The singing waiters were amazing, they really started the evening off with a bang and everyone really got into the party spirit. Would definitely suggest for anyone to have them at their wedding to help them and their guests let loose

We had a barbecue party in our garden for 30 guests. We all loved Mark’s singing! He pitched it just right and did exactly what we wanted. He has a great voice and I would definitely book him again. I was also impressed that he managed to get to us on time despite the closure of the M25.
I thoroughly recommend him.

As soon as we made an enquiry we were impressed with Alexander Lomas.
We had several replies but I’m the end we decided to go with Alex because his reply was personalised and appealed to us.
From the first contact thereafter he answered any queries in a timely manner with genuine professionalism and friendliness.
On the night he was just amazing!
The first half he sang in the background allowing our guests to mingle - he was just amazing and even very kindly gave our shy daughter the courage to get up and sing. He was just so lovely with her and we are ever so grateful to him for giving her the confidence boost she needed.
Alex has an amazing voice and an amazing personality to go with it!
The second half he managed to get everyone up dancing - what a repertoire this man has!
We’ve already had friends asking where to hire him for future events - this lovely and highly talented man is in high demand!

We cannot thank him enough for what he did for us at my mums 65th surprise birthday. A few weeks ago! There was massive road closures and he got here early to set up, and also my mum was over a hour late to her surprise. He waited, nothing was a issue he was so accommodating. I’ve never in my life hired a singer and my mums been through a really rough few years and this party we did for her made it so special and having a singer there was literally the making. We are all finding reasons to rebook for another bash! We wish you all the best Mark and thank you from the bottom of my heart. Charlotte x I guarantee you you ain’t seen the last of us lol

Hugely recommend Dean. He was absolutely fantastic at our wedding. Not only did we love him but all of our guests commented on how incredible he was. The way he moved about the tables singing and encouraged participation was brilliant and we cannot thank him enough. He added a great finishing touch to our day, I wish we could give a rank higher than 5!! Thank you again Dean!
We delivered next level parties for exceptional companies
We also did more than 40,000 birthday parties. Probably, including your neighbour’s recent big bash.
Rat Pack and Swing Singers in Leeds: A Buyer’s Guide
Leeds loves a bit of timeless glamour. If you’re planning a celebration and want it to feel polished, warm and properly joyful, Rat Pack and swing singers are a brilliant shout. From silky Sinatra to upbeat Bublé, this style brings easy sophistication without being stuffy, and it works just as well at a grand hotel in the city centre as it does in a converted mill or a country house near the Dales. In this guide we’ll walk you through what to book, what it costs in Leeds, and how to make your night feel like a Yorkshire swing soirée from the first note to the final encore.
What You Actually Get When You Book a Rat Pack or Swing Act
When people search for Rat Pack and swing singers in Leeds, they’re usually after one of three things: a solo vocalist with high quality backing tracks, a singer with a small jazz combo, or a full band for bigger rooms. Each setup has its place.
Solo vocalist: A single singer with professional tracks. Compact, cost-effective and ideal for wedding receptions, corporate awards dinners and university reunions. With the right PA this easily fills a ballroom without overpowering conversation.
Singer plus keys or guitar: Adds the live feel everyone loves. Piano is classic for lounge sets, guitar keeps things light and nimble. Perfect for drinks receptions, museum spaces and open-plan mills where you want musical sparkle but still need space for mingling.
The swing band feel: Think singer plus piano, bass, drums and maybe a horn. This is the energetic option for dancing at a large family event or an end-of-year gala. It needs a bit more floor space and a touch more budget, but it’s the quickest way to get the room moving.
Whichever format you choose, expect a repertoire that blends Rat Pack staples with modern swing-friendly favourites. Most performers happily weave in songs from Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr, then pivot into Michael Bublé, Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin and contemporary pop with a swing twist. That range is the secret sauce, because it keeps all generations engaged.
Leeds Venues and How to Match the Music
Leeds has plenty of characterful spaces and each brings its own acoustic personality. A little planning here pays off.
City-centre grand hotel: Tall ceilings, chandeliers, thick carpets. A solo vocalist or a duo suits cocktail hours and awards walk-ups. For the main party, build to a lively second set that encourages dancing once the formalities wrap.
Converted mill venue: Brick walls, high beams, a touch of industrial chic. A pianist with a compact PA fills the space with warmth during the meal, then a punchier band setup can lift the tempo after speeches. Consider a small dance floor in the middle so the sound spreads evenly.

