Derby Face Painting & Balloon Twisting

I recently booked 'Fab' a caricature artist for my special birthday event. The booking process was flawless and professional with 'Poptop Events'. The communication with the artist 'Fab' prior to the event was fine and detailed to ensure that he delivered a service that complemented the event. I relayed that I liked black and white caricatures as I think they look more classy and the examples I had seen of his work were in colour. He confirmed prior that he usually worked in black and white so not a problem. I also said that I would like him to 'mingle' with the guests while drawing and work the floor, again he said that is what he always done but would also still need a table and chairs which were provided. He was punctual, however it came to light after I had paid him and he had left the event that he had sat at the table the entire evening and not mingled with the guests and that all the drawings were in colour, not black and white. Further more to set the scene, the venue was a high end art gallery, the red carpet was laid with poles and ropes, a door man, an 'open bar' with the bubbly flowing, canapés being served and several live singers. I was extremely busy throughout the night greeting my guests etc then after he had left guests were showing me some of their caricatures which were very lewd! I am open minded but it was a 'classy' event and 'Fab' had drawn huge nipples, men's private parts etc which was completely inappropriate and unacceptable and not in keeping with the tone of the event or the audience at all. How he could have thought that was acceptable is beyond me - totally unprofessional. Everyone also looked very similar, not resembling the person at all, just with different coloured hair or beard/no beard. If I had realised sooner I would have addressed it immediately, and not paid what he was charging as there was a catalogue of things he didn't do and said he would.

Fab was great, joining my party, engaging with all the guests. He read the room and encouraged people to join in - the portraits were colourful and humorous - everyone has said how good he was - thank you! Will definitely book Fab again 👍

The children had the best time having their faces painted and balloons made for them. The face paint designs were incredible and so were the balloons. The girls particularly enjoyed wearing the balloon wings which were made, they kept them on all day! Fantastic service, would highly recommend.
