We've played vibrant, exciting dance music for weddings and all social occasions for over 20 years now and this means that we have all the expertise and experience needed to ensure that you and your guests have a a fabulous time at your special event. Small and tidy we can fit into tight spaces but we make a lively fulsome sound which will get everyone up on their feet and dancing. Our caller has a repertoire of dances that everyone can enjoy and an easy style that ensures that you can all relax and throw yourselves into the fun.
We want you all to have the best time and so we'll tailor the evening to your specific requirements and will discuss timings and all the arrangements with you well beforehand so that from the minute we arrive you know that we are ready fit in with you. We’ll begin playing at the agreed time and when you’re ready, our caller will invite you and your guests up to dance. He tailors the dancing according to your needs, keeping it simple if you haven’t done much of this sort of thing before, or giving you some lively challenges if you are old hands. We are more than happy to take requests if you remember a dance from a previous event or, dare we say it, from school but it’s probably best if you give us some notice before the dance, just in case it’s not in our current repertoire.
Thank you so much what a super band, they really made my party by playing before hand while our guests had drinks and for the dance in the fabulous barn at The Chequers in Heaverham near Sevenoaks. All guests danced our socks off, great fun! We thoroughly recommend A2 Band for all ages.

We booked A2 barn dance band for a party at our farm and they did not disappoint.
The whole process from booking to the band performing was spot on.
The music was amazing, Barbara and her fellow band mates were professional , had a great sense of humour along with the patience of a saint as most of us seemed to have two left feet and zero rhythm.
Everyone has said what a great night they had and commenting on how good the band were.
I would 100% recommend booking A2 barn dance band for any occasion and we most certainly will be using them again in the future.

Having recently hired the A2 Barn Dance band to host at our Tennis Club fundraiser we highly recommend. The band were superb and to get the moves from the crowd as they did was quite remarkable as we are not a co-ordinated bunch! A2 Barn Dance provided a reel party for our daughter's 18th birthday party - what a night it was! They were very friendly and professional from the booking stage all the way through to the last note. They quickly realised our level of proficiency on the night and adapted their playing accordingly. In addition to being consummate musicians, they are really pleasant to deal with and supportive. I thoroughly recommend them.

We are a barn dance band and ceilidh band consisting of 2 musicians playing fiddle and melodeon, and the caller and we play for weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries and all manner of social events.
One of our most memorable bookings was playing for the wedding reception the daughter of a high ranking official in Luxembourg. We entertained the guests with dances and tunes after the ceremony and delighted the bride by singing her favourite song, The Dancing and the Dreaming from How to Train Your Dragon 2
We're experienced musicians of many years standing and have been playing regularly together for over 20 years.
We play for all kinds of social and family events like weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, fund raisers, church socials, corporate and school events. Barn dances work really well in any social situation and our caller always chooses a programme of dances to suit the level of experience and expertise of the guests so that everyone can take part if they want to.
All sorts of people book us, from brides and grooms to PTA's and church committees.
Payment can be made by bank transfer, Paypal, Paymobile, cash or cheque.
When you book us we're yours for the evening but most people book us for 3 to 4 hours
We have our own PA. We're a 3 piece band and our PA is compact so we can fit into small spaces.
We have public liability and all our equipment is PAT tested

If you have a tune or a dance that you would like us to include just let us know beforehand in case it's not in our current repertoire. We love adding new material so we're always up for taking requests.
We're happy to fit around your plans for the evening but will need a short break of 20 to 30 minutes midway through the performance if we're playing for longer than 2 hours.
Yes, the caller is an integral part of the band and we always bring him
Our caller will walk you through the dance before the music starts and he is always ready with any necessary prompts, once it has got going. People have remarked on his clarity, his patience and his light, amusing style which is aimed at making sure that the everyone can relax, have a laugh and a jolly good time. Sometimes dances do go awry but it's not a problem. It's just part of the fun, so don't worry if it happens to you.
The A2 Barn Dance Band has been around a while and that means we’ve had plenty of time to hone our skills and seek out the best and most danceable tunes and we’re always on the look out for more to keep our repertoire fresh and exciting. Our tune list includes music from all over the United Kingdom but we mainly play English dance tunes. However if you’re after a Scottish flavour for your wedding or you fancy a Burns Night this year we have plenty of tunes from Scotland and we have more than enough Irish tunes for you to dance away an evening.
Our caller has an extensive range of dances for all levels of experience so don’t worry if you’ve never been to a barn dance before. He’ll quickly work out what’s needed and will tailor a programme of dances for you and your guests. We play for lots of family parties and social events where the age range can span infancy to old age. Wherever you are on that continuum we have dances for you.
