Nafi was really nice over the phone and the presentation was pretty good! The only issue is i selected non spicy or mild food but somehow the message was apparently lost , and the person who came to serve us didn’t know about it. Safe to say everything was incredibly spicy, and while most guests liked the food hence 4*, my close family couldn’t eat it. Different pallate. We had the godfather who was indian and his wife and they said it was very spicy for them. Ah well thanks overall for feeding us! We had a

Atiq from Spicy Fusion Grill provided a faultless service at my event. From the initial contact to the service provided on the day, he went out of his way to make sure everything regarding his food provision went just perfectly.
The choice of food on offer was great value for money and tasted lovely. So many of my party guests commented on what a great service he gave and what a great idea it was to get in caterers in this fashion.
So thank you Atiq from Spicy Fusion for helping to make my birthday party such a wonderful event!

I could not be more pleased with Banana Leaf. The guys did a great job. They arrived when they said they would, set up with a minimum of fuss and disruption and proceeded to cook a simply delicious meal, that my guests absolutely raved about. I am so pleased with what they did that I plan on using them for a work-related function that I am arranging in London next summer.

Sushi Caterers in Manchester: A Buyer’s Guide That Gets It Right
Looking for sushi caterers in Manchester and want something that feels fresh, stylish, and easy to serve? We hear you. Sushi is the kind of menu that slots into the city’s rhythm, from tech meetups and media wrap parties to graduations and city-centre weddings. It looks sharp, eats neatly, and bridges different tastes without fuss. Below, we cover the formats that work, realistic budgets, how to match the food to Manchester venues, and the questions that help you book with confidence.
Why sushi fits Manchester events
Manchester loves a good gathering. The city moves between industrial loft socials, Northern Quarter get-togethers, hotel suite previews, and studio showcases in a single week. Sushi keeps pace. It is light enough for standing receptions, elegant enough for weddings, and versatile enough to suit vegetarian and vegan guests. Crucially, it scales well, from simple delivery platters to an interactive chef bar that becomes a talking point. If you want food that looks premium without slowing down the party, sushi is a safe pair of hands.
We see it working brilliantly for tech meetups where people are networking with one eye on their laptops, wrap parties where timing can change at short notice, graduations with big family groups, and weddings that want a modern touch during drinks or as a late night refuel. Sushi can be bright, punchy, and street-food friendly, or minimal and polished. That makes it a flexible anchor for almost any Manchester brief.
Choose the format that suits your plan
Your format drives budget, service footprint, and atmosphere. Most events choose one of these three.
Delivery sushi, platters or bowls
This is the simplest route. A curated selection of rolls, nigiri, and veggie options arrives ready to serve. Many Manchester teams also like street-food style bowls, a base of rice or greens topped with fresh fish or crisp vegetables. It is fast to set up, ideal when your access window is tight or you are using a space that does not allow cooking.
Typical price: £11 to £18 per person
Where it shines:
Tech meetups in co-working corners when you want something tidy and crowd friendly
Northern Quarter studio previews where guests want to graze while they chat
Family-heavy celebrations with mixed ages and clear labelling
What to plan for:
Fridge space, especially in summer or warm studios
Serving boards, small signage, and separate utensils for allergens

