Good option for a mix of adults and children. Everyone enjoyed the freshly prepared food with good vegetarian and vegan option. Efficient service, feeding about 90 in an hour and a half.

Booked for Celebration
I booked Matei and team for a garden party for my son’s wedding. They arrived promptly and got set up and served 50 people with no hassle. We were very happy with the food and our guests loved it! Great value for money too! My only suggestion would be that a little improvement to communication would enhance the overall experience.

Booked for Wedding
We had them as evening meal for our wedding and we couldn't be happier. The caterers were super discreet, explained times and way to order clearly and were both really lovely. The food was amazing, like proper street food, you get a lot for the price as well! Would highly recommend Chiki monkey for your event, especially if you have vegans coming!

Middle Eastern Catering in Bristol: A Practical Buyer’s Guide
Planning a party in Bristol and craving smoky spices, colourful salads, and that glorious warm flatbread smell drifting through the room? Middle Eastern catering brings big flavours and generous hospitality to everything from garden parties to agency celebrations on the harbourside. In this guide we’ll walk you through what’s popular in the city, how to match menus to venues, what service format to choose, and how to book with confidence. We’ll keep it straightforward, friendly, and focused on Bristol so you can make quick decisions and get on with the fun bit.
Why Middle Eastern Works So Well in Bristol
Bristol loves food that feels social and creative, and Middle Eastern menus are built for exactly that. Mezze spreads invite guests to graze and chat, big sharing platters look fantastic in industrial warehouses and studios, and fresh salads keep sustainable weddings feeling light and seasonal. You can dial the experience up with live cooking stations or keep it relaxed with trays of mezze and breads for a harbourside picnic vibe. It’s flexible, flavourful, and easy to adapt for mixed dietary needs.
Events This Style Suits Best
We work with Middle Eastern caterers across Bristol every week, and these are the events where they shine:
Creative agency dos where people want variety without heavy sit-down courses
Sustainable weddings that favour seasonal produce, minimal waste, and family-style service
Garden parties that need flavour-packed food that still feels summery
Milestone birthdays with guests across age ranges and diets
Community events that benefit from inclusive, shareable menus and warm hospitality
Bristol Spaces That Pair Beautifully
Think about the setting before you pick the menu. Here’s how we match formats to common Bristol spaces:
Harbourside venues: mezze buffets for indoor-outdoor flow, charcoal grills on approved terraces, a Syrian baklava and tea corner for the evening wind-down
Warehouses: long tables, sharing platters, and a shawarma or kofta live station to bring theatre to a big room
Gardens: picnic-style mezze, cold salads, dips, and portable grills, plus weather-proof service plans
Studios: passed canapés, compact live stations, and neat hot-holding for minimal footprint
We offer some of our family favourites such as falafels, chicken and halloumi as well as meze platter for that bit more special event.
We also make bespoke gourmet burgers worth trying of.

