Connor was absolutely incredible and wowed all my party with both close up magic and a show. Having seen many other magicians over the years at weddings and corporate events I can say he was one of the very best including seeing Dynamo and Deron Brown over the years! He was also very funny and personable with adults and children alike. Would 1000% book again and highly recommend

Connor is just amazing! I booked him for a client's private christmas charity dinner and wow did he deliver. Firstly, from booking he was so lovely and quick to respond, really enthusiastic about the event and so willing to problem solve and deliver truly the best experience for the guests as well as myself and my team.
A few days out from the event we realised I had accidently booked him to start 30 minutes later than the event was running - he was so proactive in contacting me and trying to resolve the issue by changing his travel plans from another event meaning he got to us in time with time to spare - he was so professional yet very approachable and personable so friendly and so easy going slotting in immediately and being so so easy to work with.
Guests were so complimentary of him comparing him to Dynamo and Darren Brown they really blew his mind and he was such a valuable element of the event.
I wouldn't think twice about working with him again and would recommend him to anyone looking for that little bit of 'magic' something a bit different for your event, giving a real personal experience to guests.
Connor, I hope to work with you again!

Adrian came to our work event. Was supposed to be a Christmas party but got postponed due to Covid. Adrian kept our booking and worked with us to fit in another date. He came for an hour and was absolutely amazing.....he actually made one of our staff scream in awe! His tricks leave you astounded and trying to work out how! Really really entertaining and was the talk of the evening. His prices are really good for the service you get so definitely recommend.

Wedding magicians in London: the sleek way to keep your day buzzing
If you’re planning a London wedding and want guaranteed conversation-starters, a wedding magician in London is one of the smartest bookings you can make. Close-up magic and mind-reading thrive in the capital’s mix of grand hotels, rooftop terraces, private members’ spaces and chic restaurants. It’s interactive, it breaks the ice in seconds, and it gives your photographer dozens of genuine reaction shots without interrupting the flow of the day. Below, we’ve put together a practical buyer’s guide that’s tailored to London venues, timings and guest lists, so you can book with confidence and know exactly what to expect.
Where magic fits best in a London wedding
Magic is wonderfully flexible, but a few moments in the day are pure gold for maximum impact.
Drinks reception mingling
The classic slot. Your guests arrive, the fizz is flowing, and your wedding magician glides between clusters performing modern close-up. Think borrowed rings, impossible card work, and clean mind-reading that gets your guests talking. It fills that slightly floaty period while family photos are taken and rooms are turned around, and it keeps energy high without competing with speeches or food service.
What we like about this slot in London is how venues are often spread across multiple rooms or terraces. A professional close-up magician knows how to cover a crowd efficiently, moving with the event team and staying clear of the photographer’s shot list.
Luxury micro-weddings
Smaller doesn’t mean simpler. For high-end micro-weddings, a magician’s material becomes more intimate and often more mind-led. With twenty to forty guests gathered in a private dining room or a members’ lounge, the magic can be structured into a short parlour-style set everyone watches together. Reactions are bigger, the mystery sits closer to your guests, and it feels exclusive without turning the day into a show.
Evening after-party sets
Once the band or DJ hits their stride, we like to deploy table-to-table magic around VIP areas and quieter corners, then offer a short cabaret section between band sets for those who want a breather from the dance floor. A crisp, 15–20 minute stand-up piece with visual hits and light mind-reading lands brilliantly before a final DJ push.
VIP tables and special guests
If you’ve reserved a VIP table for family or colleagues, ask your magician to make two or three passes over the evening with progressively stronger material. It’s a simple way to show extra care without being flashy, and it photographs beautifully. We’ve seen this work a treat at black-tie receptions in Mayfair salons and sky-high lounges.

