This was an excellent birthday dinner for six people. Ed was extremely helpful and accommodating both before and during the evening. The food quality was great and appreciated by all the guests and everything was left clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend Ed to anyone looking for high quality freshly cooked fine dining with service to match

I was a bit nervous about hiring a private chef as it wasn't something I had done before. I chose someone who was local to the area & it transpired that I had dined at restaurants where he had worked & I had been happy with the food & service. Meeting James & his wife Natasha made me feel comfortable - James was very knowledgeable about his food & suppliers & we sorted out a menu. The occasion was a surprise birthday lunch for my husband & there were 8 of us. James & assistant arrived when expected to set up & were very professional but friendly & engaging. The event exceeded expectations. The food was beautifully presented & the flavours were delicious. The kitchen was cleared down after service & James left us with a fabulous cheeseboard to finish. I would not hesitate to recommend James and the company and I will be sure to use his services again in the future.

Nothing was too much trouble for the chef. He brought everything with him, created a wonderfully tasty meal and left the kitchen spotless. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending him.

Communication and pre event planning was excellent including wine pairing recommendations. The food was very good, ian allowed us to watch a bit as he cooked too. In particular the tomato soup with crab flakes was 😍😍, and having an assistant meant I as the host could just enjoy the fayre. All in all great, thanks!

We booked a chef for the evening for our Dad's 65th Birthday whilst on holiday in Devon. We were delighted with the food and our chef. William (the chef) was very polite and was happy to answer our questions about the food. We picked the 'choose your own menu' as we had a lot of dietary requirements within our group (GF, Diary free, no lamb & no fish!). The chef had some great ideas for the menu and it tasted amazing (and he was able to cater for all our dietary requirements with no fuss).
I would definitely use La Belle Assiette again for a special occasion.
