The Mac Daddy was established in February 2018. We have been serving our gooey Mac to people in Cambridge ever since. We attend lots of festivals and events, and since trading have won Street Food Trader of the year. We are proud to say we have a 5-star hygiene rating.
What makes us different? All our Mac is cooked fresh to order from a home-built cargo bike! We use compostable pots and cutlery and even plant trees to offset our carbon foot print. Wea re strong believers of random acts of kindness so don’t be surprised if you have your Mac given to you. All of our cheese is veggie and we cater for Vegans too. In fact, our vegan mac has been talked about a lot and people absolutely love it!
We were doing so well and then we all entered into the pandemic and we had to cease trading to keep the vulnerable safe, and to help the NHS.
We sat there twiddling our thumbs unable to attend the much-loved festivals we had booked in, the May Balls and all our other event. Our income stopped. We like to think that we are positive people, so we didn’t let the fear manifest and we understood that this was only going to be temporary, so got to work.
During all the Lockdowns we watched the beautiful journey of some of our friends expecting and having babies, so we decided it was time to have a baby of our own!
It gives us great pleasure (and pride) to announce that there we now have a second bike ready to be released into this beautiful world. We can't wait to be able to share our journey with you all.
The Mac Daddy 1.0 is looking Prime! The cheesy 3 wheeler has been enjoying the break from work and has had a lot of time in a lockdown spa and is looking fresh AF!
We will continue to be on Cambridge Market, as soon as it reopens. We have missed everyone. Our customers have been in our thoughts.
We still have our festival set up's and we can’t wait to be dancing with you again in the festival fields as soon as we can!
