Being born in a Celtic Spanish nation as Galicia made me learn to play Galician bagpipes when a child. When started the university, studying computing systems, I realized that my passion was music and started to combine my university studies with traditional music studies, attending lessons from the best teachers of the area, improving techniques and learning percussion (tambourine) as well.
When moved to the UK,11 years ago, soon got a job performing in a Galician restaurant (Centro Galego, NW10 5NG) and started to get jobs in Galician events (weddings, funerals, etc) while I was studying Irish traditional music (Irish whistles) in the Hammersmith Irish Centre and meeting experienced musicians in Irish and Scottish sessions.
Three years ago I decided to focus my laboral life only in music, having the chance to get a Scottish bagpipe and learn the different fingering of this new instrument. This gave me the chance to get many gigs as a Scottish bagpiper, participating in different events, traditional Scottish celebrations, political and social events, etc.
I also have experience in zaffas (Arabic weddings)
I also been involved in promoting Galician music in London, getting involved with top bands and performing with them.

Booked David Carril (Piper) for our Mum’s funeral on Friday where he played Scottish music before & after the service. David was dressed in tartan & his playing was superb. Even the Celebrant said he was the best piper that she had seen at a funeral service…..thank you again David 👏
David was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t recommend him more highly. I wanted David to pipe my entrance to the church and for it to be a surprise for my fiancé, so he arrived extra early to practise with the organist for a magnificent entrance and then went and hid away in the village to ensure my fiancé didn’t see him. He was friendly, communicative and even travelled longer on the day because of a train strike! His playing was absolutely beautiful. We were so lucky to have found David, and will be forever grateful to him for everything he did for us.

David took on my event at such short notice. He was amazing from the first contact until the end of the event. Unfortunately it was a funeral for my Grandad and David played the car in whilst playing beautifully on the Scottish bagpipes. It really made the send off just perfect!
