The Distance formed in 2011 and have quickly established ourselves as one of the UK's leading vocal duos. We have performed at functions large and small all over the world and our constant attention to detail has earned us a reputation for excellence and reliability. With a repertoire spanning many genres over many decades, we are flexible enough to adapt our performance style to suit the mood.

So whether it's quiet and tasteful background music performed with just a guitar and two vocals, or a full on party complete with backing tracks, full stage (and dance floor) lighting and a powerful 6000watt PA system capable of filling the largest function room, you can be sure The Distance will deliver a great performance that your guests will love.Mat and Sophie share lead vocal duties, each complimenting the other with intricate harmonies and bringing the party to your guests.

Our party sets are lively and entertaining, featuring popular classics like Johnny B Goode (Chuck Berry), 9 To 5 (Dolly Parton) and Jailhouse Rock (The Blues Brothers' version - obviously) as well as modern hits like Sex On Fire (Kings Of Leon), Domino (Jessie J) Black Horse & A Cherry Tree (K T Tunstall)For a more subtle ambiance such as a wedding breakfast or champagne reception, our acoustic set is packed full of well known songs like More Than Words (Extreme), I Don't Want To Talk About It (Rod Stewart) and Rhythm Is A Dancer (Snap) all performed in an evocative, low-fi style. Wondering what happens when we're off stage? Usually a DJ will keep the music going with a disco in between sets. But if this isn't in your budget, The Distance will provide the disco courtesy of a laptop bursting with thousands of songs from all genres. Classics like Oops Upside Your Head, Living On A Prayer and Dancing Queen, as well as modern hits like Moves Like Jagger, Mr Brightside and Crazy In Love are guaranteed to get even the most curmudgeonly old uncle off their seat and onto the dancefloor.Previous clients include Ford, Jaguar, Twickenham Stadium, Turkish Airlines, Rolls Royce, Hilton Hotels, and a host of weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. Check out reviews fro a few of our clients below..

So whether you're planning a small get together with a few close friends and relatives or a full-on festival of fun, The Distance are a great choice. See our pricing guide for more information about our fees or Contact Us directly to discuss your requirements.

I booked The Distance for my 40th birthday ball in September 2014. I couldnt have been happier with the whole experience. From booking to the performance they were utterly professional and enthusiastic. They were so hard working and the vocals were stunning. Thank you Matt and Sofiee for being utterly amazing! We will be seeing you again! Chris
