Two years ahead of my wedding, I contacted vendors to find one available from 4pm–11pm. I paid for food portions in advance so guests could help themselves throughout the night. Many vendors declined due to the long hours, but Will at E8 agreed and assured me it wouldn’t be an issue.
Three months before the wedding, I checked back in and was surprised when Will told me they only serve for a maximum of two hours. Thankfully, our original conversation was saved in the Poptop chat, so I shared a screenshot as a reminder. Despite this, I was told I'd need to pay extra for the additional hours. With the wedding so close, I didn’t want to risk a last-minute cancellation, so I reluctantly agreed and paid the extra fee.
The food on the day was great, but after just two hours, the staff said they were running out and had to leave. This didn’t make much sense, as I had paid for 60 portions, we had around 70 guests, and there were three food vans in total. Many guests mentioned they never got to try the fish and chips, and the other two vendors, who had similar numbers didn’t run out until 10pm
I contacted Will to ask if I could be refunded for the additional hours, but never heard back. I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but I genuinely feel taken advantage of here.
