What a wonderful experience to have Hollie Chapman play at my daughters wedding at Lulworth Castle, Dorset. It made our Wedding Service & Breakfast such an enjoyable occasion. Such a talent, we were all warmed with her presence and delightful repertoire. Another memory to cherish fondly. We thank you deeply from the bottom of our hearts. 💕

Vitalia was fantastic, all my guests said it was lovely walking in to her playing. Her choice of music was brilliant and her playing skills and sound system were wonderful. Vitalia communication before the event was good with any requests or type of music considered. Overall very professional and would definitely recommend.

Naomi was completely and utterly amazing!
She honestly made our wedding
We had her play a song while walking down the aisle and brought a tear to everyone’s eye.
Then we had the pleasure of her playing during our meal and wow was she fantastic. Everyone loved her and were singing along to her playing.
If you want your wedding to have the wow factor and yet at the same time bring the emotion and class then she is the girl for you.
Best musician I have heard, so very very talented!
If you are thinking about hiring a violinist for your wedding Don’t doubt she is the best there is!

Josie was absolutely amazing! Josie played the violin so beautifully for our wedding ceremony and reception and made the day so special. Her repertoire was incredible - as we are quite a geeky couple, we loved that she covered music from video games, films (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) and tv shows. All the guests loved the music and we received loads of compliments in relation to Josie’s playing - with a few guests asking whether Josie had any CDs! Thank you Josie for being so great - would definitely recommend Josie for your special day and we couldn’t have been more delighted with how everything went.
We delivered next level parties for exceptional companies
We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.
Leeds loves a good party, and a violinist is one of those choices that quietly lifts the whole occasion. Whether it’s a barn wedding just outside the ring road, a slick city-centre reception, a summer garden party, or a student ball, live violin brings colour, warmth, and a touch of theatre. In this guide we’ll walk you through styles that work in Leeds, how to brief your musician, what to expect on the day, and how to book quickly with complete confidence.
Why Violin Works Brilliantly in Leeds
Leeds events often mix modern taste with Yorkshire character. A violinist sits neatly in that space. They’re compact, flexible, and able to switch from folk-pop to chart instrumentals without fuss. In a rooftop lounge they bring sophistication without drowning conversations. In a country-house barn they give you those sweeping Bridgerton-style moments guests love. In a private garden they can move easily between groups, playing requests and adding that personable touch.
We see violinists booked for aisle walks, drinks receptions, anniversary toasts, proposals, milestone birthdays, and gala arrivals. The instrument’s range means we can build a set that matches your theme, your guests, and your venue’s acoustics.
Styles That Fit the Leeds Brief
Leeds audiences are eclectic, so we plan for variety. A good set in the city flows across eras and textures, always keeping an ear on the room.
Folk-pop fusion, great for barns and rustic styling, think rhythmic accompaniments and foot-tapping melodies that still feel elegant.
Chart favourites arranged for solo violin, perfect for student balls and city hotels where you want familiarity without a full band.
Bridgerton-style quartet vibes adapted for solo, lyrical lines, light ornamentation, and romantic pacing to suit ceremonies and first dances.
Indie and Britpop instrumentals for a subtle nod to local tastes.
Classics and light film themes, ideal scene-setters for canapés and champagne.
If you’re unsure how to balance it, we build a 60 to 120 minute arc that opens with recognisable tunes, sprinkles in a few surprises, then closes on high-energy crowd pleasers.
What a Leeds Violinist Costs
For solo violin in Leeds, typical pricing runs between £200 and £460. Where your quote sits in that range depends on the length of performance, travel and load-in specifics, whether amplification is required, and how much custom music you’d like arranged. Ceremony only is usually at the lower end, ceremony plus drinks reception lands mid range, and an extended evening with amplified pop arrangements reaches the higher end. We’ll show you instant, all-inclusive prices so you can book fast, with no guesswork or waiting around.

