Description
The Suffolk-based Scintillo String Quartet has gained an enviable reputation for providing professional live music of the highest standard for a wide variety of engagements including weddings, corporate events and concerts in venues throughout Suffolk, Essex, Norfolk, & Cambridgeshire.
Working as freelance musicians, between them the members of the quartet boast a wealth of musical experience, including performing with the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Iceni Ensemble, English Serenata, and live performances on BBC Radio 4 and at The Comedy Store in Leicester Square. Collectively, and to name but a few, members of the quartet have performed for HM The Queen & HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, HRH The Princess Royal, Boris Johnson, Tony Blair, Sir Colin Davis, Elgar Howarth, Lang Lang, Julian Lloyd-Webber, Annie Lennox, Jo Brand, Rich Hall, Loyd Grossman, Alistair Cook, David Yates, Griff Rhys Jones & Juliet Stevenson CBE.
We pride ourselves in working with our clients to provide the perfect atmosphere for any part of their event and having played at company launches, formal dinners, anniversaries, birthday celebrations and christenings across East Anglia and London, the Scintillo String Quartet is able to provide a professional and unobtrusive musical backdrop for any event.
Key to our success is that we recognise that our clients have individual and specific requirements and we tailor our music and dress accordingly to suit both formal and informal occasions. Our clients have included Pearson Longman, Norfolk & Norwich Hospital Trust, Aldeburgh Music, The White Company, Porsche UK, The University of Essex, Crusaid, and Informa UK.

FAQs
What kind of events do you usually serve?
High quality, live, acoustic string music for weddings, events, and concerts...in fact we can tailor our music to any social occasion whether it be formal or informal.
How long do you play for?
Our bookings vary in duration, as a guide from between 2 to five hours tailored to each individual event.
Do you have your own PA and lighting?
As an acoustic ensemble we don't require any audio, electrical or PA equipment.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?
A copy our PLI certificate is available upon request and please also contact us if your venue requires a copy of this, as we are also happy to liaise directly with them.
How much space do you require?
We require roughly 3x4 metres, although we often fit within smaller spaces too!
My favourite tune is not on your list. Will you be able to play it?
Yes! The Scintillo String Quartet offers a music arrangement service for pieces which have not previously been published for string quartet. If we do not already hold a particular piece in our extensive repertoire and cannot source the music from elsewhere, we can probably arrange it for you. We would of course need adequate notice and there is sometimes an additional fee for this service. Please contact us for further information.
How many breaks do you take? How long are they?
We would expect to take a 15-20 minute break for every two hours booked. For example during a four hour booking we would take one 15-20 minute break at a convenient time so that your event is not disrupted.

The Scintillo String Quartet offers a repertoire list which encompasses over 350 years of musical styles, from Classical favourites to contemporary pop songs. We are always adding new music and additionally offer a music arrangement service, ensuring that you can have your favourite piece of music even if it has not previously been published for string quartet.
