Overall a lovely experience. Some of the dishes were not what I expected so that was a bit disappointing but overall a lovely experience and the chef was very professional and friendly. I chose too many dishes so would probably have left out the main course and just done starters canapés and desert.
A recommendation to the chef would be to state exactly what is in each dish on the menu so the client knows what to expect.

I was a bit nervous about hiring a private chef as it wasn't something I had done before. I chose someone who was local to the area & it transpired that I had dined at restaurants where he had worked & I had been happy with the food & service. Meeting James & his wife Natasha made me feel comfortable - James was very knowledgeable about his food & suppliers & we sorted out a menu. The occasion was a surprise birthday lunch for my husband & there were 8 of us. James & assistant arrived when expected to set up & were very professional but friendly & engaging. The event exceeded expectations. The food was beautifully presented & the flavours were delicious. The kitchen was cleared down after service & James left us with a fabulous cheeseboard to finish. I would not hesitate to recommend James and the company and I will be sure to use his services again in the future.

After three separate providers pulled out of my birthday weekend (one through Poptop, two privately) I rang Laurel at Poptop and begged her to help me, with only two weeks to go until my doomed dinner party which was looking like it was going to be Chef-less. Laurel immediately sprung in to action and found me Ed, who had only recently signed up to Poptop.
After we had agreed the menu and confirmed the booking, Ed was in touch regularly (to reassure me he was still there!) but also to confirm the finer details of the evening. When one of my party pulled out at the last minute, Ed was totally flexible to change the courses to accommodate in other ways so I didn't lose money.
On the night, Ed turned up promptly, brought me birthday sparkles and cooked us a delightful four course dinner (and an additional palette cleanser!). He also flexed on timings to allow for a live singer we had booked. He dressed in full chef's attire, did all of the cleaning up after the event and not only this, but he also got involved with our games and conversations and was fabulous company!
Honestly, could not be more happy with Ed, the service he provided, but also how much of an all-round gentleman and nice guy he is. Couldn't recommend him more. THANK YOU ED! Legend.

"Everything went brilliantly-the surprise went perfectly and Lewis was fabulous. Not only a great cook but he chatted to everybody throughout the evening answering all their questions. He looked after everybody really well and the food was outstanding. Thanks again and I will definitely be recommending you to family and friends.

Joe cooked for us and our family on Christmas Day. What a great job he did! Fabulous food and great chat :-) His passion for food and entertaining is very obvious. We will be using him again!

"My evening was an amazing success and this was only enhanced by the amazing food Marmite Fine Dining provided us.
Ian - the Chef was so amazing and helped me put together a menu that worked for all my guests and the service was just brilliant.
They arrived on time and got set up very quickly and once my friends arrived, they were happy to talk to them and explain the food choices we had picked.
Once the meal was under way, Ian and Miles just quietly got on with the job at hand and left us to it.
And once everyone had eaten and all the washing up was done (which I thought was a great service) they chatted with my guests for a bit before leaving up to enjoy the rest of our evening.
I highly recommend Marmite Fine Dining, they were truly amazing and I will certainly be using them again!!!