Curated suppliers
All Poptop’s suppliers are rigorously vetted and approved by our team of party experts, ensuring you book the very best.
For rustic spaces we lean into folk-pop fusion and cinematic love themes. The ceremony often includes a gentle processional, a brighter signing piece, and a stately recessional. Drinks on the lawn or in the courtyard work beautifully with upbeat acoustic covers. If your barn is lively later, we can add backing tracks for evening instrumentals that hold their own between speeches and the DJ.
Planning notes:
Ask the venue about power near the ceremony spot, it helps if you want discreet amplification.
Barns can be lively, so we choose arrangements with clear melody and steady rhythm.
Consider two or three special requests, one for aisle, one for signing, one for exit.
Student Balls and Formal Dinners
For academic venues and student unions, we keep energy high and transitions quick. Expect chart instrumentals, viral favourites, and a few nostalgic anthems. Many violinists in Leeds use wireless systems, which makes it simple to roam during reception time and interact with guests.
Planning notes:
Set lengths of 2 x 45 minutes usually suit arrivals and dessert.
Provide a short do-not-play list if there are songs you’d rather avoid.
Roaming sets work best during reception, static sets suit dinner service.
City-Centre Receptions
Hotel lobbies, penthouse spaces, and glass-walled lounges benefit from a smooth, modern set. Here we curate slick pop instrumentals, mellow RnB lines, and stylish jazz touches, without pushing the volume. Amplified solo violin fills the space gently and feels refined, which is exactly what you want when guests are chatting and networking.
Planning notes:
Keep performance positions away from open doors to avoid drafts that detune the instrument.
If speeches are planned, we’ll create a clear break and manage volume so transitions feel seamless.
A single 90 minute set can work well, or split it into two if you expect staggered arrivals.
Summer Garden Parties
In private gardens, portability is key. We often recommend an acoustic or lightly amplified set. Requests go down a treat, and the close-up nature of garden parties lets the violinist tailor each few songs to the little pockets of guests, making the afternoon feel curated.
Planning notes:
Provide shade if possible, both for comfort and instrument care.
Share your rough schedule, even if it’s relaxed, so we can plan natural musical peaks.
Let us know about any surprise moments, we’ll time the perfect cue.
Venues and Spaces Across Leeds
Every room in Leeds has a personality, so we fit the sound to the space.
City hotels, clean acoustics, even sound, guests spread across soft furnishings, we use polished pop instrumentals and light classics with discreet amplification.
Rooftop lounges, wind and background noise can rise, so a compact speaker helps the violin sing without strain, modern sets work best.
Barns outside the ring road, warm timber, higher ambient noise when full, we suggest rhythmic folk-pop and clear melodies with supportive amplification.
Private gardens, soft ambience, birdsong, laughter, we keep it intimate with playful requests and a relaxed pace.
If you’re unsure whether to amplify, we look at guest numbers, layout, and background noise, then recommend a setup that feels natural and comfortable.
Building Your Set List
We’ll shape the running order so it feels effortless. A tried and tested flow:
Open with instantly recognisable pop instrumentals to settle the room.
Introduce a handful of folk or classical pieces for texture.
Bring back crowd favourites during photo breaks or transitions.
Save two or three showpieces for key moments, aisle walk, first dance, or awards.
Close on upbeat tunes that leave the room smiling.
You can personalise as much as you like. If you want a specific arrangement that’s not already in the repertoire, tell us early. Simple adaptations are included for many suppliers, more complex custom arrangements may add a small fee, and we’ll flag that upfront.
Logistics Made Simple
A smooth set depends on a few small details. Share the basics, and we’ll handle the rest.
Access, parking or loading instructions, lifts or stairs.
Space, a dry, level footprint about the size of a small table and two chairs is usually enough.
Power, one standard socket if amplification is needed.
Weather plan, a covered option for outdoor events protects both the instrument and your schedule.
We arrive early, soundcheck quietly, and coordinate with your planner, venue, or toastmaster so the music always supports the moment rather than interrupting it.