Curated suppliers
All Poptop’s suppliers are rigorously vetted and approved by our team of party experts, ensuring you book the very best.
London venues bring character—and constraints. Booking a wedding magician in London means choosing someone who understands how the city’s spaces work.
Grand hotels
Ballrooms are designed for flow, but they can be noisy when the party gets lively. Close-up works best if your magician rotates during natural lulls: post-speeches, pre-dessert, or between band sets. If you want a cabaret add-on, make sure the venue can provide a small stage area and a house PA. A professional will carry hand-held microphones and liaise with the in-house AV team.
Rooftop terraces
Gorgeous views, changeable conditions. On breezy evenings, magicians will switch to less paper-based material and more visual pieces. Keep a backup indoor corner if the weather turns or if you need to reduce glare for photography. Sunset timings are perfect for a short, all-guest routine before you cut the cake.
Private members’ spaces
These rooms usually value discretion and polish. Opt for a black-tie look, minimal props, and mind-reading that sparks conversation. Ask for low-footprint routines that won’t scuff tabletops or need a rolling case.
Chic restaurants
Space is precious and service is king. The right magician works around courses, avoids interrupting the kitchen, and keeps routines tight so staff can serve unobstructed. We like a two-pass approach: quick ice-breakers during canapés, deeper pieces between main and dessert.
Styles that suit a modern London crowd
Your guest list might be international, multi-generational, and media-savvy. Choose a style that feels contemporary and effortless.
Sleek, modern close-up. Clean, visual effects performed inches from the eyes. Perfect for mingling and VIP tables.
Mind-reading that feels conversational rather than theatrical. Think thought-of words, names, and numbers presented with a light touch. It’s smart, stylish and pairs well with black-tie events.
Black-tie polish. A sharp tux or tailored suit, pared-back props, and pocket-sized miracles that look at home beside champagne coupes and skyline views.
Multilingual options. London weddings often bring together guests from all over. Many magicians can work in two languages or sprinkle phrases that help non-English speakers feel included. If you’ve a bilingual audience, mention it at enquiry stage so material can be adapted.
What it costs to hire a wedding magician in London
Budgeting early will save decision time later. As a guide, you should expect:
Two hours of close-up performance typically sits between £550 and £900 in London, depending on date, season and profile.
What pushes price up or down? Peak Saturdays from May to September, Christmas party weeks, and late finishes across central zones may carry a premium. Extensive pre-event customisation, additional travel outside the M25, or early load-ins for AV checks can also affect the quote. If you’re scheduling multiple short sets across separate spaces—say, terrace, reception bar and ballroom—flag this so timings are realistic without you overpaying.
Money-saving tip: if you can be flexible on start time, book a tight 90-minute window that hits the reception and early dinner turnaround rather than a sprawling four-hour call. You’ll get the same impact at a leaner cost.
How to shortlist the right magician
The best wedding magician in London for you is the one whose presentation matches your venue and guests. Here’s how we shortlist efficiently.
Watch recent videos filmed in live settings, not just studio reels. You’re listening for timing, charm and clarity in noisy rooms.
Read client feedback that mentions weddings specifically. Corporate magic, while impressive, doesn’t always translate in tone.
Check set outlines. For example: two hours of close-up for drinks and dinner, plus a 15-minute cabaret add-on between band sets. Clear frameworks signal experience.
Look for tidy prop management. In restaurants and members’ clubs, table-safe routines matter.
Ask about multilingual patter if you have overseas guests.
Confirm professional essentials: public liability insurance, PAT-tested equipment if they bring a microphone or speaker, and comfortable maximum audience sizes for each format.
Questions we always ask:
Which parts of our plan will get the biggest reactions in our venue?
How do you coordinate with the photographer and the band?
If timings slip, what’s your approach to keep coverage balanced?
What do you need from us on the day? A contact, a quiet corner, a quick walk-through?
Red flags:
Vague running times.
Over-promising on coverage for very large guest lists.
Heavy reliance on messy props or large tables in tight spaces.
Running orders that actually work
To help you picture the flow, here are three proven schedules for different London wedding shapes.
Classic big-city hotel wedding
Guests arrive for a prosecco welcome on the mezzanine. The magician starts after the first ten minutes, focusing on new arrivals while the couple head for photos.
Family photos begin; the magician covers the terrace clusters and VIP table, saving one or two stronger routines for the couple when they return.
Guests are seated; the magician switches to table-hopping between starter and main, avoiding speeches.
After main course, a 15-minute cabaret set gathers everyone’s attention, then the room turns for dancing.
Chic restaurant micro-wedding
Private dining room set for thirty. The magician opens with a compact, ten-minute parlour routine that everyone watches, then moves into close-up at each table.
During coffee, the couple get a personal routine that becomes a keepsake. The photographer captures reactions without staging anything formal.
If you’ve a small rooftop or snug, a late-evening return gives a second wave of wow before the nightcap.
Skyline evening party
Cocktail hour on the roof. Visual, wind-proof material, quick and punchy.
Short cabaret inside just before the cake. Light mind-reading with audience moments that play well on camera.
Final pass at the VIP table and parents’ group; then handover to the DJ for a full-throttle dance set.
Practicalities and etiquette
A little planning goes a long way.
Sound and light. For cabaret, check whether the venue provides a PA and microphone. If not, your magician can often bring a compact setup suited to medium-sized rooms.
Space and safety. A small, clearly lit corner is ideal for a stand-up set. Keep pathways clear for waiting staff.
Coordination. Introduce your magician to your coordinator, the photographer and the band leader. This avoids clashes with key shots, server runs and first-dance cues.
Children and families. Most wedding magicians carry a few family-friendly pieces. If you’re hosting lots of little ones, let the performer know so they can adjust balance and pace.
Timing slips. London weddings run on London traffic. A pro will adapt, but communicate any changes as they happen so sets stay sharp rather than stretched.
