Kelly's Heroes were a hoot! They had all of our guests up dancing and enjoying a right session! Playing some of our favourites and a mixture of reels and jigs, all of our guests loved having them. Helen was very helpful with us when we were going through the booking process, they were very professional on the day too and made us feel like everything was always under control. It was nice to be able to just relax and enjoy their music! Thank you for everything, Cian & Jasmin

Price of My Pig were fantastic. We hired them for our wedding evening, as we wanted to have a Ceilidh for the guests.
The band was flexible to meet our requirements for during the buffet, and were excellent at getting all of the guests involved and on the dance floor, to make sure that there was always dancing going on!
The music was fantastic, and the musicians were incredible.
Thank you Ben and the band for making our wedding evening a blast!

When an Irish band is the perfect fit in Liverpool
Irish music is warm, rhythmic and social. It gets people smiling within a few bars, then invites them to join in. In Liverpool that works a treat across a wide mix of events.
Weddings that start with an acoustic welcome and finish with every generation on the floor.
Football-themed parties where the room wants a singalong and a few cheeky nods to the city’s love of big choruses.
Waterfront events that begin laid back at sunset and grow into a lively, dance-ready second half.
St Paddy’s gigs where guests expect classic tunes, friendly banter and a final set that lifts the roof.
Milestone birthdays where conversation comes first and then everyone wants to belt a chorus together.
If your guest list ranges from kids to grandparents, or if you are mixing colleagues with friends, an Irish band is clever glue. It brings the room together fast without feeling pushy.
Lineups that suit Liverpool spaces
Liverpool venues come in all shapes, from dockside warehouses to intimate arts spaces. Irish bands are flexible by design, which makes matching the lineup to the room straightforward.
Acoustic trio for receptions. Guitar, fiddle and bodhrán or cajón. Ideal for boutique hotels, galleries and ceremonies, and a neat way to start a waterfront evening before speeches.
Trad session early, dance later. A quartet that opens with reels and jigs, then adds vocal-led covers for the late set. Great for social clubs and function rooms where you want a natural build.
Caller-supported ceilidh segment. Three to five musicians plus a caller who teaches the steps. Use this as a mid-evening icebreaker if you want guaranteed involvement. It works especially well in larger halls and warehouses.

