Great organisation from the start, although I was mistakenly under the impression that Lukasz himself would be attending until the day before. Clear messaging, prompt arrival and setup. Most importantly the food was AMAZING. I would have the food every weekend if I could. Everybody went back for seconds and additional complimentary food was also provided, including starters and desserts. Would definitely use this provider again. House was left tidy and despite a miscommunication on my side about the total cost, the guys were professional and reliable. 10 out of 10!!

I booked Orchard 27 for their Mexican street food for a 50th house party. The Poptop booking system worked really well and then Orchard 27 picked up the communication brilliantly. They came and set up early (which suited me as it was one less thing to worry about on the evening). They turned up on time, were extremely polite and gave a great, friendly service to my guests. Loads of compliments from guests about the quality of the food and taste. Again, the team served from 8pm to 10pm as agreed and then packed up and left promptly with no fuss and leaving no mess. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for any event. Just wish I'd eaten more when they were here!!

Brilliant. Very quick to respond and help organise from the start. Wonderful service on the day and of course the pizza was excellent, including catering for vegans. The rain didn't even put a damper on the outdoor nature of their catering! Would recommend to use again in the future.

The food was lovely and everyone enjoyed it. It was different to the normal BBQ food that gets provided so we received lots of positive comments.

I booked Chef Artan for my parents and four of their friends as a surprise after a difficult few months of lockdown. I found Chef Artan very easy to communicate with when it came to organizing the event. He was extremely helpful and accommodating and quick to reply to any of my questions. My parents and their friends were delighted with their evening. They said the food was wonderful and there was lots of it so they get to enjoy leftovers too. The star of the show was the steak cooked to order and everyone’s preference was served to perfection. They also said Chef Artan is a wonderful host! This is a great way to do something special during covid times when everyone needs a pick me up. We will definitely book Chef Artan again, we just wish we’d thought to do this sooner!

We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.
Wedding Catering in Liverpool: The No-Nonsense Buyer’s Guide
Liverpool knows how to celebrate. Between the waterfront views, grand hotels, handsome Georgian streets and a famously friendly crowd, weddings here have real personality. If you are searching for wedding catering in Liverpool, you are probably weighing up formats, costs, timings and how to keep everyone happy from the first glass of fizz to the final chorus. We are here to make that simple. This guide explains service styles, venue realities, menus with coastal flair, clear price ranges and practical timelines, so you can make confident choices and enjoy the build-up as much as the big day.
Why Liverpool weddings feel different
The city gives you character in every direction. A waterfront reception can turn a standard drinks hour into a moment, classic hotels bring polish without stiffness, museums add culture, and Georgian houses deliver charm by the armful. Guests tend to be up for a proper party, yet they also appreciate real hospitality, strong flavours and a smooth flow with no long waits. That means menus that are generous, service that moves at pace and a plan that respects both the scenery and the people.
Pick a service style that suits your day
Start with your venue and guest count, then match a format that keeps the mood high and the logistics clean.
Waterfront receptions
Waterfront weddings are about light, views and movement. Keep food easy to handle so guests can wander, chat and take photos without juggling cutlery. Canapés and bowl food are ideal. Choose bites that remain tidy in a sea breeze, for example crisp fish or vegetable options with citrus dressings, neat skewers and elegant tartlets rather than anything likely to drip. Have a light weather plan as a matter of course, covers for trays, a secondary service point indoors and a short route from prep to guests.
Classic hotel breakfasts
Liverpool’s hotel scene is made for a refined wedding breakfast. A two or three course plated meal gives you ceremony, clear pacing and effortless speeches. If you prefer something more sociable, a sharing feast on long tables reads generous and photographs beautifully. Hotels usually have the lift access and kitchens to deliver hot plates precisely, so choose a concise menu and allow the team to focus on consistency across the room.
Canapé and prosecco hour
That first hour sets the tone. Five to seven canapés per person over sixty to ninety minutes works well for most guest lists. Build a little arc: two bright cold bites, one warm comfort option, a seafood hero to nod to the coast and a plant-based choice that stands on its own merits. If you know photos will run long, add a small bowl course halfway through to steady appetites without slowing the schedule.

