Absolutely loved it. It was delivered within the time frame given. I went for the Savoury Afternoon Tea as I knew my partner would appreciate it. He loves a pork pie and Scotch egg!
The pork pie was excellent!
The scones were really fresh and tasty. Who doesn't love clotted cream and jam!
As for the variety of cakes, they were massive! They were delicious! I am so pleased I choose Chouxlicious.com. You won't be disappointed 😊😊

An AMAZING Afternoon Tea. I have had quite a few afternoon teas in some very nice establishments, Milano exceed even the best I have had. The food was very well presented and delivered in boxes on trays, already to be served. Delivery was very prompt and with very friendly service.
All the food tasted exceptional, freshly prepared sandwiches with plenty of filling, delicious. The cakes were all homemade and you could tell, they were wonderful. I have to say everyone said the Pavlova was the best they had ever had, prepared to perfection.
I have been recommending Milano Catering to all my friends and family since we had it. You will not be disappointed, the whole experience was excellent!

I would give them more than 5 if I could. They were absolutely fantastic, absolutely went above and beyond to make everything from big to small wonderfully perfect for us. They thought of everything and really took the pressure off. Such great guys too who we had a great time with. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely use again!
We delivered next level parties for exceptional companies
We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.
Afternoon Tea Catering in Leeds: A Clear-Cut Buyer’s Guide
Afternoon Tea and Leeds get along famously. It is sociable, easy on the budget, and tidy to set up in both grand rooms and compact flats. Whether you are feeding a hundred freshers after a society fair or treating the family to a gentle birthday spread, the format just works. We have organised more teas than we can count across West Yorkshire, so this guide gathers what actually lands well in Leeds venues, how to set a sensible budget, and the small decisions that make a big difference on the day.
Why Afternoon Tea Suits Leeds Life
Leeds likes plans that are warm, unfussy, and good value. Afternoon Tea ticks all three. It slides neatly into short hire slots, it can be served without a full kitchen, and it clears away fast. It looks at home in Victorian function rooms, it feels luxurious in nearby country-house hotels, and it is practical in city apartments and village halls. The format is also flexible enough to cover student groups, families with kids, and corporate teams that want something smarter than a sandwich platter. You get theatre from tiered stands, the comfort of familiar flavours, and a price that will not make the treasurer nervous.
Events Where Tea Shines in Leeds
There are moments where tea is not just suitable but ideal. In Leeds, these four pop up again and again.
Uni society events: Daytime gatherings after sign-ups or small celebrations for committee handovers. A standing buffet keeps the energy high and the costs under control.
Birthdays: A relaxed afternoon with a toast and a few photos, without the stress of a late finish or a heavy meal.
Baby showers: Soft colours, gentle flavours, and an inclusive spread that grandparents, best mates, and toddlers will all enjoy.
Corporate meetings: A polished break between sessions that does not induce a food slump. People chat, nibble, and get back to business on time.
Choosing the Right Leeds Venue or Space
The best outcomes come from matching your service style to the room. These are our go-to options and the notes that keep them simple.
Victorian function rooms: High ceilings, beautiful mouldings, and a sense of occasion. Confirm delivery routes and lift sizes early. Tiered stands look fantastic against original wood or tiled fireplaces.
Country-house hotels nearby: Ideal for birthdays and baby showers. Timings are often precise, so choose a supplier who runs like clockwork. Check crockery rules and agree where warm scones will be served.
City apartments: Great for smaller groups and pre-theatre teas. Lifts can be snug, so pick a menu that arrives ready to plate and confirm parking for drop-off.

