The band was excellent, very good musicians and they looked great in their traditional costumes with big sombreros. We had some Mexican guests at our party who requested some traditional mariachi songs, and the band knew them & played them.
Their set was very authentic (all sung in Spanish) and a lot of fun. They brought a great energy to our party, and I definitely recommend them.

The Mariachi Amigo Trio were fantastic! We had a fabulous party and the music was incredible and the band super friendly, they really made the night for me and all my friends. I was so nervous as I hadn’t heard them live and the videos really do not do them justice! The atmosphere was perfect and they got everyone dancing. I would definitely have them again, the only downside was that we didn’t book the band for longer. Honestly, worth every penny!

Absolutely fantastic! They were really good at comms, were really keen to sort the logistics of the surprise, and spread so much joy! They even learned ‘crocodile rock’ as my boyfriend is an Elton fan, which he said was better than the original! Really fun music, talented musicians, everyone was so surprised and had a great time. Thank you so much ♥️

Mariachi Bands in Birmingham: the complete buyer’s guide
Birmingham knows how to do big occasions. From banqueting suites that sparkle to conference hotels with pristine sound systems, the city is built for celebrations that bring people together. Add a mariachi band and you get colour, charisma, and the kind of upbeat energy that makes even the shyest guest hum along. If you are looking for Mariachi Bands in Birmingham, this guide walks you through the choices that matter: the best line-ups for different spaces, how to pace sets so the atmosphere stays electric, what it should cost, and the small planning touches that elevate a good party into a brilliant one.
We have placed mariachi in grand ballrooms, suburban gardens with fairy lights, and corporate halls where delegates go from polite smiles to full chorus in two songs. We have learned what works in this city and what to avoid, and we have turned that experience into practical advice you can apply straight away.
What a Birmingham mariachi band brings to the room
A professional mariachi band delivers more than background music. You get a roaming performance that stitches the room together and a look that photographs beautifully. Expect:
Clear trumpet lines that carry through large rooms without feeling harsh
Warm vocal harmonies that invite guests to sing, clap, and join in
A flexible, mobile style that works around tables, photo points, and speeches
Traditional outfits that add instant theatre and a strong visual identity
Repertoire that blends Mexican classics with Latin favourites and playful takes on familiar pop
This combination is a great fit for Birmingham’s event scene. Many venues here are spacious and formal. A polished quartet can make a grand entrance, fill a big space with sound, then roam from table to table so every guest gets a moment.
Where mariachi shines in this city
Large weddings
Big guest lists need entertainment that is clear, joyful, and easy to position around the day. We like a high-impact entrance as the couple move into the reception, followed by roaming during photos, and a short spot set before dinner so everyone takes their seats smiling. For evening receptions, a quick burst before the first dance creates a bridge into the DJ.
Gala dinners
Galas often have a fixed running order. Mariachi fits in the seams. Think opener as guests arrive, a lively interlude between starter and main, then a final piece before the auction or awards. The right quartet can work at a polite volume for conversations, then dial up for applause moments without overwhelming the room.
Frequently asked questions
What is a mariachi band?
A mariachi band is a group of professional musicians who play folk-derived Mexican songs, often sung in Spanish or English. The modern mariachi band consists of eight violins, two trumpets, at least one guitar, a high-pitched vihuela, and an acoustic bass guitar, also known as a guitarrón. All of the musicians take turns singing lead and backing vocals. To give you a truly amazing Mexican experience, your Mariachi band will arrive fully dressed in vibrant, ostentatious clothing and wide-rimmed sombreros.
How much is a mariachi band to hire in Birmingham?
Hiring a mariachi band in Birmingham on Poptop will cost you between £600 to £800. However, this is not a set price. The prices are influenced by the service duration, travel cost, the number of performers, and other additional services. While the price for a mariachi band differs according to the supplier, the cost will cover the whole sound equipment, setup, and soundcheck. Poptop allows you to compare prices when you submit your event details, including your event date and location, on the website.

We provide a vibrant show with big doses of elegance, passion, raw emotion, and beautifully subtle parts, as well as dancy numbers. Wide contrast of dynamics. We can do a more traditional and 'formal' show, where the audience are likely to be sat down and watching attentively, or a faster, more upbeat one, to provide a festive atmosphere for a celebration, tapas event, or party. We can also have different levels of interaction with our audience, like running a small dance workshop, etc.
About supplier
Our group has extensive experience performing nationally and internationally. Our singer is Spanish and all 3 members have studied flamenco in Andalusia with some of the greatest masters of the last few decades, like Gerardo Nunez, Eva La Yerbabuena, or Jose Moneo.

