Smack the 80s are rated as one of the UK's most authentic 80s Covers band playing lively and entertaining hits for non stop dancing and fun.
All the professional musicians that perform as Smack the 80s are famous for delivering a professional, fun-packed, authentic tribute 80s show that will fill the dance floor and create an event that everyone will enjoy.
Available as a 4 or 5 piece band, dressed in 80s stage wear and using lighting and electro-wizardry, the Bands show (usually 2 x 1 hour sets, though flexible ) instantly transcend audiences’ memories to this golden era with sounds from Wham, Madonna, Depeche Mode, ABC, The Bangles, Gary Numan, Cyndi Lauper, Frankie goes to Hollywood, Duran Duran, Kim Wilde, Spandau Ballet, Thompson Twins, Erasure, Bananarama, The Pet Shop Boys, Communards, and many, many more.
Our aim is to fill the dance floor and provide non stop entertainment. Clients value the fact that our fees include a free DJ/ Disco service which means reducing costs and making booking a complete evening's entertainment very straight-forward.
As professional musicians we have many years experience, having played at hundreds of Weddings, Corporate functions and headlining festivals.Before every booking we offer a Skype call or telephone calls so that the band leader and the booker can meet, discuss every detail from arrival times, set up, sound checking, performance times ,breaks, end of evening break down and so on so that you can completley relax and enjoy the evening as much as your guests.

The band were friendly, courteous and mindful of our customers trying to shop around them while setting up. The 80's vibe was perfect for the Party atmosphere we were trying to create. Our longevity means we have played thousands of gigs for Royalty, Military events, well know Corporates and Festivals up to 3,000 people
What is your competitive advantage (special features)?
We have two lively, up front lead vocalists, who are not only great singers but are also exceptional at getting a crowd on side, and on the dance floor ! Every gig becomes an event.
What kind of events do you usually serve?
80s Nights, Corporate Entertainment, Wedding Party, Tribute Festivals, Military Balls, Birthday Party, Hotel Christmas Events, Beer Festivals, Football and Rugby Clubs...and many others , but NO PUBS !!

How can event planners pay for your services?
By bank transfer
How long do you play for?
Usually 2 x 1 hour sets, though we can be flexible
Do you have your own PA and lighting?
Yes small enough for 75 people big enough for 500.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?
Yes and it is renewed each year
How much space do you require?
Minimum area is 20 ft wide by 22 ft deep.
My favourite tune is not on your list. Will you be able to play it?
We cover a wide range of 80s artists so very often your favourite is covered......if not , and if we cannot accommodate that song we can always include as your first dance/ or in the interval back ground music.
How many breaks do you take? How long are they?
20 mins minimum between 2 x 1 hour sets.
Do you need a changing room?
Yes please as we change into our stage wear before going on stage and need somewhere safe to leave our belongings. Nothing fancy...meeting rooms...bedroom.....office...but not the toilets please.
