My name is Will. I'm a wedding, family & portrait photographer living and working in Bournemouth, Dorset, on the beautiful Jurassic Coast, in South West England. I graduated from UCA in Surrey 2002 with a BA in photography, where I specialised in portraiture.
I'm interested in people and the way they connect with each other - essentially, I photograph relationships. I photograph things to remember them and to understand them.
So, I photograph people to understand them and their stories a little more (and consequently, a little more about myself).
If you're looking for natural and compelling images without fuss or artificial trends, that tell your unique story, then I'd love to hear from you.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | DORSET

Capturing raw, honest emotion in single photographs. Telling stories in single, unposed images rather than just creating a series of pretty snapshots. Capturing the essence of that moment in a single frame so that you’re able to look at that photograph weeks, months or years after it was made and remember how you felt at the time.
Documentary wedding photography is essentially about telling stories. My job, as I see it, is to tell the story of your wedding day exactly as it happened. No gimmicks and no ‘flash’ photography (pun intended). For me, this means all the ups and downs – the laughter, the dancing, the grazed knees, the nerves, the torn dresses, the panic, the love, friends reuniting, the tears, the bad jokes, the lost keys, the lost cars, people absolutely insisting on enjoying themselves and each other – all of it.
The moments you’ll remember don’t need prompting so I won’t be interfering in your day in any way. I won’t be arranging you and your guests into endless, awkward posed photos. I won’t be keeping you away from your friends and family doing wedding portraits for ages either. It’s your day, not mine.
I’ll photograph your wedding from the perspective of your guests. When you look at your photos afterward I want you to be remembering your day, as it was for you, not remembering what your photographer was doing…

FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER | DORSET

Here’s the thing. When your family photographs are passed down through the generations shouldn’t they be about more than just what your family looked like? Wouldn’t you rather you’re able to show your children, and your children’s children what their lives were like – who they were? To know who they were and what they did when they’d forgotten anyone was looking? What made them laugh, what made them cry? How they played, how they fought, how they smiled? The weird little things they did?
And shouldn’t you be in the photographs too?
Documentary family photography captures and preserves the unrehearsed story of your family’s daily life. No staging or direction, just candid moments, beautifully photographed.
Natural and spontaneous – with no expectations. You and your family, being yourselves, pressure free. None of the stiff formalities or awkwardness of ‘traditional’ family photography – your family’s spirit and personalities found in the things you do together and in the everyday moments you share.
A different kind of family photography that allows your everyday moments to evolve by themselves: Split second instances that can be so fleeting, seemingly insignificant or even mundane. But when you slow them down to a single frame they become so much more.
Capturing relationships, emotions, and interactions. This is unrehearsed, spontaneous family photography for people who don’t like having their photo taken. I won’t ask you to do anything or try to force something to happen. Genuine, honest photographs that capture the tears and the tantrums as well as the hugs, the smiles, the chaos and the joy: The reality of your beautiful family life.

PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER | DORSET

It’s a privilege to be allowed into someones personal space to photograph them. So an element of trust is important if I’m to make a portrait that’s as honest a representation of you that I can. I treat portrait sessions as a collaborative process rather than a ‘subject/photographer’ process. I try to make it as easy and as relaxed an experience for you as possible.
Relaxed, informal portrait sessions at your home, office or on location, at a pace that suits you!
We’ll get the most out of our session if it takes place in an environment your familiar with so I’ll come to you. I use a combination of natural light and compact/portable studio lights that can be easily set up in a corner of your home or workplace.
The right portrait or headshot, properly executed, can do marvellous things for your online presence, connect you with new clients, potential employers and help to reinforce your brand.
If you think I can help with your portrait requirements then please get in touch.