Conferences benefit from ice-breakers that feel premium and fun. A compact set at registration, a roaming loop through pre-dinner drinks, and a sharp five-minute energiser before the keynote do the job. Delegates talk, laugh, and relax more quickly when the band leads the mood.
Multicultural parties
Mariachi connects across generations and cultures. The music is bright and welcoming, and the roaming style is inherently inclusive. For mixed-tradition weddings or family events, it sits happily alongside other entertainment. Brief the band on any cultural moments or toasts so the music frames them with respect and flair.
Spaces and how to use them
Banqueting suites
These rooms are built for spectacle. A high-impact quartet is ideal. Plan a dramatic entrance from the back of the room, move down the central aisle, pause for a short centre-stage set, then roam between tables. Check sight lines so photographers catch the first notes with the room behind the band.
Conference hotels
Conference hotels are brilliant for logistics. You will have good access, lifts, and often a technician on site. Use that to your advantage with a short, crisp soundcheck. Schedule a five-minute opener at the top of the evening, a roaming pass during the first drinks break, then one focused performance before speeches.
Suburban gardens
Garden parties are perfect for acoustic or battery-powered sets. Keep the band on firm, level ground and plan a sheltered corner in case of drizzle. Roaming works beautifully outdoors. The band can move from marquee to patio to lawn, keeping energy consistent as guests circulate.
Themes that suit Birmingham events
Grand entrance
Give the room a true opening moment. Lights up, trumpets bright, and a two-minute medley that lands a cheer. It sets tone and tempo for the evening and it creates instant content for photographers.
Roaming table-to-table
The signature mariachi move. An attentive quartet can read the table quickly, offer a chorus to one group, a photo moment to another, then keep moving so the entire room gets contact. It is personal without being intrusive, exactly what big Birmingham dinners need.
High-impact quartet
A quartet gives balance and punch: trumpet for sparkle, guitarrón for depth, vocals for harmony, and a guitar or vihuela for rhythm. It holds a large room, fits neatly through aisles, and looks smart on a small stage when needed. If you are unsure where to start, this is the sweet spot.
How much to budget for Mariachi Bands in Birmingham
Most bookings fall between £600 and £1,250. Where you land depends on a few clear variables.
Line-up size. Trio at the lower end, quartet in the middle, larger ensembles near the top
Duration and structure. More sets or late finishes add to the fee
Date and demand. Summer Saturdays and festive weeks are premium periods
Travel and access. Central load-ins, early calls, or tight turnarounds can add modest costs
Special requests. Learning a specific song or extended roaming may carry a small supplement
As a rough guide, a compact trio for a garden celebration or a conference reception often sits near the lower range. A polished quartet covering arrivals, roaming, and a short feature set lands in the middle. A larger ensemble or very long booking can take you to the top of the range.
Line-ups and sound choices
Trio. Agile, intimate, perfect for smaller rooms and surprise moments
Quartet. The recommended option for most banqueting suites and hotels, strong presence without dominating
Quintet or more. Extra visual impact and richer harmony for statement moments or cavernous rooms
Acoustic performance is part of the charm, and it keeps setup minimal. In larger spaces, a compact speaker helps for static sections. Battery power avoids cables across walkways. Share your floor plan and guest count so the band can bring exactly what is needed and nothing more.
Pacing the music so the night flows
Good pacing is the difference between novelty and a proper feature. Our go-to structures:
Two sets of 45 minutes for weddings and gala dinners
Three sets of 30 minutes for long receptions with natural pauses for speeches and service
Short, repeatable bursts of 10 to 15 minutes for conferences and exhibitions
Build small breaks into the running order. Musicians perform at their best with short breathers, and the audience stays keen for the next entrance.
Repertoire and requests
Great mariachi bands carry a deep library of Mexican standards and Latin favourites. In Birmingham, we also see strong response to well-known pop tunes with a mariachi twist. If there is a must-play for your family, your company, or your story as a couple, send it early so the band can arrange it. If you prefer a more traditional sound, say so in your brief and the set will lean that way. Bilingual introductions work nicely for mixed audiences and multicultural parties.
Practical details Birmingham planners often miss
Access notes. Provide the exact loading entrance and any height limits for vehicles
Timed deliveries. Many venues require pre-booked slots for load-in and load-out
Sound management. Big rooms can feel lively. Agree maximum levels and static spots in advance
Break space. A small corner for cases and five-minute breathers keeps things tidy
Weather plan. For gardens, note shade in summer and cover in spring or autumn
Photo moments. Decide where you want the staged shot, then time it for the end of a set
Running order. Place short bursts between service points so the music frames, rather than competes with, food and speeches
Respect for cultural timings. For multicultural parties, share the order of ceremonies so the band can build around prayer, toasts, and family traditions
How to brief your band for a Birmingham event
You do not need a novel. A concise, clear brief is gold.
The essentials. Date, venue address, contact on the day, and any access quirks
The feeling. Grand entrance with a wow, a classic and elegant tone, or a lively street-party vibe
The structure. Where the band appears, how long each set is, and whether roaming is expected
The must-plays. One or two special songs or genres you want included
The no-list. Anything you would rather avoid
The presentation. Traditional outfits or a slightly more understated look for conferences
The practicals. Power options, decibel caps, and where cases can be stored
With that, a seasoned band can map a plan that fits your event neatly.