You’ll see a range of service options in Bristol. Each has a slightly different feel and budget profile. Typical guide pricing:
Casual mezze, £13 to £21 per person
Classic mezze and mains, £21 to £34 per person
Premium dining with extra courses or higher-end proteins, £40 to £64 per person
Live stations such as shawarma or grilled halloumi, £58 to £95 per person
Minimum spend, usually £600 to £1.1k depending on date, travel, and logistics
Use these figures to sense-check quotes. If your guest list is small, the minimum spend will matter more than the per-person price. For larger groups, per-person pricing becomes the key driver.
Menus That Win in Bristol
Most caterers structure menus around mezze, mains, and sweets, with optional live elements. Build a plate like this and you’ll keep everyone happy.
If you want to make it feel unmistakably Bristol, ask for seasonal touches like West Country vegetables in the salads or a citrus-herb dressing that suits a waterside setting.
Three Bristol-Ready Themes
A simple theme helps guests understand the concept at a glance and gives your styling a direction. Here are three that work brilliantly:
Harbourside mezze picnic
A relaxed spread of dips, salads, and warm breads, with cold grilled veg, stuffed leaves, and pastry bites. Add a chilled mint tea dispenser and soft seating. Perfect for gardens, terraces, or bright studios.
Moroccan berber tent
Low tables, patterned cloths, lanterns, tagine service, and perfumed rice. Great in warehouses or eco-spaces where you can create a cosy zone within a big room.
Syrian baklava and tea corner
Set up late-evening with trays of pastries, dates, and a tea urn. This can be a standalone dessert station or a sweet finish to a classic mezze dinner.
Choosing the Right Format for Your Event
To narrow options fast, start with guest style and movement:
Mostly mingling, short speeches
Go for canapé-style mezze or a buffet with small plates. Add one live station for theatre.
Seated but informal
Large sharing platters to the table work well. Serve breads and salads first, then proteins and hot sides.
Formal feel without fuss
Three-course plated menu using Middle Eastern flavours. Keep portions balanced and presentation clean.
Day-into-night timeline
Mezze lunch, grill station for the early evening, then the baklava and tea corner as guests settle in.
Dietary Needs and Allergens
Middle Eastern catering is naturally friendly to varied diets. Here’s how we keep it smooth:
Vegetarians and vegans: build a full plate from salads, breads, dips, stuffed vegetables, and falafel
Dairy-free: many classic dishes are naturally dairy-free, just separate yogurt sauces
Gluten-free: ensure labelled breads and pastries are kept separate, lean on rice dishes and grilled meats or veg
Nut allergies: flag early, as pistachios and almonds are common in sweets and rice dishes
Halal: many Bristol caterers offer halal meat as standard or on request
Ask suppliers to label each item clearly. We’ll make sure that happens, so guests feel safe and cared for.
Sustainability Without Stress
For sustainable weddings and eco-focused events, ask for:
Veg-forward menus with seasonal produce
Reusable or compostable serveware where appropriate
Thoughtful waste plans and water refill points
Leftover strategy, boxed safely for next-day use where venue rules allow
We’ll help align the menu to your sustainability goals without compromising on flavour.
Logistics That Often Get Missed
A quick checklist saves a lot of back-and-forth:
Access and parking: confirm loading points for harbourside and city-centre sites
Power and ventilation: required for shawarma spits and grills, with clear venue approvals
Water point: needed for hand-washing and tea service
Prep area: even drop-off mezze benefits from a clean surface and brief access
Timings: allow a sensible window for set-up, service, and breakdown
Weather plan: gazebos or tenting for gardens, plus a rain contingency for live cooking
Share a floor plan if you have one. We’ll place stations to reduce bottlenecks and keep the room flowing.
How to Brief a Supplier in Minutes
Give us four essentials and we can match you quickly:
Date, postcode, and guest count
Venue type and access notes
Preferred theme, for example Harbourside mezze picnic
Budget level: Casual, Classic, Premium, or Live stations
If you’re undecided, we’ll provide two or three shaped options with instant, all-inclusive pricing so you can compare like-for-like.
Sample Builds by Budget
To help you visualise outcomes, here are typical configurations:
Casual, £13 to £21 per person
Mezze buffet with three dips, two salads, warm breads, falafel, and roasted veg. Great for garden parties and community events.
Classic, £21 to £34 per person
Mezze starter selection, a protein such as chicken shawarma or lamb kofta, rice or bulgur, and a pastry dessert. Ideal for agency dos and birthdays.
Premium, £40 to £64 per person
Expanded mezze, two proteins, a veggie centrepiece like roast cauliflower with tahini, sides, and a plated dessert. Smart enough for weddings, still relaxed.
Live stations, £58 to £95 per person
A shawarma or grill station with chef-carved portions, mezze sides, and hot flatbreads. Adds theatre to warehouses and harbourside venues.
Minimum spend typically sits between £600 and £1.1k. We’ll flag this early so you can decide whether to scale guest numbers or adjust the format.
