Would highly recommend - we held a camping party of around 70 guests for a combined hen/stag-do and requested the chickpea masala and potato & spinach, along with samosas and bhajis - all of which was delicious!
Asad was super responsive and very friendly. He was understanding and easy to communicate with, which was important for us as we had two guests with severe nut allergies and one coeliac, who were all carefully catered for. Although usually he said that they can't ensure that the (did I already say delicious?!) samosas aren't cross-contaminated with nuts, Asad went the extra mile and sourced nut-free pastry so that the bride (who was one of the two guests with a nut allergy) could eat them. He also made sure the samosas were safely stored away from the rest of the food to make sure the pastry didn't cross contaminate the rest of the food for the coeliac guest.
All in all a great experience and the guests all loved it!

EXCEPTIONAL
Denis and his team were brilliant from start to finish. Denis provided quick responses throughout the planning process. Nothing was ever too much to ask for.
On the day, Denis and his team were polite, hardworking and the food tasted lovely! A special mention for Natasha, who was brilliant at coordinating the service and their team on the night.
We would book again.
Many thanks

Luke and the team were great and the overall service was good. They were friendly and the food was good. The only downside was the service was slow, people were cueing for an hour for a burger. But it was a street party so people were being sociable so it didn’t matter too much but an hour was too long. Thanks everyone

We had a great experience with Black Star Kitchen. They had a great variety of options in their menu to us to chose from. Les' communication leading up to the event was really clear. They set up in our garden, and were totally self sufficient, only needing 1 extension lead plugged in. Our guests were really happy with the delicious food, and we received loads of compliments about it. Les and his assistant on the night were engaging, friendly and chatty with everyone, and helped make our 'big' birthday really special.

Fantastic service, good communication throughout, and a lovely team on the day - I would definitely recommend Flamin Nora for your event!

We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.
Street Food Catering in London: a practical buyer’s guide
Street food catering in London is quick to set up, big on flavour, and effortless to book when you know what to ask for. Whether you are feeding a sunny rooftop party, fuelling a creative office, making noise for a brand launch, or keeping wedding guests lively between photos, street food caterers bring a buzz that plated dining often can’t match. In this guide, we explain how to choose the right supplier, what it costs in the capital, which venues work best, and how to lock in a plan that feels personal. If you are searching for Street Food Catering in London, you are in the right place.
We have helped thousands of London hosts pick reliable, great-value street food. We will walk you through menus, access, power, service timings and all the fiddly bits that make a good idea a great event. The aim is simple, a plan that fits your budget and makes guests very happy.
When street food shines in the capital
Summer parties that feel like a festival
London comes alive in summer. Street food is perfect for relaxed roof gatherings, courtyard socials and canal-side meetups. Guests grab a bowl, have a chat, go back for seconds, then find the sun again. It is informal without being messy, and it scales from 40 to 400 with the same footprint. Think tacos with zingy salsas, bao buns that are gone in two bites, jerk dishes that smell like holidays, or wood-fired pizza for the crowd that wants familiar comfort.
Office lunches that run on time
Teams in London are busy, and lunch windows are short. Street food traders who know their way around loading bays, lifts and speed-service can feed 100 people in under an hour if the menu is focused. A simple two-item choice, a clear vegetarian or vegan option, and pre-advised allergens keep the queue moving, which means everyone gets fed and meetings start on time.
Brand activations that need theatre
If you need photos and a moment, street food stands deliver. Branded cups for artisan coffee, steam rolling off gyoza, a pizza coming out of the oven, or a flat-top loaded with smash burgers, it is all content. London footfall is competitive, so choose a menu that cooks hot and fast, smells fantastic, and can be handed out in seconds. Sampling works best with small, consistent portions and a one-liner from the server that says what it is without a script.
Weddings that feel modern, not stiff
A lot of London couples are moving to relaxed wedding formats. Street food at receptions keeps energy high and lines short. It is also an easy way to handle mixed diets. Vegan and free-from guests get a full plate rather than a replacement. Add artisan coffee for the afternoon lull or late-night fries for the dance floor and you have a day that feels curated rather than over-managed.

