Recent review: Just wanted to thank the Black Velvet Band for a really great evening last Saturday. They were excellent musicians and the caller was superb (very patient with the Danish contingent who took some time to get the hang of the instructions!) What I particularly appreciate is how considerate and adaptab

Recent review: This group is a group of impostors. There is a group out of Canada called Scatter the Mud who have two recordings out on the RCA label (including one with "As I Roved Out"). They should really attempt to use a name more original, like "Small Faces", or "Rolling Stones".

We are getting married in a Barn just outside of Cheltenham. Looking for a festival style party bands or vintage folk. Can you help? Thanks so much
We are currently on the hunt for a ceilidh band for our wedding on 10th Feb 2018, at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham. There will be roughly 100 people in a medium sized room and we would probably be looking for a Scottish ceilidh of around 2 hours with a caller. My partner and I have been to a few in the past and can’t think of any better way to get people up, and moving about - so any extra information that you can give us would be great. There are a few questions that we have (admittedly some of them may seem bit obvious from the information on the website, but please bear with me!): 1) - Does that date work for you? 2) - Are you able to provide set that is predominantly classic Scottish dance, along with a caller? 3) - What line up/price options do you have? 4) - Would you supply your own PA (if so, is it PAT tested), or would we need to source one?
Festival themed wedding party @ Jenners Bar, Whelford
It would be for a couple of hours during the reception before dinner while everyone is standing outside with drinks. I like the ragtime, 3 person, banjo, quietly in background. Saw one at a wedding in Wiltshire but didn't get the name.

We are a 30 yr old couple getting married at a private house on a cider farm in Gloucestershire in a lovely marquee on Saturday April 30th. Looking for a set of indie rock and some pop, relaxed first half, upbeat second half. Thinking of wedding dance song like Beach Boys 'god only knows.' Closest train station is Lydney. Easy detour from. Do you have an available set list? Best wishes
I work for Lloyds banking group and my self and a group of colleagues are holding a family fun day to raise money for BBC Children in need. The event is being held on Sunday 7th August 12-4.30 pm at The Moretons in Bredon, Tewkesbury. It is an outdoors location. I was wondering if you would be available for a couple of hours to come along and do some magic. However as it is a charity event we are looking to do this for as little cost as possible. Any support or help you would be able to offer us would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there, My partner and I are getting married on the 16th September 2017 in Bruton, Somerset. We would love to have an Irish band at our wedding reception, mainly to keep it lively and get people dancing - but also because I grew up listening to it. Are you available that weekend and if so could you please let me know the various hire options, costs and how long the sets are? We're very laid back so I'd like your guidance on set lists etc, but I am keen for some songs that everyone will know (Irish Rover, Tell me ma, maybe some Pogues etc). Is this something you could do? It would just be for the evening reception, possibly from 6 or 7pm. Thank you, Roisin
Wedding at Manobier castle near Tenby. Hopefully outside on grass but will also have a marque. Require a Ceilidh band to play and call for around 1.5 hours, possibly with instrumental interludes between dances
Indoor naming ceremony. Small family event. Looking for background music, 2 musicians will be fine. 12 - 3 (ceremony at 12.30)
Jazz & picnic afternoon at our hotel, we would hope to have this outside weather permitting. We would have people arriving around 2pm and would like music to start at 3pm and go on until around 6pm
Hi, I work at EF Bristol Language School and I am looking to hire a band/solo artist one day during the summer. I am looking for something fun and lively, but also something that doesn't take up too much space. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Louise
I am sharing a 21st Birthday with a friend and have hired an indoor venue in Stourbridge and were both keen on getting a band who could play popular songs with a bit of funk.
Geoff and his Bavarian style Oompah band really made the atmosphere at our Bierkeller event. With such a talented band and plenty of audience participation, the night was a real success. Thanks for the great night!
Just wanted to thank the Black Velvet Band for a really great evening last Saturday. They were excellent musicians and the caller was superb (very patient with the Danish contingent who took some time to get the hang of the instructions!) What I particularly appreciate is how considerate and adaptable the band was regarding my wishes. I had lovely time and have had a lot of positive comments from my guests.
