The Old Vicarage is ideal for those wanting to holiday together and the house is certainly spacious enough to accommodate two or three families or groups of friends.

The combination of double, twin and single bedrooms make for flexible sleeping arrangements and the three bathrooms mean that it is often possible for each group to have their own separate facilities.


The communal rooms are spacious enough for people to be together - for instance everyone can fit around the dining table or sit around in the lounge - but there are also plenty of other quieter areas for people to find their own space.


Use of the adjoining leisure facilities means there are lots of activities on site to suit all ages and energy levels, from the large indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi to the fully-equipped gym, table tennis, table football and outdoor tennis courts. The grounds are excellent for sitting in with a book, enjoying a group barbeque, having a kick around with the kids or just quietly taking in the spectacular views. The private stretch of river that runs just below the house extends this natural 'playground' even further!

At Bakewell Town & Community Trust we believe that the Town Hall is part of the community. That’s why we are working hard to provide facilities and activities to suit a broad range of users.

We offer a special reduced, community rate for local community groups and charities to ensure that we remain at the heart of Bakewell. Our current users are wide ranging and we want to welcome new groups, so we’ve made considerable efforts to improve accessibility. With the improvements we’ve implemented Bakewell Town Hall can provide rooms for hire with quality facilities for both small and large user groups.


We have three rooms available for hire. Our smallest is the Bakewell Town Hall Council Chamber on the first floor, still used by the Town Council today. It can seat groups of up to 20 people comfortably and in some style. The Council Chamber is accessible by lift from the ground floor.


Our Bakewell Town Hall Court Room Gallery is our most flexible and popular space, seating up to 60 people. It has a small stage and also access to an induction hearing loop for our users who have difficulties with their hearing. Being situated on the ground floor, the Court Room Gallery provides easy access for visitors and also houses a permanent, but ever-changing exhibition of original prints by the Sheffield Printmakers, and features the work of a number of local Artists. The Bakewell Town Hall Assembly Room Theatre is our largest room for hire and can accommodate up to 200 people for a dance, or theatre layout to seat 165. As you can see in the photo to the right the Assembly Room Theatre has a large stage set behind what’s known as a proscenium arch. There’s also a lighting rig, making the Assembly Room Theatre a great venue for theatrical presentations and concerts. The room also boasts a sprung dance floor making it the perfect choice for staging an event where dancing is on the menu.