Curated suppliers
All Poptop’s suppliers are rigorously vetted and approved by our team of party experts, ensuring you book the very best.
Rooftops
Great views, tight access. Ask about load-in routes, lift sizes and wind plans. Open flames may be restricted, so many traders bring electric kit or enclosed ovens. Rooftops need a clear weather backup for August showers and October breezes. Power often comes in limited circuits. A 16 amp supply per unit is a good baseline. If in doubt, we can match you with traders who bring silent generators.
Courtyards
Courtyards are street food heaven. They give you ventilation, space for queues and a natural flow for guests. Confirm whether vehicles can enter or if equipment must be wheeled through a building. If you have neighbours, agree a finish time that works with local noise rules and keep any music pointed inward.
Museums and heritage sites
Many London heritage venues allow street food if cooking is contained and the site is protected. Expect to cook outside or in a service yard, with food passed indoors. Traders familiar with conservation rules will use drip trays, floor protection and enclosed kit. It is worth it for the atmosphere, just plan the extra steps.
City parks and public spaces
Parks require permission. London boroughs each have permit processes that set service times, locations and waste plans. It can take time to secure approval, so start early. If you are going ahead, choose compact menus that serve fast and produce minimal waste. Bring everything in, take everything out, and keep the site cleaner than you found it.
Menu themes that win in London
Global fusion that feels fresh
London guests love a twist. Bao with crispy mushrooms and sesame drizzle. Tacos with lime-pickled onions. Loaded fries with Korean-style toppings. A single trader can handle a fun mash-up if the prep is clever and the service line is tight. Keep the core proteins simple, let the flavour live in sauces, and you will move the queue without losing the spark.
Vegan and free-from that is first choice
Vegan in London is not a side note. A full plant-based option should feel like the headline rather than the backup. Think charred cauliflower with spiced grains, chickpea patties that actually satisfy, or falafel wraps with crunchy pickles. Ask suppliers to flag gluten-free, nut-free and dairy-free options clearly at the front of the stand and on your pre-event menu, so guests know what to grab without a quiz.
Artisan coffee that keeps the day flowing
From morning set-ups to late-night encores, coffee keeps people sharp. A compact coffee cart fits almost anywhere, and baristas who can pull a perfect flat white at speed are worth their weight in beans. Add hot chocolate for winter events and iced options for summer rooftops. If you are brand-facing, custom cups make a simple impression.
What street food costs in London
Most street food menus in London land between £12 and £20 per person, depending on cuisine, service time and guest count. Minimum spends are common in the city, usually £1,000 to £1,500. That means a small team lunch of 50 guests at £15 per person hits the minimum comfortably, while a boutique gathering of 30 guests may still need the minimum spend to cover staffing, travel and prep.
Expect your price to include food, serving staff, disposables and basic set-up. Generators, premium compostable packaging, extended service windows, and additional dietary tweaks may add cost. London-specific factors can also shape the total:
Travel and parking within the Congestion Charge and ULEZ zones
Building access that needs extra crew time for lifts and long pushes
Venue restrictions that require electric rather than gas kit
Later finishes that bring night rates
If your brief is flexible, you can keep costs in the sweet spot. A two-hour serve, a focused menu of two mains plus one side, and a realistic guest count is the efficient formula in London.
How booking works with us
We keep this straightforward from the first click to the last crumb.
Share your date, guest count and postcode, and you will instantly see street food caterers that fit your location, budget and brief.
Compare all-inclusive prices, menus and service details in one place, so there is no waiting for quotes or chasing email trails.

