A lively Ceilidh & Folk Cover band with songs from Britain & beyond. Repertoire on request, catering to both modern & traditional themes

We are available for weddings, corporate events, parties, functions & everything in between, from stately home to back garden!

Booking for a wedding?

We have a few different wedding services that we can offer - so if you want to combine parts, mix & match or have a different idea, do talk to us! From accompaniment in the ceremony & afternoon receptions, to up-tempo foot-stomping evening attractions we can tailor our approach. We offer DJ services for in between sets & to finish off the evening if you're looking for some big-time hits to send you off into the night!

Looking for a Ceilidh?

A Ceilidh (Kay-Lee), is a traditional Scottish or Irish social event, with traditional music & dancing. Think of it like a Barn Dance!

Our Caller's job is to teach you the moves & ensure you roughly know what to do! Our Caller will also ensure there's always people on the dance floor - probably while cracking a joke & making sure everyone is having a great time! Always a fun evening – you’ll be surprised at how many guests really enjoy themselves – especially when they see all their friends making a fool of themselves too!

But don’t worry, we wont make fun of you – we might even join you for a dance!

Is Ceilidh dancing hard?

Never! There are experts out there, however we have performed ceilidhs for children, retirement communities & all manner of ages & abilities. Our Caller is specifically there to assist you throughout. Plus, its always more fun if it goes a little bit wrong!!

What about when you’re not playing?

We will normally have a short break halfway through to give everyone a rest. During this, we'll have a genre specific playlist ready. Unless you ask for anything specific, it will suit the theme of the night & be similar to our own style. If you'd rather your own choices, this can be arranged prior to the event date.

We had a fantastic time with the Ceilidh provided by the Stomping Boondocks. The music reeled everyone in - even the ones who were unsure or too cool or a bit older - and united us in having a brilliant dance. I would thoroughly recommend them.

Karl and the rest of the band absolutely made our night! They managed to wrangle a 100+ crowd and get them on their feet for a ceilidh. Karl was an excellent caller and adapted instructions and routines as he went, ensuring everyone felt welcome and included. The music was full of energy and exactly what we were after; as a family of Murphys, we were very happy with the song/dance choices and loved every second.

Karl was communicative throughout the booking and planning process, ensuring everything was prepped well in advance of our wedding day. We honestly could not be happier, and neither could our guests: it was the highlight of the night for many, and we couldn't have picked a better band.

A massive diolch yn fawr from Mr and Mrs Murphy!

Genuinely the best band and the best choice for our wedding day! We had a massive Ceilidh which was super fun! The band went above and beyond, setting up at the venue before guests arrived and sorting out all of our sound needs throughout the reception. Before the day, Karl had been really helpful and clearly communicated everything to us, and on the day everything ran so smoothly. Many of our guests said how talented the band was and how it was the best Ceilidh they’d been to. I highly recommend that you book them for your event!!

We hired the Stomping Boondocks for our wedding reception and they were absolutely fantastic! Most of the guests had never done a ceilidh before but all of them were raving about it after the event. Very responsive with communication before the event also.
