Rachel was an absolute professional. Her music was brilliantly played and I have to say made the difference from just back ground music. I really love her playing style and I will be recommending her at any given opportunity. First class 👍🏼

The Surrey Pianist played at our daughters wedding which was held in a country setting. In the months before the ceremony, he took time to find the couples requirements and matched them perfectly. He had to travel a fair distance at the start of a busy Easter weekend and was ready, set up and waiting, not complaining about being tucked into the last spare corner. I imagine he is used to grander venues. The weather was perfect (I can't claim he can arrange that of course). However, this meant that the sunshine, breeze and birdsong streamed into the barn. Jon complemented this perfectly with his beautiful piano playing. He managed to perfection the timing of a modern adaptation of Wagners 'Hear Comes the Bride' (By Jonathon Cain), so that he was at the right point as the bride and her dad walked in. There was not a dry eye in the house. A selection of songs were played for the signing of the register and for a change of tempo, he played the happy couple out with a rendition of 'Bear necessities'. I received many complements from guests. Anyone considering using a CD for their wedding, think again. This is fabulous. Highly recommended. 5 *+

The mood was perfectly set for our silver wedding anniversary garden party by a performer par excellence. Arjays was in fine form and was appreciated by everyone. It was fun when at time of leaving, Arjays pulled out his violin again responding to guest's passing request for a jig, the latter proceeding to dance! Our musician is Mr Friendly and Mr Amenable.

Kevin was BRILLIANT and I wouldn't hesitate to book him again. I highly recommend him. He was very responsive and communicative to deal with from the minute we booked. He was punctual and reliable. He played amazing music, really added to the party atmosphere at our house. He's also a really friendly lovely guy and all the guests loved him. We will definitely be booking him again.

We delivered next level parties for exceptional companies

We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.

Hire a Violinist in London: A Buyer’s Guide

Looking for a Violinist in London who can lift the room in seconds? You’re in the right place. London events love a strings moment, and a good violinist gives you that mix of elegance, atmosphere, and a bit of “wow, didn’t expect that.” In this guide we’ll show you how to choose the right player, what styles work best in the capital, how pricing usually breaks down, and how to book with confidence so everything feels easy from the first click to the last encore.

Why a Violinist Works So Well in London

London events move quickly. Venues can be compact, schedules are tight, and guests expect a polished experience. A violinist fits the city perfectly. They can set a refined tone for ceremonies, bring modern pop energy to a rooftop reception, or deliver a cinematic backdrop for a black-tie dinner. Because they’re mobile and self-contained, setup is simple and transitions are smooth. You get impact without the fuss.

The London Events That Suit Violin Best

If your brief includes any of the below, a violinist is a near-perfect match.

  • Civil and religious ceremonies that need a graceful entrance, aisle music, and a joyful exit
  • Upscale corporate receptions where you want conversation to flow over stylish background music
  • Brand launches that benefit from a contemporary feel and social-ready moments
  • Black-tie dinners needing smart ambience for drinks, dinner, and coffee
  • Luxury proposals where intimacy matters and the music should feel personal, not staged

Venues and Spaces Where Violin Shines

London spaces vary, but a violinist adapts fast.

  • Rooftops and terraces, stylish music with a view, often amplified for clarity
  • Townhouse venues, elegant, low footprint, acoustic sets work beautifully
  • Galleries, contemporary sound that lets art and guests breathe
  • Hotel ballrooms, classic ceremony or upbeat reception sets with pro sound
  • Private members’ spaces, polished performance with discreet setup

If your space has tricky acoustics or strict sound limits, a violin still works, either fully acoustic or with a compact amp at low volume. We’ll help you match the setup to the room.

Popular London-Ready Styles

You can keep it classic or go modern. The best London violinists offer a few clear directions, then customise around your brief.

  • Modern pop strings, chart hits and crowd-pleasers, recognisable from the first phrase

  • Cinematic classics, sweeping melodies, romantic and timeless
  • Ibiza violin with DJ, rhythmic, high-energy, perfect for sunset terraces and late receptions
  • Contemporary classical for chic ambience, minimal, stylish, and very London
  • Most violinists carry large repertoires. Pick a main direction and sprinkle in a few must-haves. The balance keeps everyone happy, from your uncle who loves film scores to your team who want Dua Lipa on strings.

What It Usually Costs in London

Typical rates for a Violinist in London sit around £250 to £600. That range reflects experience, demand, travel across the city, performance length, and whether you need amplification or to pair with a DJ. For a short solo ceremony set you’ll be towards the lower end. For a longer reception with amplified sound and bespoke playlists you’ll sit in the middle. High-profile dates, extended booking windows, or complex logistics may nudge you to the top end.

To make decisions faster, we show instant, all-inclusive pricing. You see the package, the add-ons, and the final figure upfront, so there’s no guesswork.

