Luka was born and raised in Japan and is currently settled in North Yorkshire. Her passions are music, art, and history and she especially finds beauty in the glamorous world of vintage culture and jazz.
Her unique singing background started in Nagauta (traditional Japanese music which accompanies the Kabuki theatre). Later, Luka joined a jazz band in Japan. She fell in love not only with jazz songs but also the style: gorgeous dresses, perfect hair, make-up and charismatic personalities such as her idols Julie London and Peggy Lee.
Performing alongside professional jazz musicians, Luka’s rich, warm voice carries elegance with feelings. Featuring jazz standards with up-lifting swings, beautiful ballads, relaxing bossa nova and Latin pieces, Luka’s live sets are perfectly suited to hotel residencies, drinks receptions, and private parties. Luka has performed in London's best 5 star hotels such as The Savoy Hotel, The Londoner Hotel.
Creative to her core, Luka has created a look and sound that brings glamour to every stage. Having worked as a professional make-up artist for 10 years, Luka styles her own hair and makeup for every performance. Much of her wardrobe is bespoke too, sewing many of her stunning dresses herself.

Luka and her accompanist Rod were delightful to have with us. They arrived punctually, were very friendly and obliging, Luka looked wonderful in her own handmade dress. Her voice was deep and attractive and her song list of cool jazz extensive. Rod’s guitar accompaniment was fitting. The two created a party atmosphere at our sit-down marquee dinner. Their charm was infectious and guests gave them a big applause after their ten minute spot at a higher volume.
Although they had been willing to invite people to dance at the end of the evening, this didn’t happen but they didn’t force the issue while people were deep in conversation..

Luka performed at my husband's recent birthday party and was a massive hit. She sang two sets of beautifully delivered songs and introduced each one with a lovely reflection on her choice and interpretation. She won the hearts of the whole audience, making them laugh and cry. Her voice is gorgeous and she looks stunning. The event was a pleasure to arrange, Luka is helpful, responsive, friendly and reliable. She happily adapted to playing an open-air space in our orchard and her set up and pack up was a breeze, whilst the sound quality was excellent. I cannot recommend Luka highly enough.
We booked Luka to perform at our wedding and we are so happy we did! She was an absolute pleasure to work with - she is incredibly organised and professional and made the whole process completely stress free. Her performance was stunning and all our guests loved her. Luka was booked with very late notice to replace an artist and although she didn't have previous experience of the event was thorough with planning, flexible with our set up, incredibly easy to communicate with and a pleasure to welcome on to the team. With a small guide to the aesthetic of the event, Luka tailored her image to what we required and was absolutely perfect, presenting herself immaculately throughout. The song choice was discussed beforehand and she brought her own equipment which was ideal for our space. I have no hesitation in booking Luka again, and in fact, have done due to her attitude and talent. She was a wonderful addition and really brought the vintage vibes to life with both her outfit and her sultry voice. Luka is not only a complete jazz professional—with both rare and less-familiar jazz gems up her sleeve and ready to go—she also sparkles! She lit up the room (when headlining at our most recent outdoor Sultry Summer Party gig) with her evocative double-entendre in numbers such as "Teach Me Tonight" and the exotic ambience she brought to both familiar and less-well known Jobim compositions (that sounded like she just stepped off a direct flight from Rio) as well as her Cuban renditions in perfect Latin American Spanish.
