Description
Cafecito plays a lively pre-salsa style of music still heard on the streets of old Havana today - cha cha chas, danzones, mambos and boleros as well as Latin jazz, which you will have heard a flavour of in the Buena Vista Social Club recordings. Our main repertoire includes Cuban classics from the 1930’s to the 1960’s. Cafecito’s eight piece dance band is lead Cuban singer, violin, flute, piano (we bring our own), congas, bongos/guiro, timbales and double bass and the musicians also sing backing vocals. We can also perform as a five piece (flute, piano, double bass and 2 percussionists) for background music such as a drinks reception.

Set List/Services
We offer 2 sets of approximately an hour each within a 3 hour period. We bring our own piano, PA, and basic stage lighting for an evening event if required. All you need to provide is a plug socket or 2! We have Public Liability Insurance and our instruments are PAT tested. We’re happy to play outside but ask for cover such as a gazebo in case of strong sunshine or a sudden shower of rain! We can bring extra long extension cables if needed. We need about 1 to 2 hours to set up, depending on the size of the band. Our set consists of great Cuban classics such as Azucar Pa Ti, La Basura, Toccala, Charanga, Chan Chan, Pare Cochero, Dos Gardenias, Mambo, Tres Lindas Cubanas.... and many, many more! We can also provide dancers to help your guests with their steps as well as giving a couple of exhibition dances.
