Hi, My names Sheryl, I've been working as a professional photographer for 10 years now, but photographing for many more years than that! Before that I worked in many jobs and roles that I feel have helped me as a photographer, these were all people/children based. I have been a Nanny, Nursery Nurse, Carer for Disabled/Life limited Children, Assistant Manager in a Pub, Swimming Instructor for Waterbabies! But through it all I always loved taking photos!

I like to have a good chat with my clients, get to know them, their personalities and what makes them tick, it helps me get the best out of them when I photograph them. I like to keep it fairly informal it helps my clients relax. A chat over a cup of tea and tell me all about the plans for your amazing day, how you met and how you got here. I find it helps you relax and realise that photographers aren't all scary, and being in front of the camera can be good fun! As I'm finding an increasing number of people uncomfortable in front of the camera! - that's not what we want!
I use long lenses when I photograph so I don't need to encroach in your personal space to be able to capture stunning, magical images! I also don't over-pose my clients, I prefer to capture things how they naturally happen, so whilst I will give some instruction, you wont look like statues! I feel its my job to capture things how they happen, not recreate or falsify things. I'm used to working with large and small groups of people, and all kinds of people. I haven't come across a child, adult, Granny or Grandad I couldn't photograph! Yet! Ohh and I've had to photograph my fair share of rowdy Groomsmen!

Sheryl was amazing! We were a family group of all ages and she made everyone feel very comfortable and relaxed. Sheryl did a good mix of relaxed and group shots over a 2 hour period, she took time to know about the group dynamics and stories. Highly recommend.

Sheryl was a pleasure to work with. From the enquiry and booking stage through to our event, she was responsive yet not pushy! She arrived early for a reccy, then started snapping away, blending in with our family and guests at Dad's 95th birthday celebration. Nothing seemed to faze Sheryl, even when we had to rearrange the programme order - we just let her know and she was cool about it. I am very grateful to Sheryl for being a part of our small ceremony. My photographer called me 3 days before the wedding to tell me that his son had Covid and the whole household needed to self-isolate. I tried pop top to see if I can get someone to photograph us for only 2 hours at short notice and Sheryl quickly responded and communicated with me so we were able to reach agreement within minutes. She was on time and ready, very friendly and helpful. The whole experience was relaxed and stress-free for us.
