The Prognosis are the Surrey based progressive rock tribute band recreating the sounds produced by a number of excellent prog rock bands from the seventies and eighties.
This musical genre first established in the 70’s by the former Surrey based bands of Genesis and Camel is now being re-discovered with the help of The Prognosis who are creating a renewed groundswell of interest in this type of music.
The Prognosis play a complex and varied set of classics, from Shine on you Crazy Diamond and Comfortably Numb from Pink Floyd, Firth of the Fifth, Cinema Show, The Knife and Turn It On Again from Genesis , Lady Fantasy, Rydar Goes to Town and Dunkirk from Camel and others classics from the likes of Supertramp, Deep Purple, Focus, Caravan, Rush, King Crimson, ELP, Jethro Tull & Steve Hackett as well as their own original material.
Maidstone-based Just Floyd are a five piece outfit who pride themselves on capturing the sound and feel that is the magic of Pink Floyd.
They have a lightness and relaxed authenticity to their performance that is often commented on and commended - and feels closer to the original spirit of Pink Floyd than some of the robotic, studio performances typical of many tribute bands. There is an edge to this band's sound - live music at its best.
It's no surprise that the current line-up has been described as 'the most authentic live Pink Floyd tribute'.
Yet despite this accolade, the band do not proclaim to be an imitation - you'll see no stage theatrics, costumes or acting; and no 'original', unreliable 1970's equipment! Just Floyd is about the music of Pink Floyd.

Having toured since 2007, The Floyd Effect has become rightly renowned for the remarkable accuracy with which it performs the iconic music of Pink Floyd.
All of the band's members are top quality musicians with pedigrees that stretch across all manner of musical genres, and they faithfully recreate the music and intensity of a Pink Floyd concert without recourse to backing tracks, racks of computers, or other technological wizardry. Every note that you hear is played and sung by the band, making each concert a genuine 'live' experience, powerful, immersive and emotional. Of course, the music is supported by a dramatic light show that incorporates the iconic circular screen, two sets of projections (incorporating some of Pink Floyd's own images and some of the band's own), smoke and lasers. Unless you were there the first time round, the music of Pink Floyd was never as real as this.
