I’ve had the pleasure of working with Spud for over 20 years, we book him regularly at the hotel and other guests book him privately for events like weddings and parties. In all cases, I’ve never found him anything other than friendly and utterly professional. He’s never let us down and strives to be the best he can be. Book him for your special day and you won’t just get a piper, but someone who is personally committed to make sure your day is superb!

I have worked with Spud on a number of occasions spanning more than a decade, from food and drink festivals to publicity events to news stories and every time is always a pleasure. He is a complete professional whose flexibility and ease of manner makes working with him so easy. His Highland dress is impeccable and eye-catching, definitely adding the 'wow' factor to events and his musical repertoire is ever-expanding - no matter the style, if you want a tune played, he will find a way! I can't recommend him enough - Spud is just great to work with and always brings fun to proceedings.

We came to Scotland from Australia to be married on the banks of Loch Ness. Spud was the first contact I made. Spud then put me in touch with a humanist, photographer, hairdresser, makeup artist. As we were in Australia we couldn't pick the exact location for our cermony. Spud went out of his way to take a drive and find an incredible spot, with sensational views for us. Thank you Spud.

Spud kindly attended a conference held in Edinburgh for our Swedish based company and not only entertained us with his wonderful piping skills but he took the time to talk to us about himself and the history of the bagpipes in detail. The group was then able to try playing the pipes themselves with instructions from Spud. For many this was a first and perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity. I cannot thank Spud enough for this experience which was greatly appreciated by everyone. Not only is Spud a wonderfully talented piper but he is extremely knowledgeable, funny and friendly.

FANTASTIC, I have used pipers on numerous occasions and I know a good one when I hear one..... Spud's father piped at my parents wedding and it was only appropriate that Spud continue the tradition and pipe at our wedding. We left it to Spud to select what tunes he played and we’re so pleased we did. "I had the utter pleasure of filming the wonderful Spud for a BBC documentary that followed people's lives in the Highlands in 2013/2014. I filmed Spud performing on his bagpipes across the Cairngorms over a period of seven months. I documented him playing at a wide variety of events from weddings, new years eve, piping in the haggis on Burns night and the Opening of Spay River.

First met Spud at a friends Wedding in Kazakhstan in 2004, then regularly after that at the Annual Burns Suppers, before being the Special guest at my own wedding in 2010. We remain very good friends to date. He can bring something to an event that others will not be able too. He has exuberant talent & a fantastic personality to go with it.
