Booked for Wedding
We can't express how brilliant the evening food you did for our wedding was. Our venue really struggled with the wedding breakfast and lots of guests didn't have a full meal due to various issues, they were also not available to help you set up, but you got on with it and provided outstanding food. You pulled it out of the bag and provided evening food for our guests that far exceeded our expectations and made everyone forget about how bad the wedding breakfast was!
Thank you

Booked for Wedding
I ordered this package for a wedding reception for my son who wanted a ‘Caribbean feast’. It truly was a feast, the curry goat was tender and very tasty, the jerk chicken was moist and had just the right amount of spice. Almost every guest commented on the deliciousness of the food, several had a second serving. There was more than enough food and Dawn was able to offer a vegetarian option as well as a dish for a guest with a nut allergy. She kept me fully informed of timings and delivery was easily done. I cannot recommend this company more highly.

Couldn’t have asked for more. Dawn was in regular contact from the time I placed the order until it was delivered. She made a few changes to personalise our order and there was more than enough food. On top of all of that….the food was amazing.

Caribbean Catering in Birmingham: A Smart Buyer’s Guide
If you’re planning a party in Brum and want food with sunshine baked in, Caribbean catering is a brilliant shout. It’s flavour-packed, crowd-pleasing, surprisingly flexible for different venues, and it suits everything from small family birthdays to big wedding receptions. In this guide we’ll walk you through what to book, how to price it, and the practical bits that make a Midlands jerk cookout run like clockwork. We’ll also show how we help you book with confidence on Poptop, so you can spend less time chasing quotes and more time choosing plantain over fries. Spoiler: choose both.
Why Caribbean works so well in Birmingham
Birmingham loves a good gathering, and Caribbean food fits the city’s personality: warm, sociable and not shy on flavour. The cuisine travels well, can be served indoors or out, and adapts to dietary needs without losing its soul. Think steel-pan and spice, set against canalside brickwork or a marquee lawn. Whether you’re feeding 30 after a christening or 200 at a staff party, there’s a Caribbean format that slots neatly into your plan and your venue.
What you can actually book
To keep choices clear, here are the core service styles our Birmingham clients book most often. You’ll see these titles across Poptop, and they’re easy to compare on price and inclusions.
Caribbean buffet: A multi-dish spread with classics like jerk chicken, curry goat, rice and peas, fried plantain, coleslaw and salad. Simple service, quick to set up, and great for mixed groups who want to pick and choose.
Jerk grill station: Live grilling with that unmistakable smoky aroma. Expect jerk chicken quarters or wings, halloumi skewers, corn on the cob, and sauces ranging from mild to “careful now”. Ideal outdoors or near a roller door for ventilation.
Street-food stall: Portable set-ups serving boxes or wraps: jerk chicken bowls, peppered prawns, macaroni pie portions, or loaded plantain. Fast, fun, and perfect for staff parties with staggered arrival times.
Ital vegan buffet: A plant-forward menu influenced by Rastafarian cooking: coconut rundown veg, pumpkin curry, callaloo, rice and peas, mango slaw. Naturally dairy-free and big on flavour.
Wedding reception dining: A blended format: canapés with Caribbean twists (saltfish fritters, mini patties), a smart buffet or family-style platters for mains, and a small plated dessert or sweet table. Reliable timing for speeches and first dance.
Late-night snack drop: Batches of patties, festival dumplings and chicken tenders delivered at 10 or 11pm. Keeps the dancefloor happy without reopening a full service.

Our aim is to include those who have special dietary requirements and feel that they are included in having a range of good food choices at events. We have developed a menu that can cater to our vegan and coeliac customers, knowing that they can enjoy some good healthy food and not have to second guess if the food is safe for them or not.
About supplier
As festival traders, we understand that there can be minimal good food choices for vegans and those who need a gluten-free diet because we have been in that situation many times ourselves. We aim to help with this issue and make sure that everyone is able to eat at events however that may be.