    Ceremony Music Made Simple

Ceremonies benefit from structure, not noise. A reliable flow looks like this:

    • Guest arrival, 20 to 30 minutes of light ambience as people settle
    • Processional, one clear track, or a medley that lands at the front on cue
    • Signing, two to three gentle pieces to cover the admin without silence
    • Recessional, a joyful track, ideally upbeat and photogenic

We’ll help your violinist time each section. If the aisle is long, they can repeat a refrain or build the track as you approach. If your registrar or officiant prefers silence in parts, no problem, we note that in advance.

    Corporate and Brand Moments

For receptions, you want polish without drowning conversation. A violinist can deliver modern pop instrumentals that feel current, with a tempo that keeps the room lively. For product reveals or key moments, they can hit a cue with a specific track, then return to background mode. If you plan to move guests between spaces, the violinist can lead the flow with a short musical walk-through. It feels clever, and it keeps the event moving on time.

    Black-Tie Dinners With Subtle Drama

Drinks call for something light and sparkling. Dinner suits cinematic themes and modern classical. Coffee can go a touch upbeat to lift energy before speeches or the final thanks. Keep volume low enough for talk, then bring it up a touch for applause moments. If you have a short address, the violinist can provide a soft vamp for walk-on and a neat stinger at the end. It reads as professional and effortless.

Luxury Proposals, Curated to the Minute

Proposals work best when the music feels like part of the plan, not an add-on. Tell us your location, the cue, and the cover you love. The violinist hides in plain sight, then steps forward at the exact moment. After the yes, we switch to your shared favourites for a few minutes of private celebration. If a photographer is present, we’ll coordinate timing so the key beats are covered.

Amplified, Acoustic, or With a DJ

You have three main options, each with a clear use case.

    • Fully acoustic, intimate rooms, townhouse spaces, small ceremonies
    • Amplified solo, rooftops, ballrooms, brand events, larger guest lists
    • Ibiza violin with DJ, high-energy sets that sit on top of club-leaning tracks

For amplified solo, a compact battery amp keeps cables minimal and setup quick. For DJ sets, the violinist typically uses a wireless pickup and roams while the DJ runs the tracks. We’ll confirm power access, input requirements, and a brief soundcheck window with the venue.

How Long Should You Book For

Most bookings fall into one of these patterns.

    • Ceremony only, up to one hour on site
    • Ceremony and drinks, around two hours on site, with a short break
    • Drinks reception, 90 minutes to two hours, often split into sets
    • Dinner ambience, two to three hours, lower volume and elegant pacing
    • DJ feature, two to three short high-impact spots across the night

Set structure is usually 2 x 45 minutes or 3 x 30 minutes. Breaks are short and planned. We’ll build a timeline that fits your catering and speeches.

Choosing the Right Violinist in London

When you’re comparing profiles, look for the markers of a smooth event.

    • Clear repertoire examples that match your theme
    • Audio or video that reflects live performance, not just studio edits
    • Evidence of ceremony timing and corporate cues handled well
    • Reviews that mention punctuality, communication, and adaptability
    • A neat technical plan, simple, fast to set, venue-friendly

If you want a specific vibe, say so early. A few reference tracks do wonders. The more we know about your crowd and space, the better we can tailor the set.

Requests, Custom Songs, and Special Touches

Most violinists can learn one or two special tracks with reasonable notice. If your choice is obscure, share a link to the exact version you love and confirm key or tempo preferences if you have them. For proposals and ceremonies, we’ll test the length so the piece resolves at the right moment. For corporate reveals, we’ll set cues to seconds, then keep a backup track ready in case anything shifts.

    What Affects the Price

Understanding the variables helps you land on the right package first time.

    • Day and date, Saturdays and peak seasons price higher
    • Time on site, arrival, performance, and buffer windows
    • Setup complexity, amplification, DJ coordination, or roaming kits
    • Travel and access, parking plans and load-in routes in central London
    • Repertoire prep, custom arrangements or multiple new requests

We keep quotes transparent, with each factor explained so you can choose what matters and skip what doesn’t.

Planning Tips for a Smooth Day

A little prep removes most common hiccups.

    • Confirm arrival and access, venue contact, load-in route, and parking
    • Agree set locations, ceremony spot, reception corner, dinner placement
    • Align cues, processional start, reveal beats, toasts, and finish time
    • Have a weather plan if you’re outdoors, shade for instruments in summer
    • Provide a chair and small table for cases and accessories, if possible
    • Share a final running order two days before, we’ll circulate it to your suppliers

    Example Repertoires That Land Well

Use this as inspiration, then personalise.

    • Modern pop strings, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles
    • Cinematic and classical, Ludovico Einaudi, Yiruma, Debussy, Vivaldi, Zimmer themes
    • Ibiza violin with DJ, melodic house, classic anthems, vocal hooks with strong beats
    • Chic ambience, minimalist piano and strings, gentle indie covers for gallery-style rooms

Two or three core styles, then a handful of requests is the sweet spot.

    How We Make Booking Easy

We believe planning should feel calm and friendly, not like a to-do list that never ends. Here’s how we support you from start to finish.

    • Enjoy a truly friendly attitude, our suppliers are chosen for warmth and professionalism, they engage with guests and keep the atmosphere relaxed and happy