Curated suppliers
All Poptop’s suppliers are rigorously vetted and approved by our team of party experts, ensuring you book the very best.
Village halls: Friendly, flexible, and easy on the wallet. A drop-off and dress format works well. Ask about trestle tables, access times, and how the hall prefers you to handle waste.
Themes That Feel at Home in West Yorkshire
A simple theme pulls your plan together, helps with decisions, and makes the photos sing. These four play beautifully with local spaces.
Yorkshire garden party: Soft linens, seasonal flowers, pressed-leaf place cards, and a menu that feels fresh. Think cucumber with chive cream, free-range egg and cress, warm scones, and fruit tartlets.
Heritage with vintage china: Lace runners, dainty cups, and classic patisserie. Perfect for Victorian rooms and country-house settings. Keep flavours traditional and portions petite.
Modern minimalist: Clean lines, monochrome accents, and a focus on three perfect bakes rather than ten different options. This is lovely for corporate meetings or city apartments.
Afternoon “tea-n-treats”: A playful hybrid that swaps a few sandwiches for savoury bites and adds a spotlight dessert. Great for uni societies that want a bit of theatre without fuss.
A Leeds-Ready Menu That Travels Well
We favour menus that hold up during transport, are easy to eat while chatting, and make the table look abundant without being fussy.
Sandwiches and savouries: Cucumber and chive cream, lightly smoked salmon with lemon butter, free-range egg and cress, roasted pepper and hummus, and chicken salad brioche fingers. For vegetarian-led spreads, add cheese with chutney and a herby cream cheese with crisp cucumber.
Scones: Still the headline act. Serve warm if possible, with clotted cream and strawberry or raspberry jam. Plant-based scones with coconut cream are crowd-pleasing and keep things inclusive.
Sweet bakes: Mini Victoria sponges, lemon drizzle squares, chocolate brownie bites, fruit tartlets, and macarons. Petite portions let guests try everything without needing a seat and a knife.
Children’s plates: Jam or cheese fingers, fairy cakes, and a fruit skewer. Parents relax, everyone eats.
Tea, Softs, and a Discreet Sparkle
The brew you pour sets the pace of the room. Offer a dependable core then layer on extras that suit your crowd.
Core teas: A robust black tea, a fragrant Earl Grey, and a gentle green tea.
Infusions: Peppermint, chamomile, and a berry blend for caffeine-free guests.
Cold options: Lemon or peach iced tea for warmer days or packed meeting rooms. Sparkling pressé and fruit spritz keep things celebratory without alcohol.
Optional toast: For birthdays or committee wins, add a small welcome glass where the venue allows. Keep the drinks table separate from the tea station so service stays tidy.
Service Formats That Actually Work
Different rooms ask for different approaches. Pick the one that fits your access, timeline, and budget.
Fully staffed service: The team sets, pours, refills, and clears down while you host. Best for country-house hotels and corporate suites where timings are tight and you want a seamless flow.
Drop-off and dress: Delivery, styling with tiered stands and small florals, then collection later. Ideal for village halls and Victorian rooms where you have a couple of helpers on site.
Delivery only: Everything arrives boxed with simple instructions. Assign one friend to scones and one to urns or kettles. The most budget-friendly option for smaller groups and student events.
What to Budget in Leeds
Expect Afternoon Tea catering to land between £18 and £28 per guest across Leeds and nearby towns. That range reflects menu depth, service style, and whether you add china hire or extra decor.
Around £18 per guest: Delivery only with classic sandwiches, scones, and a couple of bakes. Simple crockery, no staff.
Middle of the range: Drop-off with styling, tiered stands, menu cards, and a broader patisserie selection.
Around £28 per guest: Staffed service, vintage china, linen napkins, more choice across savoury and sweet, and iced tea or softs on the side.
If you need to keep costs neat, trim variety not quality. Keep sandwiches crisp and well filled, keep scones excellent, and reduce the number of cake types. Guests remember freshness more than the exact count of bakes.
Leeds-Specific Practicalities
A few local details make a real difference.
Student schedules: Society events often sit between lectures or after sign-ups. Keep service to ninety minutes and plan a clean end so everyone makes their next commitment.
Apartment access: City lifts can be compact. Choose a menu that is easy to plate and confirm a short-stay parking plan for drop-off.
Village hall rules: Many halls have clear recycling policies and precise end times. Agree waste handling in advance and keep your bond safe.
Power and water: Place urns near sockets and away from guest flow. Check if extension leads are allowed and who provides them.
Weather plan: If you spill into a garden at a village hall or country venue, book a small gazebo and protect electrics. Keep paper decor to a minimum outdoors.
Inclusive Menus from the Start
Design inclusion in early. It looks better, tastes better, and runs with fewer surprises.
Vegetarian and vegan options: Treat these as complete tiers, not afterthoughts. Roasted vegetable focaccia fingers, avocado and tomato relish, dairy-free patisserie, and plant-based scones look and taste the part.
Gluten-free needs: Separate trays, labelled clearly, with naturally gluten-free bakes like meringues and flourless squares. Provide suitable bread for sandwiches where required.
Halal-friendly choices: Build generous vegetarian and fish selections as a base, and use halal poultry where requested. Keep presentation consistent across all tiers.
Allergens: Share details early, agree labelling, and keep dedicated utensils for special trays.
Styling Ideas That Photograph Beautifully
You do not need a prop warehouse. A few smart choices will lift any room.
Pick a palette that suits your theme and stick to it: Heritage tones love Victorian rooms, green and white sings in “garden party,” monochrome calms a minimalist look.
Use mixed heights so the buffet has rhythm: Tiered stands do most of the work, with one or two cake pedestals and low florals.
Label with care: Neat cards for dietary needs save repeated questions and help guests relax.
Add two theatre moments: Warm scones arriving, then a late reveal of fruit tartlets or a spotlight dessert. It keeps the energy cheerful.
Season by Season in West Yorkshire
Spring leans into soft colours, berries, and lighter teas. Summer loves iced options and fresh fruit pots for village hall lawns and city balconies. Autumn is cosy with spiced carrot cake, apple tartlets, and amber linens. Winter feels luxurious with candlelight, darker teas, and rich chocolate bites. Keep menus seasonal. They travel better and taste fresher.
