We hosted an outdoor, pre-wedding welcome party at a restaurant in Cambridge, England. We met Tomas Ferreira via Pop-Top as we live in Denver, Colorado. We found Tomas very easy to work with and extremely professional. He communicated with the restaurant to firm up logistics and arrived promptly with all the necessary gear. He reached out to us well in advance of our function to work with us on song selection and even enquired about how he should dress. His playing was a wonderful addition to our event. We would highly recommend his services to anyone.
We did struggle a bit with the poptop website, I believe, in part because we are in the states, but Tomas helped us through those challenges along with their support team.

Why book a harpist in London
Live harp instantly lifts the atmosphere. It’s refined, it’s versatile, and it works beautifully in London’s smartest venues as well as intimate private homes. A London harpist can do more than classical favourites. Think contemporary love songs during a rooftop cocktail hour, film themes for a gallery preview, or a stylish set list for premium birthdays. The sound sits perfectly at conversation level, adding warmth and sophistication without ever overpowering the room.
Ideal London events for harp
We see harp shine across these event types:
Wedding ceremony and drinks: processional, signing, and recessional cues followed by light, upbeat pieces for mingling.
Luxury corporate receptions: contemporary instrumentals that feel premium and on-brand, often paired with a cocktail hour.
Private dining: a curated soundtrack that flows between courses and supports conversation.
Gallery previews: elegant background music that feels cultured and modern.
Premium birthdays: tasteful versions of favourite songs to elevate a milestone celebration.
Venues and spaces that suit harp
Harp works almost anywhere, but it’s particularly at home in:
Grand hotels: marble lobbies and ballrooms love the warmth of strings.
Townhouses: the intimacy of salon-style rooms pairs perfectly with solo harp.
Galleries: the resonance complements high ceilings and clean acoustics.
Rooftops: sunlit sets feel magical, though we’ll plan for wind and weather.
Heritage halls: the instrument looks and sounds right at home among period features.
If you’re still deciding on a space, the good news is that harp is one of the easiest live music options to integrate. It needs only a small footprint and modest power if amplification is required.
Style ideas: from “Bridgerton-core” to luxe minimal
London audiences are spoilt for choice when it comes to stylistic direction. A few popular themes:

Modern–classical fusion: Chopin followed by a piano-reimagined pop hit arranged for harp. It feels current, yet timeless.
Luxe minimal: stripped-back arrangements, slower tempos, and lots of space between notes. Ideal for design-led events.
“Bridgerton-core”: classical takes on contemporary tracks for romantic ceremony moments and champagne receptions.
Stylish cocktail hour: upbeat film themes, tasteful jazz standards, and recognisable melodies to keep the mood buoyant.
Tell us the vibe you want. We’ll help you match a London harpist who already performs in that style, so your soundtrack feels intentional rather than improvised.
Contemporary love songs: modern chart tunes arranged for harp.
Film and TV themes: elegant versions that guests recognise immediately.
Light jazz standards: melodic tunes that suit a cocktail setting.
Requests: one or two personal picks for key moments like the aisle walk or a toast.
If you’ve got a special track in mind, ask early. Most players are happy to learn a new piece if it sits well on harp.
Pricing guide for a harpist in London
For London bookings, expect most solo harpist packages to sit in the £350–£500 range. This usually covers one to two hours of performance, basic amplification if needed, and the musician’s travel within the city. A few things that can affect price:
Extra time: adding a longer drinks reception or a dinner set.
Early arrival or late finish: complex schedules and access requirements.
Special repertoire: learning new music or arranging custom pieces.
Outdoor performance setups: windshields, covers, and safe flooring for rooftops or gardens.
Tell us your plan, and we’ll show you clear, all-inclusive prices upfront so you can make fast decisions without juggling multiple quotes.
Practicalities: space, sound, and setup
A successful harp booking is mostly about simple planning. Here’s what we line up:
Space: roughly 2m x 2m is comfortable for a full-size concert harp. A smaller lever harp needs even less.
Power: if amplification is required, a single nearby socket is usually enough.
Access: the instrument is large and delicate. Step-free or lift access is ideal. If stairs are involved, we’ll confirm feasibility.
Weather cover: for rooftops or terraces, shade from sun and protection from wind and rain are essential. The harp can’t get wet.
Noise balance: harp sounds beautiful in reflective spaces. If your venue is very lively, a small speaker helps it carry without raising volume.
Setup time: most harpists arrive 45–60 minutes early to tune and settle.
We’ll coordinate these details with your venue manager so you can focus on the fun bits.
Planning music for specific London moments
Let’s map the music to key moments, so everything flows.
Wedding ceremony and drinks
Guest seating: soft classics as people arrive.
Processional: your chosen theme, timed to your aisle length.
Signing: two short pieces to keep the moment serene.
Recessional: a brighter, celebratory tune.
Drinks: recognisable melodies and light film themes while photos happen.
Luxury corporate reception
Arrival: modern instrumentals that feel premium.
Welcome remarks: a pause for speeches, then a tasteful lift in tempo.
Networking flow: confident, not intrusive. The aim is elegant energy.
Private dining
Seating and first course: gentle openers.
Main course: warm, unobtrusive pieces that support conversation.
Dessert and coffee: slightly more playful selections and a favourite tune for the host.
Gallery preview
Door open: immediate ambience, think modern-classical fusion.
Peak time: a blend of contemporary and light classical so the room feels curated rather than quiet.
Close: end on a familiar melody to leave guests with a smile.
Premium birthday
Arrival: stylish cocktail set to set the tone.
Toast moment: a short, meaningful piece chosen with the host.
After-dinner: a relaxed run of recognisable tunes for a sociable evening.
Solo harp or small ensemble?
Solo harp is often perfect, but you can also pair it with a second musician for a richer texture. Popular choices include violin, flute, or cello. If you’re curious about a duo, tell us the feel you want and we’ll recommend a configuration that keeps the look and sound aligned with your theme.
Timelines that keep the day smooth
For ceremonies: book the harpist to start 20–30 minutes before the aisle walk so arriving guests feel welcomed.
For receptions: plan two 45-minute sets across a 2-hour window, with a short break in the middle.
For dining: three 30-minute sets across the meal works well, leaving breathing room for speeches and service.
We’ll help you slot sets into your schedule so there’s always music at the right moments, never when someone’s trying to speak.
