West End String Collective have formed from a group of good friends; we crossed paths through navigating our individual careers in the crazy and uncertain world of acting, but we share a united life long passion for creating music. This passion, when paired with our lives as actors who have tread the boards of the West End, Shakespeare’s Globe, The Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Theatre and more, give us our own unique style as a gigging musical ensemble. We have dedicated our lives to our trade, and we truly love performing and playing together. We are proud to present West End String Collective; which aims to expand our audience base, and looks forward to connecting with you soon!

WESC are here to make your event unforgettable; our dynamic musicians / vocalists play across a range of genres and set ups, aiming to provide you with whatever style of music best befits your special occasion. Our set list options include:

Traditional classical string quartet: Elegant and timeless, we offer you the classical repertoire, beginning with a two piece set up, expanding to the time-tested quartet formation and beyond.

Vocal arrangements: Our signature move is to incorporate vocals into our arrangements where fitting. Having sung together on London’s West End stage, our group offers you vocalists who are truly at the top of the game. This unique take on string ensemble playing is a guaranteed head-turner; trust us!

Folk / Traditional sets: Several of our players are passionately connected to Irish trad, and fiddle playing. We have a large repertoire of stunning trad / folk music, and love to get the party going. We offer a range of set ups, beginning quite minimalistic and expanding to the full piece folk set up, including guitars, mandolins, banjos, and of course, the fiddle!

Pop / contemporary: Set arrangements of modern pop and classic love songs are a staple element of WESC. Add a stunning four part harmony into the mix, and (where desired) there won’t be a dry eye in the house!

Prices (based on locations relatively close to London):

One hour: £150 per player
Two hours (Two sets with a ten minute interval): £200 per player

Singing Lessons With West End Actress

Hello, one and all! I am, from my flat in London, sending you all wishes of good health, and hope your spirits remain high in these testing times. In addition to our string quartet, I am in a position to offer your children (or you!) singing lessons to keep you occupied, happy, and get your creativity flowing and thriving. My lessons are about having FUN; I am happy to cover repertoire from any genre and aim to craft the content of these lessons on a case by case basis, dependant on your interests. If you have teenagers or are a keen singer yourself, we can take a more technical approach. I will lead the lessons from my keyboard at home, accompanying you myself, or perhaps will use backing tracks if that is more appropriate. My suggestion is that lessons last 30 mins / 45 if you’re taking a more technical approach. Another possibility is a group lesson if you have more than one child - get in touch!

FAQs

  • What kind of events do you usually serve?

    - Weddings - Private events and parties - Corporate events - Folk and trad sets in a more relaxed setting Our group is extremely versatile and plays across a range of genres. Please get in touch no matter the event, and we will create the perfect set list together!

  • How long do you play for?

We can play for as long as necessary, but the price will vary accordingly.

  • Do you have your own PA and lighting?

We normally play in an acoustic setting, however if necessary we can provide a PA. We do not come with lights!

  • Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?

We currently don't have Public Liability Insurance. Our instruments are acoustic so PAT not applicable.

  • How much space do you require?

This depends on the number of players you want at the event. A smaller group of 2-3 players will require some chairs and space for music stands, so a small area will do. Bigger groups of 5-6 players understandably need a bit more space.

  • My favourite tune is not on your list. Will you be able to play it?

Absolutely. We will play / sing whatever you desire for your special occasion, however special requests cost a bit more if they aren't already in our repetoire.

  • How many breaks do you take? How long are they?

After every hour of playing we will take a break of ten minutes.
