Good option for a mix of adults and children. Everyone enjoyed the freshly prepared food with good vegetarian and vegan option. Efficient service, feeding about 90 in an hour and a half.

I booked Matei and team for a garden party for my son’s wedding. They arrived promptly and got set up and served 50 people with no hassle. We were very happy with the food and our guests loved it! Great value for money too! My only suggestion would be that a little improvement to communication would enhance the overall experience.

Just brilliant! This is a family-run business and their service and food were excellent. Maha was communicative in advance and the whole thing went without a hitch, even though I changed numbers of guests late on. We had some really happy guests, even the foodie ones, and couldn’t be happier with Tripoli Express.
My personal highlight was Maha asking my guests to check the bride had eaten, because she hadn’t seen her collect her falafel.
Thank you so much!

Fantastic food, my guests were extremely complimentary about every aspect, the vegans and veggies felt well catered for, plus the coeliac. The chicken was delicious and amazing chips! The only downside was the queueing time, guests waited around 20-30mins to be served, a third member of staff would have been useful.

The food and service was excellent and all my guests (various ages and nationalities), absolutely loved it. Maha was lovely and very respectful. Couldn't recommend Tripoli Express more highly. Thank you very much!

If you’re hunting for falafel vans in Birmingham, you’re in the right place. Falafel works brilliantly for Brum’s mix of industrial studios, canalside courtyards, business parks and village halls. It’s fast, fragrant and wildly crowd-pleasing. In this guide we’ll show you how to book the right falafel van for your event, what it should cost in Birmingham, and the small planning choices that make service smooth and memorable.
Why falafel works so well in Birmingham
Birmingham loves street food with character. A falafel van brings warm spice, incredible aromas, and a friendly service style that suits everything from community fairs to corporate away days. It’s also flexible. You can run a build-your-own wrap line, set up a Middle-Eastern picnic table, or serve neat little tasting boxes for standing receptions. Vegetarian by default, easily vegan, and simple to make gluten-free, it keeps mixed groups happy without fuss.
We’ve seen these vans settle in perfectly among canalside brickwork, roll up neatly to a studio roller shutter, and bring serious flavour to a registry-office wedding exit. In short, they slot into Birmingham’s spaces with zero drama and lots of personality.
Typical Birmingham pricing
For Birmingham bookings you should expect a clear, all-inclusive price per person. A sensible local guide is £9–£13 per guest, depending on guest count, menu breadth, and service speed. As a rule of thumb, the higher end of that range gets you multiple fillings, a hot-cold garnish bar, and premium sides like halloumi bites or za’atar fries. Smaller menus or off-peak dates often sit closer to the lower end.
We provide instant pricing, so you can check your date, numbers and postcode and see real figures right away. No chasing quotes. No guesswork.

Venues and spaces around the city
Industrial studios: Vans park close to the shutter; service flows inside or just outside.
Business parks: Ideal for lunch hours, away-day breaks or twilight socials.
Village halls: Family-friendly, easy to configure, and budget-efficient.
Canalside courtyards: The setting does half the work for you. Picturesque, compact, atmospheric.
Menu styles that land well in Birmingham
Middle-Eastern picnic
Lay out shared mezze boards next to the van: hummus, muhammara, baba ghanoush, pickles, tabbouleh, flatbreads, olives and stuffed vine leaves. Guests grab a wrap or pitta from the van, then top up from the boards. It feels generous and relaxed.
Build-your-own wrap line
A service favourite for corporate groups. Guests choose base (pitta, wrap, salad box), falafel count, salads, pickles, and sauce heat. It’s fast, personalised, and keeps queues engaged.
Spice-mild to hot menu
Offer clear heat steps:
Mild: tahini, herby slaw, lemon.
Medium: garlic yoghurt or smoky harissa.
Hot: shatta or chilli-garlic oil with extra pickles.
This keeps everyone comfortable while letting spice fans go bold.
What to include in a Birmingham falafel menu
Fresh-fried falafel, crispy outside and soft inside.
Salad stacks: shredded cabbage, chopped tomato, cucumber, parsley, red onion.
Sauces: tahini, garlic yoghurt, herby green sauce, harissa, shatta.
Kids’ option: mini wrap with mild sauce and simple salad.
Most suppliers can add a few canapés for arrivals or late-night cones if your party runs long.
Dietary and allergen confidence
One of the reasons we love falafel vans is how cleanly they handle dietary needs:
Vegetarian and vegan by default.
Gluten-free bowls or pitta on request.
Clear nut and sesame signposting, with separate utensils for allergens where needed.
Dairy-free swaps for garlic yoghurt if you want to keep the flavour but remove dairy.
Ask us to flag these needs at booking and we’ll make sure your supplier has them locked in.
Service timing and guest flow
For Birmingham events we recommend:
Set-up: 60–90 minutes before first service, depending on access.
Serve window: 90–150 minutes for most groups of 80–150 guests.
Second burst: If you’re running speeches or awards, consider a short pause and a second service wave for latecomers.
We’ll help you link service times to your schedule, so guests don’t queue during vows, toasts or key moments.
Power, access and weather
Falafel vans are simple creatures, but a little prep avoids hiccups.
Power: Many vans are self-sufficient. If they need a hookup, 13A or 16A supplies are typically fine. We’ll confirm at booking.
Access: Measure low bridges, tight turns and courtyard gates. If a full van can’t enter, many teams can roll in with gazebos and equipment instead.
Ground: Level hardstanding is ideal. On grass, ask for ground protection boards.
Rain plan: Gazebos with sidewalls protect service; indoor seating soaks up wet weather comfortably.
Wind: Canalside breezes are real. Weighted kit and wind-friendly signage keep things tidy.
What affects the price in Birmingham
Headcount: Larger groups bring the per-person rate down.
Menu breadth: Extra sides, halloumi, or premium mezze raise costs a little.
Service length: Extended windows or split services add staffing time.
Date and time: Summer Saturdays cost more than midweek lunches.
Travel and access: Out-of-hours set-ups, city-centre restrictions or complex access can add small surcharges.
With instant, all-inclusive pricing, you’ll see these factors reflected clearly before you book.
