We were very pleased with the communication and they were fine with date changes due to covid and the service they provided and everyone at our wedding loved the fountains. They turned up on time and started and finished on time as requested. We would recommend. Thank you Sprinkle with Fairy Dust.

Booked for Hen party
Carly was really friendly and comfortable to be around! We all had a really great time, we even had to rearrange drinks last minute due to one of us finding out they were pregnant. She made her mocktails so she could still join in with us all and even gave her a bottle of alcohol free gin to keep! All 10 of us really enjoyed our evening thanks to you, would definitely book for future events ❤️ Thanks Carly!🎉

"We are generally satisfied with Forever After and the chocolate fountain they provided for the wedding. They discretely set up and kept the DJ informed so guests would know how long it was running for. We had a gluten free fountain as two of my immediate family are coaliacs. The chocolate was good, and we had a range of dips including a lovely flapjack.
We found arranging the chocolate fountain through Poptop to be easily and they provided a very responsive and friendly service."

"On the night the chocolate fountain was super, and the options to go on the kebab stick were great. and the candy floss machine was lovely.
We just had a bit of communication difficulty in the middle, so I think Ever So Sweet just need to make sure they have paperwork printed with customer contact details on should all phones and accounts get hacked."
We delivered next level parties for exceptional companies
We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.
Hiring Chocolate Fountains in Edinburgh: A Buyer’s Guide to Sweet Success
Searching for Chocolate Fountains in Edinburgh? You’re in the right place. Whether you’re planning a castle wedding, a Highland gathering or a glittering festival celebration, a flowing tower of molten chocolate is one of those crowd-pleasers that never fails. It’s theatrical, indulgent and surprisingly versatile.
We’ve helped organise everything from elegant receptions in historic venues to high-footfall festival parties across the city. So in this guide, we’ll walk you through what to expect, how much to budget, what works best in Edinburgh’s unique venues, and how to make sure your chocolate fountain is the star of the show rather than a sticky afterthought.
Let’s get into it.
Why Chocolate Fountains Work So Well in Edinburgh
Edinburgh knows how to host an event. From summer festivals to winter weddings in candlelit halls, the city has a flair for atmosphere. Chocolate fountains slot neatly into that tradition.
Here’s why they’re such a good fit:
They suit grand, historic backdrops like castles and stately halls
They add theatre to festival-style gatherings
They work equally well for formal weddings and relaxed celebrations
They create a natural guest interaction point
In a city famous for its festivals and historic architecture, you want something that feels both indulgent and a little bit special. A chocolate fountain ticks both boxes.
What Types of Events Hire Chocolate Fountains in Edinburgh?
Chocolate Fountains in Edinburgh are booked for far more than just weddings. We regularly see them at:
Weddings in Castles and Country Estates
There’s something rather lovely about guests dipping strawberries and marshmallows beneath vaulted ceilings or in a candlelit reception room. For classic and elegant wedding themes, a dark or milk chocolate fountain pairs beautifully with refined décor.
For larger castle weddings, fountains often become a late-evening treat once the dancing is in full swing. It keeps guests fuelled and adds a playful moment to a formal day.
Festival Events and Fringe Celebrations
During festival season, event planners look for eye-catching features that draw a crowd. A chocolate fountain, especially with festival sparkle styling, does just that.
Think branded napkins, themed dipping treats and a vibrant set-up that complements the energy of the event. For corporate festival activations or ticketed events, it’s a simple way to boost guest satisfaction.

Curated suppliers
All Poptop’s suppliers are rigorously vetted and approved by our team of party experts, ensuring you book the very best.
Highland events often blend tradition with celebration. A chocolate fountain adds a modern indulgence without clashing with heritage surroundings.
We’ve seen them work particularly well at:
Community celebrations in town halls
Charity balls with Scottish themes
Private Highland estate parties
It’s a clever way to add a sweet twist to a traditional setting.
Choosing the Right Venue Setup
Edinburgh venues are full of character, which is wonderful, but it does mean you need to think practically.
Castles and Historic Buildings
Many castles and listed buildings have restrictions around power supply, access and layout. Before booking your chocolate fountain, check:
Is there easy access for equipment set-up?
Are there power sockets nearby?
Is there enough space to allow guests to queue comfortably?
Professional suppliers are used to working in historic venues and will liaise with you about logistics. It’s worth confirming these details early to avoid last-minute surprises.
Festival Venues and Temporary Structures
If you’re hosting an event in a marquee or temporary festival space, stability and hygiene are key.
Make sure:
The surface is level
The area is sheltered from wind
There’s a clear serving area to manage flow
In busy festival environments, having a staffed fountain is essential. It keeps everything moving smoothly and avoids the dreaded chocolate bottleneck.
Town Halls and Community Spaces
Town halls are popular for weddings and local events. They often offer generous space, but layout planning is important.
Position the fountain:
Away from main entrances
Near, but not blocking, the dance floor
In a spot that encourages circulation
Done right, it becomes a natural social hub.
Styling: Classic Elegance or Festival Sparkle?
One of the biggest advantages of hiring a chocolate fountain in Edinburgh is flexibility.
Classic and Elegant
For formal weddings and black-tie events, go for:
Neutral table linens
Coordinated dipping treats such as strawberries, profiteroles and shortbread
Subtle lighting to enhance the chocolate’s glossy flow
This approach complements traditional Scottish venues without overpowering them.
Festival Sparkle
For lively events, you can dial up the fun:
Colourful décor
Themed skewers
Branded elements for corporate events
It’s a small addition that can elevate the entire look and feel of your dessert offering.
How Much Do Chocolate Fountains Cost in Edinburgh?
For Chocolate Fountains in Edinburgh, you can expect prices typically between £160 and £530.
Where you land in that range depends on:
Guest numbers
Duration of hire
Size of fountain
Type of chocolate
Staffing requirements
Smaller private parties in town halls will sit towards the lower end. Large castle weddings or festival events with high guest numbers will move closer to the upper bracket.
When budgeting, remember that value isn’t just about the fountain itself. You’re paying for professional set-up, quality chocolate, hygiene standards and service.
What to Ask Before You Book
To make sure you’re getting exactly what you need, ask suppliers:
How many guests does this fountain cater for?
Is it staffed throughout?
What dipping items are included?
How long is the service period?
What are the space and power requirements?
Clarity upfront means no awkward moments on the day.