Curated suppliers
All Poptop’s suppliers are rigorously vetted and approved by our team of party experts, ensuring you book the very best.
Country house near the Yorkshire Dales: Guests arrive in black tie and best dresses, and the countryside backdrop begs for romance. Acoustic cocktail sets in the drawing room, then a more upbeat band in the main hall. If you’ve got multiple rooms, let early evening music welcome people in, then reveal the dance space with a big swing number.
Themes That Feel Custom to Leeds
We like to give an event a simple theme line, nothing cheesy, just a cue for the playlist, dress code and palette.
Yorkshire swing soirée: Classic tux, satin gowns, candlelight and a set heavy on Sinatra, Cole and Ella. Ideal for winter balls and city-centre hotels.
Vintage Northern elegance: A touch of 50s glamour with nods to local heritage. Think Darin, Dean Martin and slow-dance standards to suit mills and heritage halls.
Leeds lounge and libations: Uplifting Bublé and modern crooner hits for sunny receptions, university reunions and contemporary spaces. Add a couple of Motown crossovers to nudge guests onto the floor.
Share your theme line with the performer and they’ll shape intros and patter to match. It’s a small step that makes the whole night feel curated.
Price Guidance for Leeds
For Leeds and surrounding West Yorkshire, a professional Rat Pack and swing singer typically sits between £280 and £620 depending on date, set length and lineup. Here’s how that often breaks down:
Solo vocalist with two 45-minute sets, local travel and PA: from about £280 to £420
Singer with keys or guitar for two 45-minute sets: roughly £380 to £520
Singer with trio or quartet, evening party focus: usually £520 to £620, sometimes more for peak Saturdays
Extras that can affect price
Ceremony or drinks-only add-ons
Late finishes and New Year’s Eve premiums
Early load-in for venue access restrictions
Learning special requests beyond the standard set
Planning tip: if you’re working to a tight budget, book a solo vocalist for the main sets and use a curated playlist for breaks. You keep the live magic where it matters while protecting the spend.
Setlists That Actually Work on the Night
We want your guests humming along within thirty seconds. A well-paced set does the heavy lifting.
Good openers: Fly Me To The Moon, L-O-V-E, Beyond the Sea, It Had To Be You
Mid-set crowd pleasers: Sway, Ain’t That A Kick In The Head, Mack The Knife, Come Fly With Me
Slow-dance moments: Unforgettable, The Way You Look Tonight, At Last, Let There Be Love
Modern swing-friendly picks: Everything, Haven’t Met You Yet, Moondance, Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Finales that leave a grin: New York, New York, That’s Amore, My Way for the big finish, or a Motown singalong if you want a twist
When booking, list your must-plays and any vetoes. Two or three special requests are usually fine, especially if you give a little notice.
How to Fit a Swing Singer Into Different Event Types
Wedding Reception
We like a gentle welcome set while photos finish, then a livelier party set after the first dance. Ask for a dedicated first dance performance if you want it live. Keep the speeches and music PA in one plan so there’s no awkward gear shuffle.
Corporate Awards Dinner
Use short musical stings for walk-ups and a classy background set during the meal. After trophies, switch to a higher energy second set that isn’t too loud for networking. A singer with tracks is tidy and professional in this context.
University Reunion
Start nostalgic and escalate. A Bublé-led set bridges generations, then swing-styled pop invites a communal singalong. Consider a photo moment with a Rat Pack classic as a cue.
Large Family Event
Put beloved classics early to get grandparents smiling, save the cheeky numbers and boppers for later. If children are attending, ask the singer to include one or two light, upbeat tracks everyone recognises.
Sound, Space and Logistics Made Simple
PA and volume: Most solo or duo acts bring a compact PA that suits 80 to 150 guests. Bigger rooms may need a slightly larger system. Tell us guest numbers and the room size, we’ll match it.
Setup and power: Allow 60 to 90 minutes for load-in and soundcheck. One standard 13A socket is usually enough for soloists, two or three for bands. Keep a clear corner or stage area around 2 x 3 metres for a solo act, more for a band.
Changing space: A small private room helps the performer arrive ready and keeps the evening smooth. It’s standard etiquette and makes a big difference.
Outdoor options: If you’re thinking garden drinks, plan for shade, a flat surface and a nearby socket or battery power. Weather back-ups are your friend in Yorkshire.
Making It Feel Personal Without Making It Complicated
Little touches take your night from good to great.
Share two sentences about the couple, company or reunion year so the singer can personalise intros
Pick one signature tune to repeat as a short reprise before the final number
Arrange a surprise dedication to a VIP or award winner
Provide a short do-not-play note if there are songs you’d rather skip
We also recommend agreeing a dress code with the artist. Black tie fits most themes, but a crisp lounge suit or vintage-inspired dress can look perfect in a mill or country house.

Putting Your Leeds Event Together
