Poptop Celebrates 5000th Afternoon Tea Delivery: How This British Tradition Is Helping the UK Through Lockdown

We have some huge news! This February, we have reached 5000 Afternoon Tea delivery bookings throughout lockdown. Last Wednesday on #randomactofkindnessday we were lucky enough to deliver this milestone afternoon tea. Check out how it went below!

Throughout the lockdown, we have seen a surge in Afternoon Tea deliveries. This is our great silver lining throughout the past year. Our Event marketplace has over 14,000 suppliers all over the UK, some of whom have actually created their businesses during this difficult past year. We are deep in the know-how when it comes to afternoon tea delivery now. In February our suppliers had more than 550 bookings or afternoon tea. At Poptop, we have our fingers crossed that we will get around 2000 for Mother’s day!

How Lockdown Afternoon Teas Have Impacted the UK & Poptop

Although private celebrations have been restricted since last year, here at Poptop, we never stopped believing in the importance of celebration. We were completely right! During the lockdown it is more evident than ever that people are still commemorating all of the special moments. From Birthdays and Anniversaries to holidays like Valentine’s Day and Halloween; we have seen the party spirit in the British public!

One of the main ways that we have been celebrating is with Afternoon Tea Parties! Social distancing, facemasks and other restrictions are always the most important element to afternoon tea deliveries. We have even received bookings from America and Australia – People who have surprised family members from abroad with afternoon tea!

All About Our 5000th Afternoon Tea Delivery

Colette made this incredible milestone booking for her Sister Angela’s Birthday. For Angela, who lives in Cheadle, this was a massive surprise. To celebrate this milestone, and commemorate Angela’s Birthday, Poptop upgraded the afternoon tea to add some champagne and extra treats! Angela and her family loved the surprise and enjoyed the incredible Afternoon Tea made by one of our incredible suppliers, Elegant Eats.
