Bradley Johnston (guitar) is making a name for himself as a prodigious talent on the North East jazz scene. He has been studying with Dr. James Birkett at Sage Gateshead (UK), Centre For Advanced Training, Young Musicians Program since the age of fourteen. In 2016 Bradley gained a First Class Honours degree from the B.Mus. (Hons): Jazz, Popular and Commercial music degree at Sage Gateshead, and this year (2017) completed a Young People and Adults Specialist PGCE qualification, having undergone his teaching practice on the B.Mus. degree programme at Sage Gateshead.

At only twenty - four, Bradley has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the UK and has also taken part in workshops with leading world class musicians from the UK, USA and Brazil. These performances and workshops include Dave Holland, Rick Taylor, Mike Walker, Debbie Harry’s Jazz Passengers, Andy Sheppard, Tim Garland, Kathryn Tickell, Riccardo Appezzato. Bradley continues to perform with a variety of jazz ensembles (including his own band), undertaking concert and festival performances.

Over the past three years Bradley has been undertaking guitar duo concerts with Dr. Birkett, presenting a journey through the history of jazz repertoire for two guitars - And now available, their first CD entitled 'Together' can be purchased through this Facebook account.

Other current projects / ensembles include: 'Hand To Mouth': Tribute to Ella and Joe Pass, Brad Johnston Trio, Lickety Split (8 - piece jazz / cool / west-coast ensemble), Custom House Big Band.