Get proactive updates from us and the caterer. You know what is happening and when, so there are no nerves.
On the day, the team arrives on time, sets up fast, serves at pace, and leaves the space tidy. You get the credit for a plan that just worked.
Why hosts choose Poptop for London street food
We have built a marketplace for people who want simple answers and excellent service.
You get a genuinely friendly attitude. We work with suppliers known for warm service as well as strong logistics. Guests feel looked after, not processed.
You plan in minutes, not days. Instant, all-inclusive pricing means you make a choice now and move on with your to-do list.
You get an event that is uniquely yours. Menus can be adapted for dietary needs and personal favourites. If you want a spice level dialled in or a nod to a family dish, say the word.
You relax because you are informed. Clear updates at every step remove the guesswork. You always know what is next.
You find what you need easily. Put in a date, guest count and postcode, and the right street food caterers appear, ready to book.
You discover everything in one place. Food, coffee, bars and entertainment are all here, so you can build your event without hopping sites.
You host a party people remember. The marketplace is full of creative options that stand out without getting weird for the sake of it.
You book with confidence. Suppliers are vetted, alternatives are arranged if needed, and you are protected by our money-back guarantee.
Building a menu guests will talk about
Street food works best when choice feels generous but not overwhelming. Aim for two mains and one side or salad. Add a dessert only if time allows. Keep sauces labelled and in reach. Put plant-based options upfront rather than hidden at the end. Ask for a kids-friendly tweak if you expect families. For spice, offer a gentle base with optional heat on the side.
If you are feeding an office, consider a rotating menu for multi-day projects. Day one tacos, day two bao, day three loaded bowls. The price stays in range, the team stays interested, and you keep dietary coverage consistent across the week.
For weddings, plan the timing around speeches and photos. A quick savoury serve post-ceremony, coffee for the lull, then late-evening bites to refuel the dance floor. Street food thrives in these moments because it moves with the day rather than fighting it.
The London logistics checklist
Access and parking. Can a vehicle get close to the service point, or will equipment be wheeled through corridors and lifts
Power. Is there a reliable 13 amp or 16 amp supply per unit, or should we bring a generator
Fire and ventilation rules. Are open flames allowed, or should we specify electric kit
Waste and recycling. Where should the team dispose of packaging and food waste after service
Water. Is there a tap on site, or should the caterer bring water and grey-water solutions
Timings. What is the earliest load-in and the latest load-out the venue allows
Weather. Rooftops and courtyards need a rain plan and wind strategy
Noise. If you have neighbours, agree a service end time that keeps the peace
Security and ID. Some central buildings require pre-booked access and badges for crew
Allergens. Confirm labelling requirements and any guest alerts in advance
Ticking these items early saves money and removes stress. We will cover them with you during booking so there are no surprises on the day.
Sustainable choices that make sense
Many London street food caterers already use compostable packaging and source locally where possible. If sustainability matters to you, ask for:
Compostable or recyclable packaging as standard
Oil recycling for fried dishes
Local suppliers for bread, produce and coffee beans
A waste-minimising menu that cooks to order and cuts leftovers
Generator plans that avoid oversized units
Small details add up, especially in venues where sustainability is part of the brand story.
Example packages and typical costs
To help you picture the budget, here are sample structures that fit the London market. Exact prices depend on date, service time and final numbers, but these sit within the usual range.
Street classics package. Two mains, one side, eco disposables, two-hour service. Typical menus include tacos with a meat and a vegan option, or wood-fired pizza with two toppings plus a salad. Expect £12 to £16 per person, with a minimum spend of £1,000 to £1,500.
Global small plates package. Three small dishes per guest, designed for mingling. Bao buns, gyoza or loaded fries with a plant-based hero item. Usually £14 to £18 per person, efficient for 80 to 150 guests.
Office power lunch. One hot main with a grab-and-go salad. Fast line, allergen labelling at the front, served in 60 minutes. Around £12 to £15 per person for 60 to 120 guests.
Wedding street feast. Two mains, one side, late-night snack add-on. Includes a longer service window and extra staffing. Often £16 to £20 per person for 100 plus guests.
Coffee and bakes add-on. Espresso bar for two hours with batch brew, teas and a simple cake selection. Priced by headcount with a minimum spend that pairs neatly with food.
If you are sitting right on the minimum spend with a small headcount, extend service or add coffee rather than paying for food you will not eat. You will get more value without breaking the budget.
Your next step
If you are planning Street Food Catering in London, tell us your date, guest count and postcode. We will surface the best matched caterers with instant, all-inclusive prices. We will check the fine print like access, power and permits, then help you tailor the menu so every guest feels considered. Booking takes minutes. The peace of mind lasts until the last cup of coffee.
Poptop is more than a marketplace. It is the most reliable and straightforward way to run an unforgettable event in London. Friendly teams, quick decisions, clear updates and a safety net if plans change. Choose your favourite street food, lock in the details, and host a party people remember for all the right reasons.
The price includes the quantity of food each guest will receive during the event, the customized menu, and the equipment used. This means your price varies according to the size of the catering services demanded.
How much time do you need to set up a street food stall?
The caterer will need at least 45 minutes to 1 hour before the event to set up the street food stall. However, the time may vary based on the space requirement and your caterer. You can find the time requirements in a service description.
Who provides crockery and cutlery?
The caterer will provide the crockery and cutlery depending on the food they deliver. So, the caterers will deliver the equipment, including paper cups, cutlery, and other equipment, if needed for their services.
