'Wonderful album, very rewarding to listen to!' Jools Holland on my solo album

My name is Azadeh and I am a singer/songwriter from London. I began as a solo artist in Edinburgh, taking part in a national acoustic tour of the UK. Since then I have performed as part of an acoustic duo, performed and written songs for a girl band and I am now a solo artist. I have performed with and opened for various bands, such as Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, Grammy award winning Robert Cray, Deacon Blue, Nizlopi and Tom Paxton and provided backing vocals and vocal arrangements for many bands, producers and advertisements both in the studio, on tour and on television. I am now an official member of Faithless frontman - Maxi Jazz's new band - Maxi Jazz and the E type boys and have been touring Europe with Faithless this summer. I was selected by Edinburgh Iranian Festival as the Artist of 2015.

I have a very versatile voice and have won a national acoustic competition of the UK and played at various prestigious venues and arenas such as Kew Gardens, The Barbican Theatre, The Roundhouse, Liverpool Echo Arena, Union Chapel, 93 Feet East, Notting Hill Arts Club, London Zoo (!!) and festivals such as Secret Garden Party, Hop Farm Festival, Connect and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I perform and record regularly.

As well as being a singer and musician, I also write songs and recorded my solo album in Liverpool and Los Angeles. My album was mixed by Grammy award winning Michael Brauer in New York. I have also written with the folk legend, Tom Paxton and rearranged some Jools Holland songs such as ‘La vie en rose’ and performed this at Kew Gardens summer festival (among other venues across the UK) opening for Jools himself whilst on tour with him. In 2014 I was asked to open for blues legend Robert Cray on the UK stint of his world tour.