Curated suppliers
All Poptop’s suppliers are rigorously vetted and approved by our team of party experts, ensuring you book the very best.
Late-night carbs
Liverpool parties often finish on a high. Plan hot, hand-held snacks two to three hours after dinner. Chips in cones, mini pies, slice-and-serve pizza, bao with punchy fillings and a solid vegan option keep people fuelled and happy. Keep it to one or two choices so the queue moves. Time the drop for just before last orders, not at the very end, so no one leaves hungry.
Venues and the back-of-house picture
Great catering relies on practical logistics. Here is what matters across the city’s main venue styles.
Waterfront hotels
Expect good access, lifts and professional kitchens. This is the natural home of classic hotel breakfasts and elegant evening stations. Confirm unloading points, any restrictions around outdoor service and the wind pattern on terraces. If you are planning an outdoor canapé pass, ask for lidded trays and agree the exact service route so hot food does not travel far.
Museums
Museums bring wow factor and a few sensible rules. You will likely have conservation guidelines, floor protection and limits on where food can be served. Canapés, bowls and small plate stations shine here. Choose sauces that are bold rather than messy, agree on discreet station signage and plan for a quick reset between parts of the space. A museum supervisor will usually approve layouts in advance, which keeps everyone aligned.
Georgian houses
Georgian houses are all about flow, usually moving from ceremony room to drawing room to garden. Sharing menus suit these spaces because they keep conversation lively, while a plated set keeps timings tight if rooms are split. If you are using lawns or a marquee, plan firm flooring, quiet generators and soft lighting for paths. A coffee point indoors gives older guests a calm corner when the dancing starts.
Menus with Liverpool character
You can lean into the city’s coastal spirit without turning dinner into a theme. Think freshness, clarity and confident flavour.
Waterfront glam
This look loves clean lines and bright finishes. Seafood canapés are a natural choice when handled neatly. Consider crisp fish bites with lemon, delicate prawn spoons with herbs, or a vegetarian seaweed cracker with pickled veg for a modern touch. For mains, let seasonal produce lead and keep plates composed rather than busy. If you want a moment of theatre, a small carving at table or a citrus-dressed salad service brings movement without creating queues.
Classic hotel elegance
A hotel breakfast is your chance to deliver event-quality plating that still tastes like real food. Choose a balanced two or three courses, use a short printed description for clarity and keep devices like a sorbet course only if they genuinely help pacing. Desserts can feel indulgent while staying practical, for example set creams, tarts that slice cleanly or warm puddings portioned in the kitchen.
Seafood canapés that behave
Seafood can be showstopping, it just needs to be robust in the hand. Avoid anything that risks dripping over suits. Pair seafood with citrus, herbs and crisp textures, serve chilled or hot but not lukewarm, and brief the service team to describe each bite in a single line. Offer a clear plant-based alternative at the same pass so nobody feels like an afterthought.
Keeping everyone included
Most Liverpool guest lists include a range of dietary needs. Decide early on vegetarian or vegan leaders in the menu, and specify any halal requirements in plain terms. A menu reads best when alternatives mirror the main experience, not a completely different plate. Clear labels on stations and well briefed servers make all the difference.
Budget, pricing and what drives cost
You deserve transparent figures from the outset. Typical price points for wedding catering in Liverpool are:
Two or three course plated menus from £50 to £90 per person, driven by produce, staffing and kitchen setup.
Sharing or buffet formats from £24 to £42 per person, often including sides and breads.
Remember to factor in staff hours, travel, equipment hire, crockery and glassware if the venue is dry hire, station furniture, and any outdoor cover or heating. Good quotes list each element so you can see where to flex.
Sensible ways to save
Trim the set. Two courses plus a small sweet with coffee can feel every bit as special as three, especially with a strong main.
Choose a generous sharing centrepiece with seasonal sides. It reads abundant and reduces complex plating.
Match canapés to the real window. If drinks are sixty minutes, five bites are enough.
Use what the venue already has, then only hire what you must.
Where spending is visible
Service ratio. A few more servers keep plates hot, glasses topped and the mood light.
Late-night snacks. Modest spend, major impact on energy and smiles.
Lighting for stations and the cake moment. Photos love it and guests notice.
Dietary needs and allergy management
Real inclusion is practical and calm. Gather specifics with RSVPs, group by requirement and share the list with your caterer and your planner. Provide plant-based and gluten-free options that are as appealing as the main menu. On stations, label discreetly and keep utensils separate. In plated service, mark place cards if needed so the team can land the right dishes without fuss.
Staffing, kit and the quiet details
Large or small, the best weddings run on clear roles and tidy layouts.
Nominate a single lead, either your planner or the head caterer, so decisions and changes go through one person.
Share a measured floor plan with access points and likely tray routes, plus a few photos of the room in daylight.
Agree power in amps, not estimates. Ovens, hot cupboards, station lighting and bar kit need exact figures.
Protect back-of-house with a simple screen. It keeps service smooth and the magic intact.
For outdoor moments on the waterfront, plan storage nearby so food does not travel far.
Sustainability without slowing service
You can reduce waste and keep standards high at the same time.
Use seasonal produce and right-size portions so plates come back clean.
Choose reusable serveware where possible and jugs for table water.
Brief your caterer on recycling and any plan for leftovers. Quietly effective is best.