If you want music with your meal, a steel-pan duo is a popular add-on that doesn’t fight conversation. It pairs beautifully with a canalside drinks reception.
Typical menus, done right
Caribbean menus are built around balance: heat and sweetness, savoury depth and fresh finishes. Here’s how a well-rounded selection shapes up in Birmingham.
Starters and small bites: Saltfish fritters with lime aioli, mini beef or veg patties, jerk halloumi skewers, plantain chips with pineapple salsa.
Mains: Jerk chicken (on or off the bone), curry goat or mutton, brown-stew chicken, escovitch fish fillets, peppered prawns, Ital coconut and callaloo stew, pumpkin and chickpea curry.
Sides: Rice and peas, buttery corn, macaroni pie, fried plantain, mango slaw, green salad with citrus dressing, festivals or dumplings.
Sauces: Classic jerk, mild jerk mayo, tamarind glaze, scotch bonnet relish for the brave.
Desserts: Rum cake, coconut tart, tropical fruit platter, mango cheesecake pots.
Softs and extras: Homemade ginger beer, sorrel drink, and plenty of ice water. If your venue permits alcohol, plan a simple rum-based punch or keep it dry and refreshing with citrus coolers.
Everything can dial up or down in heat. No one should be caught out by scotch bonnet without warning.
What it costs in Birmingham
Budget is straightforward, which is part of the appeal. For most Birmingham events:
Per-person guide: £13–£25. Lighter street-food boxes sit nearer £13–£16. Bigger buffets with premium proteins land around £18–£22. Wedding-style service or multiple mains can reach £23–£25.
Minimum spend: £650–£1,300. Expect the lower end for a local street-food stall serving 40–50 guests, and the higher end for larger groups, extra staffing, or longer travel.
Your exact price will move with guest count, menu breadth, staff on site, and miles to your postcode. We show instant, all-inclusive pricing on Poptop so you can compare like-for-like without hunting for hidden fees.
Portion planning and headcounts
Caterers price sensibly when they have the truth. Pads of “maybe” guests make wastage and costs spike. Aim for this:
Order for 90–95% of your invite list unless attendance is compulsory.
Include a children’s count if under-10s are eating smaller portions.
If you’ve got a long service window (say, 2–3 hours for a staff party), a street-food format helps manage flow and reduce queues.
For mixed dietary needs, swap one meat main for a strong vegan or fish option. It keeps flavour variety high and food waste low.
Matching the service to your Birmingham venue
Birmingham venues vary from community halls to canalside spaces and hotel suites. Each calls for a slightly different plan.
Community halls
Go for a Caribbean buffet or Ital vegan buffet with hot-hold units.
Check access for trollies and confirm where caterers can plug in warmers.
Ask about serving tables and a room turn-around plan if the hall does double duty for dancing.
Canalside spaces
Jerk grill stations shine outdoors with good airflow.
Confirm with the venue about open flames, smoke control and where the grill can sit.
Have a wet-weather fallback: a pop-up gazebo or switch to a hot buffet indoors if needed.
Hotel suites
Hotels often prefer contained set-ups. A dressed buffet or family-style platters keep it elegant.
Use timed service aligned to speeches. Build a buffer of 10–15 minutes around the formalities so hot food hits the table at its best.
Marquee lawns
Street-food stalls or jerk grill stations feel right at home.
Allow space for service, queueing and a safe cooking zone away from guy ropes.
Power can be a pinch point. Clarify sockets or arrange a small generator for lighting and hot-hold.
Event-by-event advice
Family celebrations
Keep it relaxed and generous. A Caribbean buffet with two mains, three sides and a simple dessert covers all bases. Add a late-night drop of patties if the party tends to run on.
Church and community events
You’ll often feed varied ages and tastes. Build a balanced menu with at least one non-meat main and dial the heat to medium. Serving windows should be clear and quick to keep queues moving.
Staff parties
Street-food stalls give momentum and feel fun. Consider drink tokens and a steel-pan duo early in the evening, then a switch to a DJ playlist later. Vegetarian and halal options should be as visible as the jerk grill.
Wedding receptions
Start with small bites during photos, then move to a dressed buffet or family-style platters for a sociable feel. Keep dessert light and quick so you can get to speeches without a long lull. A steel-pan interlude works beautifully at a canalside reception.
Dietary needs and allergens
Caribbean caterers in Birmingham are used to mixed requirements. Good practice looks like this:
A labelled allergen board and dish cards.
Clear vegan, vegetarian and halal signage.
Separate utensils for meat and non-meat dishes.
Spice guidance on each hot dish, with milder alternatives available.
If anyone has severe allergies, share that at booking and again a week before the event. The team will plan prep areas and serving sequences accordingly.

Find what you need effortlessly: Pop in your date, guest count and Birmingham postcode and you’ll see matched services instantly. Filter by menu style, dietary options and serving format.
Discover everything in one convenient place: Need a steel-pan duo, a DJ or a photobooth on top of the food? You can add them in the same marketplace and keep everything in one plan.
Host a party that will be remembered: Caribbean catering already stands out. Layer in the right music and service style and your night becomes the one everyone talks about at work on Monday.
Book with confidence and complete security: Suppliers are vetted. If anything wobbles, we’ll help you find a suitable alternative. With our money-back guarantee, your booking is protected.
Easy wins to elevate your Birmingham menu
Add one bright salad with citrus and herbs for balance.
Offer a mild jerk mayo alongside the hot sauce so everyone feels included.
Choose one signature main and build sides around it rather than cramming in five proteins.
Provide labelled water stations and plenty of napkins near the grill.
If outdoors, add festoon lighting around the service area for atmosphere and visibility.