Precise delivery timing if your building has concierge rules
Live chef and compact sushi bar
A chef prepares rolls and nigiri to order behind a small counter. This adds theatre, keeps portions fresh, and lets guests request tweaks. The bar becomes a focal point without stealing the whole show.
Typical price: £24 to £36 per person
Where it shines:
Media wrap parties that need a visual centrepiece
City-centre weddings where the drinks hour needs momentum
Studio launches where people enjoy watching skilled prep close up
What to plan for:
A two to three metre footprint, plus a small prep table
Access to power for rice warmers and task lights
A defined queue space so watchers do not block the route to the bar
Premium or omakase style
Here the chef curates a guided sequence, served in small flights. It is about precision, pacing, and conversation. This option turns a private room or hotel suite into a tasting experience without feeling stiff.
Typical price: £45 to £65 per person
Where it shines:
VIP previews with fixed guest lists
Intimate city-centre weddings looking for a modern twist before the main meal
Celebrations where you want a hosted narrative and memorable photos
What to plan for:
A quieter corner so guests can hear the chef
Stools or high seating if you want a counter format
A run sheet that ties tasting pauses to speeches or music cues
Match the menu to Manchester spaces
Manchester’s venues have personality. The same service reads differently in each.
Industrial lofts: High ceilings, brick walls, and big windows look superb with long sushi runs. Anchor one end with a live roll station and keep the rest moving on circulating trays. If the room is echoey, position the counter against a wall to reduce chatter bounce.
Hotel suites: These are designed for pace and polish. Consider a short tasting or a compact chef bar paired with small plates. Service can be slower, with a bit of table theatre. Ask the caterer to align flavours with your drinks list, including non alcoholic options.
Northern Quarter bars: Space can be narrow and lively. Street-food style bowls are a winner because they are easy to carry and customise. Keep garnish tidy and create a clear pickup zone so guests can grab and go without clogging the doorway.
Studios and creative spaces: Access timing is everything. Delivery works well for rehearsals and previews, while a mini bar gives guests a reason to linger between sets or screenings. Use stackable displays that look good in photographs and reset quickly.
City-centre weddings: For the reception hour, a live bar delivers the wow you want in that first set of photos. Later in the evening, switch to a platter wave for guests returning from the dance floor. That balance keeps costs steady and ensures the food looks fresh all night.
Themes that feel Manchester, not generic
A clear theme ties the food to the room and the crowd.
Street-food sushi bowls, a fast, colourful format that suits creative spaces and standing receptions
Pan Asian mash ups, Japanese technique with touches from across Asia, bright sauces, crisp textures, and an inclusive vibe
Neon pop art, bold signage, geometric trays, and a playful palette that pops against concrete and brick
If you want something more restrained, go minimal with monochrome serveware and tight menus that spotlight quality ingredients. Either route can be distinctly Manchester when you put the energy into the styling.
What shapes cost beyond the headline price
Use the bands above to gauge your baseline. Final numbers move with:
Guest count, larger parties can reduce price per head, but staffing may rise
Service length, long receptions increase labour even if portions are steady
Ingredient choices, premium tuna and intricate nigiri lift the rate
Equipment, counters, display cases, and ice baths add a modest line
Timing, peak Fridays and weekends in the centre go early and price accordingly
A good caterer will translate your brief into portions that make sense for the schedule. For standing events, we aim for enough bite size pieces to keep energy up without turning the floor into a queue.
Building a menu that works for mixed crowds
Manchester guest lists are diverse. We like a spread that balances the familiar with a few surprises.
Plan around:
Classic maki and nigiri to settle everyone in
Bright veggie and vegan options that feel considered, not token
A couple of warm plates to anchor the cold selection
Seasonal fish for both flavour and sustainability
Clear allergen labelling, with separate utensils and boards
Dietaries to account for:
Gluten free, tamari in place of standard soy and careful handling of tempura
Vegan, avocado maki, inari, grilled vegetable nigiri, and clever plant based fillings
Pregnancy safe, cooked fish, seared toppings, and non raw plates
Flow and staffing that keep the room moving
A touch of choreography keeps things smooth.
Have platters or bowls ready as guests arrive so nobody hovers
Open the live bar once the room has filled to create a natural focal point
Circulate bite size cones and nigiri to reach guests at the back of the space
Pause for any speeches, then relaunch with a signature roll or a fresh bowl topping
For events over two hours, schedule a second wave so photos look sharp throughout
Staffing matters. A typical live bar needs at least one chef and one server per 50 to 70 guests, more if the room is spread across levels.
Lead times and Manchester logistics
Delivery only usually needs one to two weeks, sometimes less off peak. Live bars and tastings benefit from four to six weeks so you can lock staffing, equipment, and access plans. When you confirm the venue, gather the basics early.
Access times, lift size, and load in points
Power availability and any flame restrictions if using torches
Waste management and hand wash access
Fridge space for garnish and prepped items
Insurance certificates and allergen display rules
