Martin is a pleasure to have in your home. What a superstar. Helped to celebrate our mums milestone birthday in relaxed style with exquisite cuisine. Fantastic food, served with a down to earth, comfortable atmosphere, where absolutely everything was right on point. Even helped served the smaller children our prepared meal (above and beyond - totally out of contract - and we were extremely thankful). We’d have Martin back in a flash, and hope to visit his restaurants in Southampton soon! Really enjoyed the evening, the food was both excellent and incredibly filling, served beautifully and excellent value for money. Thank you Martin for an excellent evening x

The chef provided good quality food and a friendly service. We had a five course meal and the mains were much larger portions than expected. Chef arrived on time and the five courses were served on time and in good sequence. It should be noted that you are hiring a chef and not a catering company so once the final course is brought to the table the chef will leave. You will therefore be left with quite a lot of clearing up to do. Final course plates and cutlery, wine glasses, coffee and all the table ware.
The quotation process did not work well. The initial quotation failed to mention that a variation in the main menu choice would result in extra costs and the requirement for a chef if more than eight persons were attending the experience. The chef did not know anything about the discount applied on the initial quotation.
The communication between supplier and Poptop definitely needs improvement to avoid ‘surprises’ between original and final quotations!

The experience of having a chef in our home was truly wonderful, allowing us to enjoy our special occasion and family time together. Karl was punctual, polite, friendly and left the kitchen looking immaculate after he'd finished cooking for us as a party of 10 people.
Oh, and didi I mention how tasty the food was?? Ok, he was probably on a dead cert because we'd discussed together what the menu should be, and agreed a 3 course lunch to satisfy 3 generations... Yes, it was really lovely. Thoroughly recommend the whole service. Enjoy!

Carly was entertaining, knowledgeable and we all had a great time. She went above and beyond doing mocktails for the kids so they weren’t left out. Will definitely be using again! Thanks for a great experience

"Ian took a complicated brief from me to produce a nine course meal for 20 people in a venue with limited facilities. Before the event his communication was first rate. He came up with outstanding menu and on the night delivered a spectacular meal. Every one of my guests commented on how fantastic the food and service was.
Ian put together an excellent team, liaised with the venue, organised all of the logistics and was even able to recommend and supply some fantastic wines to accompany the meal.
The meal was an absolutely integral part of my celebration and in large part because of Ian's efforts my evening went off brilliantly!
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Ian to anyone wanting a special meal. Thank you so much mate!"