Full evening Irish band. Four or five piece with fiddle hooks, tight harmonies and a rhythm section that keeps the floor moving. Expect a mix of classics and modern crowd pleasers so the final stretch feels like a celebration.
A quartet is the sweet spot for most briefs in the city, because it covers reception background, ceilidh blocks and singalong choruses without needing a huge stage. If your space is tight, a trio still sounds surprisingly big in Liverpool rooms with lively acoustics.
The sound of the night
You want a set that feels honest early on and euphoric at the end. A strong Liverpool Irish band will shape the repertoire so guests recognise the flavour straight away, then feel invited to sing and dance.
Early session feel. Reels, jigs and familiar instrumentals sit well with drinks and photos. The pace is bright but never intrusive.
Vocal heart. A few story-driven ballads or stripped-back covers give you moments for first dances, toasts and dedications.
Singalong choruses. Later in the night the band leans into songs everyone can join. Fiddle hooks carry the melody, guitar and percussion push the tempo, and harmonies lift the room.
Modern touches. Thoughtful reworks of indie or pop favourites keep younger guests engaged without losing the Irish character.
Special requests. Most bands can learn one or two personal songs if they suit the instruments. Share these early so the arrangement lands cleanly.
Tell us your must-plays and any no-go tracks. We will brief the band so the set reflects you, not a fixed list.
Pricing in Liverpool explained
Professional Irish bands in Liverpool typically range from £700 to £1,300. Where your quote lands depends on a few clear factors.
Headcount. Trios sit at the lower end, five piece bands sit higher.
Time on site. Two sets of 45 to 60 minutes is standard. Longer evenings or split sets change the fee.
Caller option. Adding a caller for a ceilidh block is a specialist addition and well worth it if you want guaranteed participation.
Equipment. Some bands supply PA and simple lighting, others connect to house systems.
Date and demand. St Paddy’s week, peak summer Saturdays and December weekends book early and price accordingly.
Logistics. City centre access, waterfront load-ins and late finishes can add modest costs that we show up front.
On Poptop you see instant, all-inclusive prices before you message anyone. Adjust the brief and you see the difference immediately, which keeps decisions quick.
Match the music to the room
Every space has its quirks. A little local knowledge makes a big difference to sound, comfort and flow.
Dockside warehouses
High ceilings and hard surfaces give you natural reverb. Bands who know these rooms manage dynamics so the music fills the space without turning muddy. If you plan a ceilidh block, the caller will choose patterns that travel well across long floors. Allow time for load-in, since waterfront access can be busy.
Boutique hotels
These spaces reward neat staging, tidy cable runs and clear volume control. A trio or quartet is usually more than enough, with a small PA and a tasteful lighting wash. If your timeline includes speeches and cake cutting, build short music cues around them so the night keeps moving.
Social clubs
Social clubs love a singalong. Keep the early set relaxed and familiar, then save the big choruses for later. A four piece with a confident vocalist works well, and you can add a short ceilidh block if the room is keen to move.
Arts spaces
Galleries and creative studios often have crisp acoustics and early curfews. An acoustic or semi-acoustic approach keeps things elegant. Plan the transition from exhibition viewing or drinks to the first dance with a short, well-placed tune that gathers attention.
Waterfront and open air
Sea air can be breezy. Microphones, music stands and lighting benefit from subtle wind protection. Stable flooring helps percussion and prevents kit from wandering. Agree a simple weather plan so you can pivot to an indoor area if conditions change.
Running orders that deliver
A clean schedule is your friend. Use these outlines as a starting point and we will tailor them to suit your timings, venue rules and guest mix.
Weddings
Ceremony music by an instrumental duo or trio for aisle walk and exit.
Drinks reception with a trad session feel, gentle enough for conversation and photos.
Dinner with light instrumentals or a curated playlist. The band takes a break and resets.
First dance live, then two 45-minute evening sets with a short ceilidh block in the middle if you want a guaranteed icebreaker.
Finale with singalong choruses that involve every generation.
Football-themed parties
Arrival with upbeat instrumentals and a few hints of the songs everyone knows.
Short welcome from the host, then a 15-minute guided dance or a simple call-and-response number to break the ice.
Main set with a mix of trad and reworked anthems. Keep it tasteful and joyful rather than a full chant session.
Final run of high-energy tunes so the party closes on a proper high.
Waterfront events
Sunset acoustic set while guests settle with a view.
Short pause for speeches or presentations.
Livelier second half as lights go up, with vocal-led numbers and friendly banter.
If neighbours are close, finish with an unplugged circle to keep the mood warm without pushing volume.
St Paddy’s gigs
Open strong with familiar trad favourites, then a ceilidh block while energy is at its peak.
A gentle mid-set breather with acoustic covers.
Second ceilidh block or a straight run of singalong crowd pleasers to carry the night.
Encore that sends everyone out smiling.
Milestone birthdays
Curated early playlist built around the guest of honour’s taste.
Two short live sets rather than one long one, to keep space for toasts and cake.
A final 30 minutes that leans into choruses everyone can belt together.
Technical notes that keep the night smooth
Liverpool venues are helpful when you give them clarity. A few practical details remove friction.
Power and space. Two standard sockets close to the performance area and roughly three by four metres for a quartet. A trio can tuck into smaller corners.
Access and parking. Share load-in routes, lifts, parking rules and any time limits. We will align the arrival plan so the band is ready before guests enter.
Sound limiters. Many hotels and arts spaces use them. Experienced bands work within them and keep the energy high.
Shared tech. If you also have a DJ or a venue technician, we will agree handovers and equipment sharing so there is no silence between sets.
Break music. Most bands provide playlist tracks between sets. If you want a full DJ finish, we can add one or coordinate with your chosen DJ.
Shortlist smarter
A few quick checks help you decide fast and avoid surprises.
Watch videos that show both the quiet end of the spectrum and the big finish. Dynamics matter more than a highlight reel.
Read reviews from events that look like yours. Dockside spaces, social clubs and boutique hotels all behave differently.
If you want a ceilidh segment, pick bands that list a dedicated caller and talk about teaching beginners.
Confirm what is included. PA, simple lighting, arrival times, set lengths and public liability insurance should be clear.
Ask for a sample running order for your timings and layout. The best bands explain how they will shape the night, not only what they play.
If two bands seem equal, the one that communicates quickly and answers your venue questions clearly usually proves the safer choice.
