Based in Guildford, Cheesecake are a fantastic party band working mostly around Surrey, London and the South of England. They provide a total entertainment solution for corporate or private events. Fun, music and mayhem. Party classics, rocking tunes, all carried off with humour and energy by an experienced, highly capable and totally cool live band. Extensive, flexible range of great dance music and classic show-stoppers, interspersed with generous helpings of cheese, both vintage and modern. With the addition of our optional fiddle player we can also play traditional jigs and reels and a whole range of Irish songs, as well as our mainstream party set.

Dear Grant, I can't thank you enough for your incredible efforts last night. Not only was the music fantastic, the atmosphere joyful and the first dance magical, you were all so lovely, kind and organised. I will be recommending you to everyone and many of my friends last night came up to tell me you were the best band they had ever seen at a wedding. If you would like us to write a review we would be very happy to do so. Best wishes Lucy Woods

Thank you so much for your part in our wedding at Missenden Abbey on 24th July! We honestly cannot thank you enough for playing such an incredible set - so many of our guests commented on you as a band and how much they enjoyed dancing along with you. Some said they didn’t leave the dance floor all night! We could not be more pleased that we chose you to play at our wedding. We also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your understanding and patience in postponing our original wedding date last year. We were incredibly fortunate that each of our suppliers were so very accommodating, as it made the difficult decision to move our wedding much easier. With hindsight, we can now see that the postponement was absolutely worth it as our day was completely perfect this year! Thank you, once again, for the part you played in that and please let us know where to leave an online review for your band. With very best wishes and HUGE thanks! Kelly & John (Mr & Mrs O’Dowd!)

Hi Alexis and Cheesecake, Just wanted to say a really massive thank you for playing at our wedding on Saturday. You absolutely nailed it and were exactly what we wanted for the day. And thanks so much for doing Dreams by the Cranberries as the first song, it was so special for us and went so much better than we could have expected! Tell Me Ma straight after it was inspired too 😀 (Someone recorded the first minute of Dreams and we’ve watched it about 50 times already, getting emotional every time haha!). Really sorry that it was so rushed at the start but we massively appreciate how flexible you were and for getting set up in the garden before. And love the fact you played past the 10pm curfew 🙌 Also sorry from Michaela that she didn’t get to say hi, and that we didn’t get to thank you on the day (it was all a bit manic!). We’d appreciate if you could pass on our thanks to the other band members, loads of people have said how great the fiddle player was in particular. Let us know if there is somewhere that you’d like us to leave a formal review, we’d be delighted to. All the best. Johnny & Michaela

FAQs

  • Please, describe your act or business in on sentence:

Lively and fun 4 piece live band including violin/Irish fiddle, perfect for weddings.

  • What is your competitive advantage (special features)?

We are a fully live band with the special addition of a violinist, which provides options for upbeat Irish and Celtic folk songs, great for all-in dance floor rollicking. We have a huge repertoire from the 60s to now and take requests and keep the party spontaneous and fresh.

  • What kind of events do you usually serve?

Mostly weddings and parties, but we can also provide more intimate duo music (violin/guitar or two guitars) for earlier parts of your wedding day.

  • How long do you play for?

We usually play for 2 1/2 hours, which can be split up however you choose. We supply DJ tunes through our PA system before we play, during break, and while we pack up.

  • Do you have your own PA and lighting?

Yes, we have our own PA system, suitable for all but the largest venues and 2-3 lighting trees for party atmosphere.

  • Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?

Yes, we have £5m Public Liability Insurance and all of our equipment is tested annually.

  • How much space do you require?

The minimum space for a full band with drum kit is probably around 5m x 3m, but ideally a little more. We hardly ever have a problem with space as we are relatively compact.

  • My favourite tune is not on your list. Will you be able to play it?

Of course, we are open to preparing specific songs (especially for the “first dance”), and also like you to select ones from our setlist that are your favourites.

  • How many breaks do you take? How long are they?

Usually one break is enough, around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on how the evening is going.
