Bedford Rowing Club

Bedford Rowing Club row on the River Great Ouse through the centre of the town. Our fleet of boats consists of a complete range of modern eights, fours, pairs, doubles and single sculls, all of which we race in regattas throughout the UK all year round. In recent years, we have added a fleet of more stable boats which get a lot of use by our Explore Rowing squads. We have a selection of training facilities including a weights gym, spin bikes and a Concept 2 rowing machine room; You can train at your own pace as an individual, or as a group under the eye of our coaches. The club has a great social side and we run various events throughout the year both on and off the water. We run regular taster sessions and learn to row courses.

There is a thriving social life at the club, including weekly rower’s night on Thursdays, where meals are available. We host a number of regular functions throughout the year, including the Annual Dinner & Dance, fancy dress parties, barbeques and other events.

This stunning, five-acre octagonal Walled Garden is set within the beautiful grounds of Luton Hoo Estate, the Estate sits conveniently on the border of Harpenden and Luton in the county of Bedfordshire, with easy access from the M1 and M25. The garden was established in the 1770s by John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute, friend and advisor to George III and consultant in the planning of Kew Gardens. For nearly two centuries it was both a botanical garden and the production centre for the Estate's fruit, vegetable and cut flower needs.


The Conservatory is conveniently situated on the border of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, offering easy road links to the M25 and M1.

Built in 1907 by Miss Annie Lawrence as an open air school dedicated to Psychology, it is an extraordinary building designed according to the Arts and Crafts Movement. It has been designated as one of the 'great historic buildings of North Hertfordshire'. This quirky, impressive building is available as a perfect venue in which to hold Weddings, Parties, Meetings, Concerts and other special occasions.

Since 1949 it has been the North Hertfordshire Masonic Centre, housing about 40 Lodges, being run and maintained by a Council drawn from the membership.


The Cloisters have their own chef and has teamed up with North Herts College to provide the catering.
