The Normans

The Normans takes its name from the beautiful 18th-century arable farm on which it is set. Normans Farm has been in the Robinson family for three generations, and, for three generations, it has been the backdrop to a number of fantastic family weddings.

For this reason, we decided that the time was right to open our doors and share our wedding know-how with the world (... or Yorkshire.)

The Normans consists of four areas: The Courtyard, The Marquee, The Cow Stalls, and The Ceremony Barn - four unique areas that combine to make one fully functional and quite stunning wedding venue.

We have transformed an old farm fold yard into a stylish south-facing courtyard, complete with integrated seating, seasonal planting, water feature, and twinkling lights – the perfect place for mingling and (most importantly) sipping bubbly in the Yorkshire sunshine.

The courtyard is designed by London-based architects Mosley & Mann, who have married contemporary design elements with the farm's more traditional features. You will also find manicured lawns and wedding-white flora and fauna.

The Normans is not your average "marquee-on-a-farm" wedding venue. To create a "wow factor" for your own special day we've integrated a unique marquee – complete with two-tiered atrium roof, created by award-winning Barkers Marquees – into an old farm building.

Guests can access the marquee directly from The Courtyard, entering through splendid three-metre-tall double doors, into a spectacular 12m x 21m space – plenty of room for your guests to dine, drink, and dance the night away, whatever the weather!

Whether you'd like to decorate the marquee yourselves, or commission the team at The Normans to create an interior that meets your every wedding whim, the space is yours to do as you will.

The Normans is fully licensed to hold civil marriage ceremonies in its rustic Georgian barn. The 18th Century threshing barn (see banner image, above) features bare-brick walls, and a high vaulted ceiling supported by handsome wooden trusses. Where better to say "I do"?
