#4

The Wellington

37 Bennetts Hill,, B2 5SN, Birmingham, West Midlands
£10
Up to 30 guests
The Wellington opened in December 2004, realising a 10 year dream for landlord Nigel Barker. Having moved to Birmingham from Derby to run the Barton's Arms at Aston Nige was frustrated with the lack of availability and choice of real ales in the city centre and vowed, one day to open a real ale free house.

It took some time but with the backing of Black Country Traditional Inns the Welly opened a week before Christmas 2004 with 10 hand pulls and a queue on the doorstep! It was an immediate success, so much so that within 6 months the bar had to be extended and another 6 hand pulls installed. In the first year the pub sold an unprecedented 2610 different ales.

Due to the continued success, in 2014 the Welly, which had previously only occupied the ground floor and cellar of the building, acquired the former offices on the two floors above. A major refurbishment took place and in June of that year the pub re-opened with 27 hand pulls, an upstairs bar, function room and roof terrace.

At the Wellington our main mission is to sell a large range of interesting, well kept real ales. We do, however, also have a range of quality lagers and ciders along with foreign bottled beers. Our range of Scotch whiskies on the ground floor is amazing whilst the first floor bar has a huge range of whiskies from around the world. We have recently introduced a range of speciality gins and rums.

We don't sell food at the Welly but you are more than welcome to bring your own or order a takeaway curry, pizza or indeed anything to be delivered to the pub. We provide plates, cutlery and condiments.

Do come and try our unique, music and fruit machine-free atmosphere. Unfortunately we only cater for over eighteens.

The pub is situated in the heart of the business district and is less than 5 minutes walk from both New Street and Snow Hill Stations.

#6

Slon Coctail Bar

14-16 Suffolk Street Queensway,, B1 1LT, Birmingham, West Midlands
Our upstairs Tiki bar is the most unique and quirky bar in Birmingham. Bringing a taste of the tropical South Pacific to Brum, we've turned our function room into a cocktail and rum lovers paradise.

Tiki culture is all about big, fruity cocktails in wacky drinking vessels, so we've designed a drinks menu to reflect this. As well as the most quintessential Tiki cocktail, the Mai Tai (using Trader Vic's original recipe), we've got drinks inspired by New Orleans, Puerto Rico and Polynesian flavours.

We throw open the doors to our Tiki bar on Friday and Saturday from 8pm. Our Happy Hour runs from 8pm to 10pm so get yourself down early!

#14

The Vaults

Newhall Place, Newhall Hill,, B1 3JH
The Vaults is a venue as unique as they come - a multi-purpose event space housed underneath Waterloo station itself. It’s comprised of eight different event spaces that include vaulted archways, exposed brickwork, a network of underground tunnels and steel structures that form a curious, blank canvas venue. As there’s no natural daylight, the rooms are dark and make for atmospheric event settings. And trust us, a little lighting and production goes a long way. Live entertainment also goes down a treat, with the spaces providing perfect acoustics to amplify music and immerse the audience in their surroundings. If the whole venue is taken exclusively, it can accommodate up to 1,000 people standing or if hiring the areas individually, you’re looking at a maximum capacity in one space of almost 600 standing.

The Icc Birmingham

Broad St,, B1 2EA, Birmingham, West Midlands
For any event to be a success it needs to pack out the room, generate infectious word of mouth and have everyone wanting to return before they’ve left. And we understand that it’s not just the venue that draws the crowds, but the host city too. Luckily for us, we’re smack bang in the middle of Birmingham, a city full of confidence, ambition and entrepreneurial spirit.

Retail and financial powerhouses, award-winning architecture, advanced engineering and culinary excellence. It’s fair to say Birmingham continues to be a city that never rests on its laurels – always leading the way, setting new standards and pushing forwards to show the world that it’s one of the most dynamic, diverse and ambitious cities in Europe.

It’s also the home of more start-up companies than any UK destination outside of London, and has become a base for financial giants such as Deutsche Bank, Deloitte and HSBC. Of course, it’s not just the serious business community that’s attracting people and putting the city firmly on the world stage. It’s the seriously vibrant culture and lifestyle offering that awaits the moment you arrive.
