Alan has been a full-time caricature artist since 2015, usually drawing at over 100 events a year. He is based in Bicester near Oxford, but willing to travel.
Alan is able to offer live caricatures on paper, digitally or virtually. He’s amongst the quickest in the UK, drawing black and white sketches at up to 15 faces per hour. His unique approach allows him to work nearly as fast in colour.
He’s a thrill to watch, drawing with a very animated face, so as to breathe life into the drawings. Whether he’s seated, mix ‘n mingling or on-stage, he’s in his happy place - drawing furiously.
Alan was brilliant. He kept in touch and responded promptly before the event and was a huge success with the guests at our daughter's evening wedding reception. Professioal and amusing throughout. We have no hesitation in recommending him.
If anyone is thinking about getting a caricaturist for their wedding, then stop thinking and go ahead and book one. My wife and I had one for ours and we’ve had so many amazingly positive comments.

Our recent Holiday party was a resounding success; thanks in no small part to the exceptional work of the Alan, our caricature artist who joined us for the evening. This talented individual brought a touch of lighthearted fun and laughter to the occasion, transforming our party into a canvas for creative expression and unforgettable memories. The result was a collection of caricatures that were not only hilarious but also insightful and endearing.
He worked his way around the party with his iPad and our guests received a small print out as a memento. Our office kitchen has been turned into a Wall of Fame as Alan's drawings grace the walls.

I booked Alan for a school leavers party and we absolutely loved him. He worked really hard throughout the 3hr booking, taking no breaks, to draw all the kids there. I found his drawings to be brilliant and an amusing reflections of the kids features that he was able to re-print as he’d worked digitally - which was great. He was also very flexible to accommodate larger groups of friends. We also now have a large montage of all the kids together. Amazing. Would book him again and highly recommend.
We used Alan recently at a manufacturer conference. He was a great addition. Delegate loved having their pictures drawn. Alan was very professional and is amazing at what he does. He was very prompt and reliable, a pleasure to work with. I would have no hesitation of using him again and I can highly recommend.
We hired Alan Simpson to draw caricatures of the guests at our wedding. The queue waiting to sit for Alan was testament to how good the portraits were. Alan was able to incorporate hobbies of the guests into his drawing and the lucky recipients were amazed when the image was revealed.
We highly recommend Alan for any event and would hope to use him again at future large family events.

Alan created caricatures of our guests on our wedding day and was fantastic. Lots of great feedback, he was on time for the two hour slot and managed to fit in plenty of people. He was even able to grab a photo and finish some of the drawings off when the guests were needed in photos etc. Would definitely book again!

To have Alan at this corporate function was a real ice breaker with people and got them laughing and talking to each other. Wow what can I say about Alan Simpson . He was just amazing . I can’t believe how many drawings he did all to perfection . He pitched himself perfectly at the venue . The guests couldn’t stop talking about him . I wished I had booked him for longer and I’m so sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye . I would highly recommend Alan . Alan’s attendance at my parent’s golden wedding party was a huge success. We had so many comments from guests about what a good idea it was to have him there. His pictures were funny, slightly ‘cheeky’ as you would expect, and a lovely keepsake for people to take away.
Alan was friendly, professional and flexible and managed to draw an incredible number of people in the time he was there (which was longer than we had agreed). I would employ him again in a heartbeat.
Having Alan at our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. He was an absolute hit during our reception. He was fun and interesting, and was so ruthless and truthful and everyone loved it so much! Huge thank you to him, and I would recommend him to everyone as a great addition to their wedding!
We cannot recommend this gentleman enough, we initially booked Alan from 6-9 fore a 3 hour slot, the wedding was delayed hence everything else was delayed too, alan Turned up at 5.30- to set up his equipment unaware of the delay, Alan simply said not a problem I will wait.
6.30 and Alan could setup is equipment, everybody loved the work that he did for them, he was a true professional, he guy did not leave until 10.45 he never turned anybody down I had to say to him that it was time that he packed up otherwise he would have been there all night.
We cannot recommend this gent enough, great guy, great Caricaturist.
