depends on:

  • Performance length and the number of sets
  • Travel time and arrival requirements
  • Whether you’re using a venue piano or the performer’s full keyboard rig
  • Peak dates versus weekdays
  • Additional learning for bespoke songs

As a rule, shorter daytime bookings like a ceremony plus drinks set will be toward the lower end. Evenings that include dinner and an after-dinner lift trend higher. If you’re comparing quotes, check what’s included. Many of our acts price all-in with sound, keyboard, and background playlists for breaks.

How to narrow your shortlist

When you’re browsing singing pianists in the UK, use these quick checks:

  • Listen carefully to live clips. You want confident vocals, tasteful phrasing, and dynamic control.
  • Scan the song list. Look for breadth across decades and the genres your crowd will recognise.
  • Read recent reviews. You’re after notes about reliability, adaptability, and how the performer worked with the room.
  • Confirm flexibility. Can they arrive early, split sets, or move spaces if your plan needs it?
  • Ask about requests. Most will learn one or two special songs with notice.

Once you’ve ticked those boxes, you’re choosing between good and great. That’s where style and personality win it.

Planning your timeline

A simple plan keeps everything smooth:

  • Ceremony start time with cues for entrance and exit
  • Drinks reception duration and location
  • Dinner service timing and any speeches that need underscoring
  • Transition to evening mood with a short break before the upbeat set

Share your running order, then leave the musical pacing to us. We’ll align set lengths with service and speeches so nothing clashes.

What we handle for you

We’ll coordinate the practicalities so you don’t have to:

  • Liaise with the venue about power, access, and piano details
  • Confirm arrival, set-up, and soundcheck windows
  • Provide PAT and public liability info if the venue asks
  • Agree set lists, requests, and any special cues
  • Offer back-up options if a curveball appears

The goal is simple. You feel informed and relaxed, and the music turns up exactly as planned.

Putting it all together

Let’s say you’re hosting a country-house weekend. The singing pianist welcomes guests as they arrive, plays your aisle song during the ceremony, and eases into mellow soul for drinks on the lawn. During dinner, you hear familiar tunes that keep the room light and happy. After dessert, it’s time for a ten-song burst of singalong favourites. Guests stay at tables or drift to a small space to sway and belt out choruses. It feels considered, personal, and never too loud. That’s the travelling piano lounge feel in action.

Budget tips

If you’re aiming for the lower half of the £300 to £800 range, consider weekday dates, compact performance windows, and using the venue’s piano where it makes sense. If you want more scope for requests and movement between spaces, or if the date is prime, plan toward the upper end. Either way, we’ll keep pricing clear and inclusive so there are no surprise add-ons.

Next steps
