Booked for Christmas party
Lukasz was super helpful from the second we booked food for our event. He communicated early so that I knew when I was going to hear from him closer to the event date and he was accommodating with dietary requirements. The food was excellent and there was more than enough to feed our guests. I would highly recommend Lukasz and will be using him again without a doubt. Thank you!

Without hesitation, one of the best buffets I have ever had. Amazing flavours, a real twist on the traditional finger buffet. Our guests LOVED the sausage rolls, in fact we had many compliments from guests over the quality of food.
I cannot recommend highly enough.
I look forward to using Simons Catering again in the future. I just need to find another resson to celebrate!

Booked for Baby shower
The food was really nice and my guest complemented it. There was an item missing from the buffet and could not get in touch with them on the day. Would have been reassuring to have someone contact me in the day and give me an estimated time they would be delivering the food. Also if they could have contacted me to let me know there would be an item missing and why and if I would like to replace it for something else. Other than that I would deffo use again.

Booked for Birthday party
Fantastic. Very very nice. We got to use our own afternoon tea cake stand. IT was very memorable and unique. We loved it. The only thing that could have been better is that the prosecco was delivered room temperature. Pre-chilled and brought in a cool bag would be preferable. But we really enjoyed it and recommend the experience. A perfect, memorable birthday treat.
We delivered next level parties for exceptional companies
We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.
Kosher Catering in London: A Buyer's Guide That Actually Helps
If you’re planning an event in the capital and need Kosher Catering in London, you’re in the right place. We work with kosher specialists across the city every day, so we know what works, what to look out for, and how to keep planning simple. Below, we’ll walk through the styles, budgets, logistics, and key decisions that make the difference between a good event and a great one. By the end, you’ll know exactly how to brief a caterer and book with confidence.
Why London is perfect for kosher events
London’s hospitality scene is incredibly diverse. That gives you real choice across supervision levels, menu styles, and service formats, whether you’re hosting a black-tie wedding, a lively bar or bat mitzvah, a polished corporate launch, a charity gala, or an intimate private dinner. The city also offers a range of venues that are naturally suited to kosher service, from synagogues with familiar layouts to premium hotels with established kosher-friendly workflows, and townhouse spaces that suit more boutique celebrations.
What “kosher” means in practice for your event
Kosher isn’t just about the recipe. It’s a complete system that covers ingredients, sourcing, preparation, equipment, and service. When you speak to caterers on Poptop, you’ll be able to outline the level of observance you require, and they’ll confirm what that means operationally.
Supervision and certification. Ask what type of supervision the caterer provides, and whether a mashgiach will attend. Clarify the certificate you need and how it will be displayed.
Meat, dairy, and pareve. Decide your direction early. If you’re serving meat, your dessert and coffee service should align accordingly. If you’re going dairy, your savoury offering must follow suit.
Equipment separation. Kosher caterers maintain separate kit. At non-kosher venues, they will often bring sealed equipment and disposables or arrange a kashered kitchen setup where permitted.
Supply chain. Reputable suppliers can explain exactly where meat, wine, and packaged goods are sourced. Don’t be shy about asking for specifics.
What you should expect to pay
For Kosher Catering in London, a sensible planning range is £40 to £110 per person for food, depending on the format, supervision, and menu ambition. Where you land inside that range is driven by:
Service style. Plated fine dining sits near the top. Buffet, family-style, or street-food stations can land in the middle. Drop-off pareve grazing sits at the lower end.
Menu theme. Modern Israeli tasting menus with premium fish and seasonal produce cost more than simple shawarma or falafel stations.

