Below is a recommendation from a satisfied customer.
Shenanigans, Alan and Steve were fantastic. Everyone at our party thoroughly enjoyed their outstanding performance. They are excellent musicians and Alan has a super voice for Irish songs, both soft and strong. Steve's fiddle playing was superb and complemented Alan's voice and guitar. They were happy to play requests from the audience and had a great interaction with the audience. We would definitely book them again as would most of the people present. As someone who goes to a lot of live music events I was really impressed. Book Shenanigans for a great night of entertainment, we all had a wonderful evening, thank ...

This trio of likeminded musicians formed in early 2017, and have already made their mark with their upcoming group. Coming from projects of their own (TEYR, Crossharbour, Céilí Max), Tad Sargent (GUITAR, BOUZOUKI, BODHRAN, VOCALS), James Gavin (FIDDLE, GUITAR) and Dominic Henderson (UILLEANN PIPES, WHISTLES, VOCALS) blend their intrigue with new sounds with the old styles of the music they grew up with.
Born in London, Tad, James and Dominic having grown up playing on the session circuit as accomplished musicians in their own right, and also having taught extensively in their fields, now turn their heads towards hitting stages at events around the country with a new, exciting, and vibrant sound.
Their music has been described as "Ear Candy For The Gods" by Bill Barclay (Director Music at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, and Guardian Columnist).
Between them, the lads have played at venues ranging from the Royal Albert Hall, The Union Chap...

We are looking for some background singing/music while we eat the 3 course meal.
The event is being held at:
It would be from about 8pm - 9.30pm.
Due to the fact we are a non profit organisation we only have a budget of around £200.
We are wanting a band to perform for our wedding.
We are wanting them to start their 1st set at roughly 7.30, then 1 or more 2 sets. We want a DJ on when the band isn't performing and need it to last until 1am.
The event is a Burns night and we will have a Black Tie/Kilt dinner with Piper followed by music and dancing - people prefer 60s/70s/80s music - ideally during breaks some music could be played.
Event starts early at 6.30pm and finishes at midnight.

Kitty's band were amazing at my mum's 90th birthday party. They played the perfect mix of slower and jazzier music brilliantly. They created the perfect atmosphere and were completely flexible to small changes we made to timings or to requests. everyone said how good they were and there was plenty of dancing by all age groups. We had a great party and Kitty's Band were a big part of everyone having such a good time. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them - great band with a great sound!
I just wanted to say such a huge thank you for the amazing performance that you gave. You were so friendly and willing to help in any way that any nervousness about getting up to dance was immediately dismissed. I was extremely apprehensive prior to the night about how the dancing would go down, especially with my two left feet! However my worrying was in vain, what a fantastic night of dancing it was, so inclusive that any and all can get up and get involved, aged 5 or 105. You need no experience or talent, just listen to the brilliant calling, it’s all simple moves but when it comes together with all your friends and family on the night, prepare to be amazed. I can not thank the band enough for making our Wedding such a fantastic night, I have never seen so many people thoroughly enjoying themselves all at once. I can sincerely recommend the Black Velvet Band for any social occasion, your expectations will be exceeded. (10 / 10)
I hope 5 is the top ranking as i can't praise Alan and his Shenanigans Irish Music Duo enough. The music created such a wonderful atmosphere and made it a memorable experience for all the guests, who without exception thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Alan provides a reliable and professional service which I without reservation recommend to anyone.
On behalf of my family I would like to thank Alan for a fantastic evening.
