Cafecito plays a lively pre-salsa style of music still heard on the streets of old Havana today - cha cha chas, danzones, mambos and boleros as well as Latin jazz, which you will have heard a flavour of in the Buena Vista Social Club recordings. Our main repertoire includes Cuban classics from the 1930’s to the 1960’s. Cafecito’s eight piece dance band is lead Cuban singer, violin, flute, piano (we bring our own), congas, bongos/guiro, timbales and double bass and the musicians also sing backing vocals. David Gonzalez is a chameleonic musician that plays almost all musical styles. Focusing in Jazz, Flamenco and Bossa nova, he is absolutely able to play, twist and rebuilt any of your favourites songs. David has worked with Geronimo Maya, David Garcia " El Indio ," John Adeleye , Gloria Garcia , Gak Jonez , David Jordan , DeeLee Dube, Natalia Vergara and Roberta de Francia. De Fuego is a sensational guitar duo, playing energetic instrumental flamenco and rumba-based music. The group has come a long way since coming together in 2010 and their humble beginnings as buskers in London’s markets. Soon after they started to get bookings in festivals because of their upbeat style of music and from 2012, every summer they headline in various festivals and performe in major ones such as Sziget Fesztival (HU), Glastonbury Festival, Secret Garden Party, Shambala and more. Rio Brass was founded in 2018 with the intention of bringing the tradition of Carnaval Blocos to London. Every year thousands gather in Rio streets and clubs to celebrate Carnaval and to listen and party to the music of the many different Blocos "street bands" that the city has to offer. With that in mind, trumpeter and founder of Rio Brass Gabriel Dias, who is originally from Rio and has studied music at the Juilliard School in New York created the group by arranging and rehearsing popular songs from both the UK and Brazil.