Curated suppliers
All Poptop’s suppliers are rigorously vetted and approved by our team of party experts, ensuring you book the very best.
Supervision level. Closer supervision and on-site mashgiach support add to cost and are common at formal events.
Event scale. Bar or bat mitzvahs and weddings often mean higher guest counts and enhanced production. Per-head costs can improve with scale but overall spend increases.
Your instant pricing on Poptop includes the details you need, so you can compare offers fairly and decide quickly.
Event types and how to brief them well
Weddings
For a London wedding, set your tone first. Luxe black-tie Ashkenazi with reimagined classics works beautifully under chandeliers in premium hotels, while modern Israeli fine dining fits galleries and townhouses. Your brief should cover:
Supervision level and certificate requirements.
Three or four courses or a tasting format.
Kiddush and canapé plan for after the chuppah.
Late-night service such as petit fours, bourekas, or a street-food pop-up for the dance floor.
A strong kosher caterer will guide wine service, cake handling, and tea-coffee service to keep everything aligned.
Bar and bat mitzvahs
Energy is the brief. Food should be generous, quick to serve, and teen-friendly without feeling childish. Think Tel-Aviv street-food stations like sabich bowls, shawarma pitas, and fresh salads, paired with a pareve dessert bar. For adults, add a showpiece: a carved salmon display, mezze spread, or a chef’s station for charcoal-grilled skewers. Confirm timing for the ceremony, family photos, speeches, and the DJ’s first set so service flows around the key moments.
Corporate launches
London launches need clean execution, short service windows, and strong presentation. Cold-forward menus are a smart choice in galleries or showrooms with limited heat sources. Consider:
Bite-size canapés with clear kosher labelling.
A vegan kosher mini-tasting option for inclusivity.
Efficient back-of-house plans and minimal footprint stations.
A focused drinks list with suitable wine and softs.
Provide your caterer with the run-of-show, arrival curves, and brand guidelines for tray cards or menu cards.
Charity galas
Volume, speed, and elegance are the priorities. Family-style service can create impact without slowing the room. A popular format is a pareve starter tableau, a plated main with seasonal sides, and petit fours with coffee. If your gala includes a live auction, plan a short hold between main and dessert so the room can focus.
Upscale private dinners
For townhouse venues and private residences, a vegan kosher tasting or modern Israeli fine-dining menu can be a show-stopper. Your briefing checklist:
Chef’s table or pass-style plating area.
Course count and pacing.
Wine pairings with suitable certifications.
Tableware and glassware plan if the venue is dry hire.
Choosing the right venue for kosher service
Synagogues
Synagogues across London are designed to support kosher events. Your caterer will be familiar with typical layouts and flow, which saves time on planning. Ask early about kitchen capacity, storage, and permitted finishing equipment.
Premium hotels with kosher kitchens
Hotels with kosher-friendly policies can host refined, large-scale events with ease. The benefit is infrastructure: service lifts, chilled storage, and professional back-of-house teams. Clarify the venue’s approach to kashering, any approved supplier lists, and whether a mashgiach is needed on site.
Galleries and townhouse spaces
These venues suit creative formats like Tel-Aviv street-food, family-style sharing, and chef-led tastings. They often have light kitchen facilities, so your caterer may bring hot boxes, induction units, and cold storage. Plan for load-in routes, rubbish removal, and noise restrictions.
Marquees and garden builds
Marquees are a blank canvas. Your caterer can set up fully separate prep areas and bring dedicated kosher equipment. You’ll need to consider power, lighting, water, flooring, and weather protection. Agree a back-up plan for rain and wind so service stays slick.
Menu themes that shine in London
Modern Israeli fine-dining. Creative plates built around herbs, spice, citrus, and char. Expect seasonal fish, fire-kissed vegetables, and elegant desserts. Works best as plated multi-course or a chef’s counter in intimate venues.
Luxe black-tie Ashkenazi. Classic dishes reworked for the ballroom. Clear soups with delicate garnish, slow-cooked mains with refined accompaniments, and polished presentation. Perfect for charity galas and formal weddings.
Tel-Aviv street-food. Fast, abundant, colourful. Pitas, salads, grilled skewers, and generous sauces. Great for mitzvahs and corporate launches where standing service and short dwell times are key.
Vegan kosher tasting. A sophisticated route for mixed-diet groups. Focus on depth of flavour, texture contrast, and theatrical plating. Pair with low-intervention softs and approved wines for a thoughtful, contemporary feel.
Service formats that keep guests happy
Plated. High polish, perfect for black-tie dinners.
Family-style. Abundant and social, speeds up service for large rooms.
Buffet. Efficient and flexible for mixed preferences.
Live stations. Theatre and pace, ideal for receptions and mitzvahs.
Drop-off pareve grazing. Cost-effective for networking and gallery previews.
Align your format with the venue, guest count, and schedule. Your caterer will help you balance speed with presentation.
Logistics that matter in the capital
Travel and access. Build in realistic load-in windows for central postcodes and check restrictions for congestion and ultra-low emission zones.
Staffing ratios. For plated dinners, plan generous floor staff and experienced supervisors. For street-food stations, ensure enough chefs per station to avoid queues.
Equipment and hire. Confirm whether your quote includes hot boxes, induction, chafers, tableware, glassware, and linen. If a venue is dry hire, your caterer can usually bundle these items.
Allergen and dietary notes. Keep a single source of truth. Share it with the caterer 1 to 2 weeks before the event and reconfirm on the day.
Shabbat timing. If your event touches Shabbat, plan holding dishes, earlier prep, and appropriate service adjustments.
How to compare kosher quotes on Poptop
Your goal is a fair like-for-like view. Here’s what to check:
Supervision. Type included, on-site presence, and any additional fees.
Menu detail. Starters, mains, sides, dessert, breads, and any canapés.
Service format. Plated, family-style, buffet, stations, or drop-off.
Staffing. Number of chefs and servers, service hours, and overtime policy.
Equipment and hire. What’s included and what the venue supplies.
Setup and breakdown. Access times, load-in plan, and rubbish clearance.
Drinks handling. Who supplies wine and softs, corkage, and glassware.
